In character, the standard means that isn't chaotic is to simply start typing your response and either @mention the involved players and/or mention the characters involved in the interaction.

RP interactions, generally speaking, are a continued story, and your response is a small progression of the timeline from your character's perspective. You don't necessarily need to do the quote gig, especially if it's a 1x1 RP, where you simply continue the story back and forth in a line of posts.

Assuming I understood the question.

It may be helpful to go to a forum and read a few posts in an RP to get an idea of how the layout works.

@ArenaSnow It is for this exact reason that I've carefully cultivated ambiguity of my gender on this site. Comes in handy when I see a nice RP, but something stupid like this.
