|| MORE IN-DEPTH APPEARANCE ||Derek is a 6'0" red head. He is fairly muscular for his age but not the strongest out there. He has a scar on his right knee from a surgery he needed due to a soccer accident which is why his grandfather forbids him from playing on any soccer teams.

|| PERSONALITY ||At one point Derek was a kind and sweet boy. Sure, he cause mischief like all the others his age, but that Derek hasn't been seen in a long time. Now Derek is rude, sarcastic, and just a sheer pain in the butt. Once he decides he doesn't like you he will harass you constantly. Yet, the people he dislikes always tend to be those who are better off. Seems odd right? Not. He purposefully targets those considered among the 'privileged'. He believes that somehow they are cheating at life by having it as he would say easy. When it comes to people who are in crappy situations similar to him he will stand up for them unless they stab him in the back or betray their kind. Derek truly despises anyone who seems as if they don't have any troubles and if they ever try to say their life isn't sunshine and rainbows he laughs them off not paying attention to what they say.

Dad - Mike Harris - Has never met him due to the man abandoning his girlfriend when discovering she was pregnant.
Mom - Sarah O'Leary - Works two jobs and takes night classes so Derek has little interaction with her.
Grandpappy - Risteard O'Leary - This man is who basically raised Derek. He is a retired school administrator.
|| HOUSE DESCRIPTION ||Derek and his mother live in a small apartment building with only two bedrooms and one bathroom. The dining room, kitchen, and living room are all basically the same room with no walls or dividers separating them. The apartment is run down and all the money Sarah makes goes to food and rent.
|| CAR DESCRIPTION ||No car. Not even enough money for a bike.

Derek didn't use to be the way he is now. He was at one point a sweet and kind individual, but I think I'm getting a little ahead of myself. Let's go back a few years. Fifteen to be precise.
Sarah and Mike were the couple at Arrowsmith High during their high school years. The captain of the football team and the head cheerleader. Prom King and Queen and the most popular kids in town. Yet, as a lot of kids their age they were young, stupid, and careless. A few weeks after prom Sarah realized she was pregnant. Her parents were furious, but did nothing to punish the girl. Mike also promised he would stick by her side forever and that a baby wouldn't change anything, and she believed him. How unfortunately naive.
Only a few days before the due date and Mike disappeared without a trace. Even the boys family and closest friends had no idea where he went other than a note that basically said screw everyone and that he was skipping town forever. To add onto Sarah's grief her mother passed away the day that Derek was born. How could someone be happy in these horrible circumstances? However it was done doesn't matter. Sarah was still overjoyed to have the baby in her arms.
The joy didn't last long and she knew it wouldn't. Her father was an extremely strict man like his name implied and she knew it. He told her she would work to get a place for her and her baby despite having the money and living space to support them. He would give them money anytime they ultimately needed it, but other than that all the man did was watch Derek while Sarah was working or taking classes.
Skip a few years to while Derek is in elementary school. He is a kind quiet sort. Helps his classmates and has a few friends. Then a specific kid moves into town. Considered a 'rich' kid. Starts bullying Derek calling him all sorts of things and pestering him. Derek took it and never responded. Until one day the boy attacked one of Derek's friends. Derek couldn't stand by and watch. He stood up to the bully and in the process got beat up for it. Then his 'friend' didn't even help him.
This basically broke Derek. He switched schools because his mother didn't want him to get hurt again. When he started at the new school he was different. No longer the sweet boy. Now he despised anyone who looked down on others or had it in an sorts of the way easy. No one other than Sarah remember the kind boy that Derek use to be.

Risteard was an immigrant from Ireland when he was a boy so Derek still has deep Irish heritage.
