That's a good point. Classics like The Little Mermaid were basically perfect the first time around and any remakes can only be worse. Remakes of the bad Disney movies are a second chance for them.

Hi there! I've been roleplaying for years, mostly in fantasy-type RPs. I don't like giving out too much about myself, but I am a man living in New York City (that's in the Eastern time zone, if you don't already know), over 18. Recently, I have been busy working, although I graduated from college and grad school a while back.

As the name implies, this fantasy RP will focus around a family, which here consists of a father, mother, and at least one child. It's somewhat vague, and the race of the parents can vary. I'm open to half-breeds, cross-breeds, two of the same species, whatever. Basically, the idea is that it would be an idealized version of what family life would be like, with a bit of drama thrown in to prevent it from getting boring or repetitive. Call it fluffy if you wish, much of it is intended to be. We can determine exactly what roles, powers, or other fantasy attributes the family has, but if there was a "default" scenario in mind, I would have it be a non-human father (a race that is physically stronger than humans), a human mother, both parents with magical powers, and at least one son and daughter either at the start of the RP or later on.
This is NOT a smut-centered RP and this most certainly is NOT a RP involving abuse, incest, or anything else of that nature. That said, as part of having a family involves breeding and romance on the part of the husband and wife, I will have to ask that the other player be over 18, although we don't have to act out those parts; I'm all for fading to black if that's what you wish.
As for who takes what roles, I am a man and best at playing male roles, but I can do females roles if the other players wants. Other characters can be inserted as the situation requires. Other elements such as the plot, the exact nature of the conflicts which occur, and specifics such as the race of the characters can be determined when we're discussing the game.
I'm aware that this is a rare genre to RP and that actual family life can be a bit more monotonous, hence why this would be idealized, and not subject to the same issues we have to deal with on a day-to-day basis. If you could have it a certain way without real-life problems or concerns getting in the way, I'm sure many players (especially the ladies, if I'm being honest) would have a fantasy about the family they'd love to have.

Had you asked me about the inner working of evocation or the history of the city of Minbenthac, I'd regale you with those subjects all night and into the next morning if you allowed me to, but I suspect you don't want that."
He looked over Rosalinde. She was clearly unusual in more ways than one. Not that he minded, but something about her words caused him to think deeply about the situation. Surely, there was something more to it than her simply being intrigued by an intelligent male. The Council had plenty of those, some of them unmarried, others willing to break their vows for a night on the town. No, what she wanted was something specific to him, and it wasn't just a date or a night of pleasure.
"You say you wanted a change of pace. What exactly did you mean by that? I can understand not wanting to attend these monotonous meetings and rather dry academic lectures, delving into pointless minutia, but there's something more than I'm not getting. I'm afraid you have me at a disadvantage here, Rosa. Please, feel free to enlighten this poor Dracon as to what it is you want." He didn't mention sex, for fear that it was way too soon and that it might scare her away, and for good reason.
