The History of the Salem Witches and Trials

Witches are humans gifted with the power to affect change by supernatural or paranormal means, a practice known as a"witchcraft". In the 1600's, after an outburst of unnatural fits amongst the girls of Salem; a Carribean slave named Tituba (along with two other women) were accused of bewitching the said girls. Tituba, who was found guilty of witchcraft, attested that there are many other witches who lived by the riverbanks of the village. The hysteria amongst the villagers grew and grew; a lot of innocent human women were hanged, burned at the stake or drowned and the real witches decided to flee and sought refuge in New Orleans.

Cara's History

Cara is just a simple 17 year old girl but she isn't so simple afterall. She is one of the few descendants of the witches of Salem.

As a pre-adolescent kid (clueless about who what she was), she was often out with her friends and going to house after house after house until one night she came home and found her foster parents were killed by an unknown killer in New Orleans. She called 911 and told the story of what had happened; Being innocent of the crime, social services brought her to another foster family in which she ran away from and her encounters with different people drew out the witch in her.

After almost being molested by a drunkard in a homeless network, she accidentally sets the molester in flames. Remembering what she has learned in history, the Salem witches came into her mind and there she went to a public library in order to find more clue and evidences in what she really is. There she discovered more and more about the truth and was able to identify herself as a witch. She practiced and practiced different abilities that she has read about until she was able to control them at her own will.

She had gained too much attention in New Orleans and found herself walking or transmuting aimlessly from place to place. Without parents and fending off for herself, she's found a home in an orphanage far away from New Orleans. Here she could hone her abilities and learn more from the others.

The gates were as high as the eye can see, I guess they're protecting people here. Cara thought to herself. She sighed as she reached out for the gate's metal railing, it opened for her. Cara stepped back as she looked around then walked in; she was alone yet she felt something comforting about the place. The oak trees were big, some of it were dead and the moonlight was dim because of the thick clouds surrounding the sky, it was too dim to light the way. She held out her hand and conjured fire in the palm of her hand and walked towards the school's main door.

Cara closes her hand before stepping into the lobby, it was empty; just dusty furniture and old books, Do people even go here? she thought as she walked around the lobby then she heard chattering from the halls. "Is anyone there?" she said as she walked through the long halls of the school, "I'm not here to cause trouble, I just need a place to stay... even just for the night. I'm Cara... if anyone's out there." she continued on chatting, she could not found where the chattering came from; "I could- I could pay a fee if you'd let me stay for the night, I could clean the lobby if you'd want me to... I really just need a place to stay." she kept looking and she hears her stomach grumble; she would use her divination ability to find where the chattering came from... her body is too weak from days of walking around but nonetheless she tried, and so then she reached her hands out and closed her eyes, there were flashes of images and sounds in the back of her mind; spoons, plates, tinkling teacups and chattering people. The visions were a blur and it was hard to follow, she felt heavier and heavier until she dropped to the floor and lost consciousness.
