Daniel sprinted and jumped from rooftop to rooftop, since he couldn’t fly this was his best option of traversing the city, especially with the normal running and panicking everywhere. He stopped himself as he reached one of the last buildings still able to stand; the other buildings were either too far, or looked to be on the verge of failing. Screams from all around reached him, and he relished in the destruction and chaos, the Splatterer was truly wonderful. But Daniel preferred the personal touch, to watch eyes lose life as he gutted them alive.
Daniel held himself back, choosing to stand by on the rooftop as he watched the two aerial heroes rush in, eagerly engaging the Splatterer first. He’d have to repay their manners later. But he grew impatient by the second, he wanted to keep watching, to wait until they were all weakened so he could take his time, savor the feelings, but he found it difficult to continue simply standing by. The fight had now started, and the knife’s call was growing louder and louder, like drums beating harder and faster.
Underneath his helmet Daniel finally smiled widely while nodding.
That’s fine, we don’t need to hold stand back anymore, we can join them now.
He thought to himself as he swiftly reached for his knife, blood splattered out across the building underneath him as he pulled it out, as always the knife was wet, but now it was pouring out a thin stream of a red viscous liquid behind. Now was the time to lay claim to his next victim, his next reward, Captain Explosion’s explosions, he couldn’t allow these monsters to take his kill. He’d need their help, but he’d be the one to finish off he Splatterer.
Daniel jumped off the building and high into the air, the vents on his feet shot off a burst of energy sending him several more feet higher, allowing him to completely close the gap, and jump over and behind the Splatterer. The drumming in his head continued to beat, its rhythm was almost chaotic, but Daniel knew what it meant.
Yes, you can have the first taste, feel his power!
Daniel activated the vents on his hands mid-air, engulfing his Knife in a fluctuating field of bright red energy, and threw his otherworldly blade at his enemy’s backside. The drumming in his head finally disappeared as the knife left his hands, although he hadn't noticed as he had long grown accustomed to it. Daniel landed himself several feet behind the Splatterer, and readied his legs to jump away, someone this strong, wouldn't let all these attacks go unpunished. But now he had join the fight, and he looked forward to it.
Daniel had been stalking Kelly Marston for some time now, her power to shoot out bone spikes was intriguing, he had often wondered how much fun it would be to play with them, to conjure spikes and blades as often as one blinks. She was a relatively accomplished hero publicly, and even privately, but he saw her for what she truly was. A monster, a villain, and she needed to be stopped.
She spent a lot of time around her heroic friends, even worked with a couple in their secret identities, and he could even recognize most of them. He wagered he could probably take them all, but in the process they’d call out to someone bigger, someone he wouldn’t be able to handle, so he waited for her to separate herself, and followed her all the way up to the roof.
Kelly Marston, aka Spearhead. Daniel said with his telepathy, broadcasting himself into her mind. Alarmed she turned quickly, and horror painted her face as she saw Daniel’s blood coated armor.
“Y-you’re Lieutenant Hurley, wait! Stop! You were a hero!” Kelly said, she backed up close, right up to the railing; she had dropped her cigarette down onto the streets below.
“Remember who you are! We fought together! Whatever this is you can fight it!” Kelly continued to plead as she shifted her arms slowly, and then suddenly shot out a spike from her forearm.
Daniel dodged to the side slightly and caught the spike; he let out a low laugh before he rushed into Spearheads face, grabbed her by the neck, and stuck her spike through her chest. His laugh began to increase in volume as he repeatedly stabbed her with her own spike, a fresh coating of blood painted his body again. Daniel began to reach for his knife before he stopped himself, too late, she had already died. He threw her body over the railing and began to walk off, but something stopped him.
A voice coming from slightly underneath him, distressed, panicked, it was an emergency news report playing off Spearheads dropped phone. Whether it was due to his old heroic spirit, or his new state he couldn’t tell, but he quickly reached for it.
And Daniel saw his newest target, The Splatterer, he couldn’t remember if Captain Explosion was a hero before or after his time, but it didn’t matter. He was a monster, a terrible villain, and he needed to be stopped. Daniel’s mouth widened into a smile underneath his helmet, he then broke into a sprint and jumped off the roof, and he continued to repeat until he got closer to Times Square. He smelt it long before he actually saw it, the smoke clouds and screams permeating the area drew his attention, even on the edge of the event Daniel could feel the fear growing. It was enticing; to gain The Splatterer’s powers would be…
Age: 28 Height: 184cm Weight: 86kg. Eyes: Brown, but hidden behind a mask. Hair: Brown, also hidden behind a mask
Back Story:
On the cusp of the heroic age many people developed powers in whatever way they did, unleashing he birth of many heroes and villains. Astonishing people who would create shock and awe wherever they went, spearheading a new age of prosperity and wonder, and of fear. The people created a government organization to monitor and to help handle the super humans who couldn’t be contained via ordinary means. This organization was known as the Agency for Super-human Supervision, or for short, ASS.
Daniel was a member of said organization, he worked with the heroes for a time, assisting with the arrest and jailing of super humans that couldn’t be contained, along with helping assess situations to help organize allied efforts. Until one day something bonded him on a mission, some kind of spirit, nobody knew what it was and he submitted himself to countless tests. Ultimately it was deemed safe, and Daniel helped form one of the first government supervised teams, as one of their very own super humans.
Considered one of the greatest, he and his team fought alongside Marvelad and Stupendous, the most inspirational of heroes, the people everyone aspired to be. But this all changed for Daniel, he’s not quite sure why or when, nobody is; but one day he seemingly snapped, and he doesn’t care. At the end of a mission he was left with wrap up duty, instead of handcuffs he brandished an odd looking knife, and plunged repeatedly it into the defenseless villain.
It was then Daniel went AWOL and continued to kill villains, and even his fellow heroes when they presented themselves to him.
The entity that bonded with him all those years ago came from the depths of space, a fugitive of another world, seeking his next greatest thrill. It took him time to worm through Daniels mind, but in his mind the creature saw an opportunity, a glorious opportunity to create great fear, and most importantly.
The opportunity to feast.
And so Daniel wanders the darker side of the heroic age, hunting villains and heroes alike.
Powers:
Gem of Wegadmehlk. On one of his many adventures as a hero, Daniel like most heroes, took to keeping a collection of odd trophies. This is an item that never revealed itself to anyone before Daniels’ change. This gem, provides the user with the powers of those the user has killed. He has collected a few choice powers with this.
The gem itself is contained in a ring around his finger; it cannot be removed due to supernatural means.
Veined Dagger of Buhtbede. The item that made its debut with the “Psycho” hero’s appearance, Daniel must kill with this knife to gain powers, it channels the energy of its slain into the Gem of Wegadham.
The knife itself is strong, unbreakable due to its supernatural origins, and it can cut straight through most things. If thrown or lost it will reappear in its sheathe whenever the user wants or needs.
Enhanced Durability: The now superpowered Daniel is highly durable, his body is roughly 30 times that of steel. With his high tech ASS specialized suit Daniel can withstand much more damage, along with possessing a higher resistance to energy attacks.
Enhanced strength: Has been seen using cars as thrown objects in his fights, roughly 60 tons of strength.
Enhanced agility: Although he cannot fly, he can jump good, and extend his air time and control with his suit’s equipment. As a trained member of ASS he is also capable of certain combat reflexes and motions, and as such, he is highly agile.
Hunter’s stamina: Daniel has followed his prey for days, unrelenting, waiting for the right moment, to deliver the first and final strike. It seems he is mostly unrelenting, as long as he’s fighting one.
Hunter’s senses: Once he’s selected a prey he can track them across countries, he can follow and stalk victims with an enhanced sense of smell. If he concentrates his sight he can also see them through walls, and even through invisibility.
Energized Beam Mount: Back when Daniel worked with the government funded ASS, he was able to request and construct equipment designed to help him in his battles. One of such objects is an energized beam weapon hidden in his helmet, while it is small, it is not to be underestimated.
Arm Mounted Crossbow: In his time away from ASS he has been able to alter his suit even more, this crossbow allows him to fire his knife at blinding speeds, allowing him to cut down foes attempting to run.
Energized Suit Vents: Daniel’s suit can release a burst of energy from the bottom of his feet and from his hands, for quick use, or to coat his hands and feet. Originally these were used to traverse hazardous terrain, and apprehend villains that could coat themselves in harmful materials. Now he uses them to burn and maim others.
Duplication:He obtained this power from killing the hero known as Duplex, she could duplicate herself and her clothes down to the smallest detail, it’s a shame she didn’t have any other powers. When Daniel uses it his normal physical abilities are reduced by a fraction of what they are, he is also unable to replicate his knife and the ring.
Telekinesis:Taken from his first kill, the villain Mindcaster, he can lift objects as big as a couch, but his mental abilities are considerably weaker than that of their original owner. He has a range of around 10 meters.
Telepathy:Also taken from Mindcaster, he can sense feelings and even converse with others with his mind.He uses it to drive his prey mad when he delivers his final blow, along with savoring the wounds he gives to victims. His telepathy extends to that of about a mile.
Low level healing: Taken from sidekick Tackle Tom, his healing allows him to heal up minor wounds in mere hours instead of days. It’s how he stays ahead of his pursuers.
Wall-crawling:Taken from the villain Spindral, to Daniels’ surprise Spindrals’ webbing was not natural. Can cling to most surfaces, actually has a difficult time on windows as his suit interferes with how the power works.
Physical Descriptors:
He’s a fairly well built man, who continues to stay in shape with strenuous aerobic and cardiac exercises, these along with his low level healing make sure his body keeps in top shape at all times.
His ASS provided armor looks much like a muscle suit, with a silver chest plate, shin pieces, customized arm guards, and joint pads. His helmet looks much like a mannequins head but with white or clear eye lens. It also has an attached but raised portion running from his forehead to the back, much like the plume on a hoplite helmet, hiding his energy weapon.
The original colors of the suit were a “heroic” mix of red, white, and blue to represent the people and the government in the changing times. His blank faceplate was so that the common man could imagine themselves behind the mask. However, it is now covered in multiple places with both dried and fresh blood, along with a heavy dirt coating in some places. His prized dagger is always wet and can be seen dripping when he unsheathes it.
His own combat stance, while just as skilled if not more so than his past self, features a low hunched over figure. Keen on keeping to shadows for hunting prey, when drawn out he uses a fast and ferocious combo, intended to rip and tear his enemies apart.
Muscle suit inspired by this.
I might have gotten a little carried away, if something is especially shitty let me know, I'm a person too.
