James simply nodded to Autumn as if to say thanks, then looked around at the others.
James shook his head, because he's not supposed to speak. Ashlyn looked at the counselors. "Um, my brother here isn't supposed to speak, so how is he supposed to play?" she asked.

James had been writing all this down without even looking at the paper, something he had learned from watching his brother. He was eagerly listening, glad to learn things from the woman that he used to think of as his idol, despite not not having met her when he did look up to her.
When Chase mentioned that looking at a grimoire without permission was worse than rape and murder, Joseph looked away, with an expression that seemed slightly guilty.

James looked at Chase. "Well, I don't know the exact names, but one type is the use of magic texts, such as grimoires and tomes, and chants to cast spells. It's one of the oldest ways to cast magic, and not very effective in a fight because of a slow casting time. Another type is the use of magic artifacts, but that's also not too effective because it requires you to have the object with you at all times, just in case."
Haru yawned as he walked out behind the one woman. "I'm not even going to bother telling them that I had just cut down the group of Aoto gang thugs in that area just before I met them," he said, and just kept walking, not seeming to care at all that he just ruined the magistrates' investigation.
