Current So I've learned that I have low-level adult ADHD, and that's helped me understand a little bit why I can never seem to stick with an adventure for longer than a month at a time.

I've started the process of writing an adventure book for my most ambitious GUTS+ campaign, and hoo boy, it's exhausting.

I'm attempting to make some one-page adventures for my GUTS+ system. We'll see how that goes!

I'm not a spambot, I'm just excited about my hard work on my app and I want people to not use spreadsheets to make conlangs anymore because that sucks!

@Polybius Awesome! I'm glad to hear that! :D

Do you have any info on the sci-fi setting that might help in the character creation process?

Yeah! The 0th post on the IC tab has the premise for the story, as you saw, but it's generally just researchers or janitors or anyone that might be on a generic sci-fi ship. I don't really have a specific universe for it to be in, but general scifi will fit. Any personality or path will do, just keeping in mind that humanity is at a state that they can do artificial gravity and instant food synthesis, not to mention really long-distance space travel.

I've created the RP in the Tabletop forum: roleplayerguild.com/topics/170750-gut…
Welcome to the first ever test run and workshop for The GUTS+ System! This is going to be a (hopefully) short campaign in a sci-fi setting where you can ask questions about how the system works and suggest improvements to the rules.
The Swift is a research ship on its way home from a newly discovered alien planet. Last year's new model of research vessel, the Swift is equipped with an artificial gravity field generator, automatic air recycler, and an instant food synthesizer, along with the best portable research facilities available. The need for only a minimal crew is a testament to the advanced technology and convenience present on the ship.

The hope for researching this planet were simple: will we finally discover life on a planet beyond our own? After making a few orbits to scan the planet for life, the crew discovered that despite the all of the necessities of life being present, there were no living creatures on the planet and no plant life visible anywhere. They sent down several automatic pods in several locations of the planet to collect some air, soil, and water samples in the following days to see if perhaps there was any microscopic life present, but even still, they were not able to detect anything. After finishing up taking more photos and notes on the planet, they prepared their trajectory back home and left.

A few days into the long trip home, just before they would enter their stasis pods for the long haul, the crew met in the food dispensary for a last, celebratory meal. Just because they hadn't discovered life doesn't negate the fact that they were the first group of researchers to ever physically visit an alien planet! As everyone was sitting down with their synthesized meals, everyone noticed that one of the scientists, Henry Cho, was absent. The captain decided that some of the crew should go check on him to see if maybe he was feeling sick and needed some help.
Use the template below the line to create your character sheet—click "Raw" link in the top right of the post and copy the BBScript below the `hr` tag. This template is modeled loosely off of the character sheet found in the GUTS+ System rules, and is intended to help you organize and view your stats and items more easily.

Sections marked with a `( )` are intended to be filled in with an "X" if necessary, like so: ( X )

The story's opening premise can be found in the 0th post on the IC tab.

If you would like to join, please read through the Player's Handbook. It's not fully complete yet, but I believe there's enough information to get started, especially if you've played an rpg before. Once you've read the GUTS+ system rules, you can request to join—I want to keep the party relatively small with no more than 4 players, but any skill level is welcome.

Once you've requested, set up your character sheet in the Characters tab using the template in the 0th post of the tab. Please fill in as much detail about your character as you would like, keeping with the spirit of GUTS+. The more biographical information you include, the easier it will be to choose your stats. Once you've set up your character with their starting stats, clothing, accessories, and items as laid out in the Player's Handbook, create a Dice Campaign named "GUTS+ Rolls" (or something like that) using the RolePlayer Guild's Dice Campaign page and include a link to your campaign on your character sheet.

Any D6 rolls will be made using the Dice Campaign you created. If an action you take requires a roll, announce your action, make the roll, and write the roll result in your post with a link to that roll in the campaign. The GM (I) will announce the outcome of your attempt in the next roll and the game will continue as this sort of back and forth.

GUTS+ is a pretty open and free system by design as far as player decisions and actions are concerned, but I will do my best to make it clear what actions and items are more interesting and plot-moving than others so you don't get lost.

If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask, and I'll answer them as well as I can. Just be sure to use the appropriate tab (this tab, OOC) to ask them. :)
Awesome! I'll put the framework I've got in a scuffle-if setting, then. :D

Oh! I do have a few questions. As for character races, what will be playable? Is it just humans or can other races be played as well?

For GUTS+, all characters are human, at least for now, and that's mainly because of the Inventory structure (hands + pockets). It would probably be doable to have other races, but for now, human will be the easiest to follow.

And in the rules it mentioned about dice rolls. I’m curious to know how we would be able to do that? Sorry, for all the questions this is my first time doing a table-top thread. ^w^

For dice rolls, this forum actually has a little dice section here: roleplayerguild.com/campaigns

You'll click the "New Campaign" button, name the campaign whatever you want (probably the name of the RP so it's not confusing), and then I think you'll be able to make rolls in there and link to your results! It's a little bit cumbersome, but it's not so bad if you use a second tab with the dice campaign open that you can swap to when you need to roll.

And no worries about asking questions! Ask whatever you need to :)
@vertigh0st Awesome! If you have any questions, let me know!

Also, @manapool1, what setting do you both like playing in? I've got a short campaign loosely prepared, but I'm flexible with the genre.
@manapool1 absolutely! I'll definitely be able to help you understand anything you need help with. :D
Hello, my friends! I've been working on writing a tabletop RPG system that I'm calling the GUTS+ System, and I was hoping some of you would be willing to try it out with me. It's a D6-based tabletop RPG that boasts a more narrative and situational play than dice play.

The rulebooks/handbooks are not complete yet, but I believe there is enough to get started on a game with, and I can walk you through and get your feedback as we play. If you'd be so kind, please check out the GUTS+ System rulebooks and let me know if you'd be interested in playing a quick game! There's not much to read, so hopefully it won't be too much trouble.

Thanks!
