"We'll be contributing our own theories," responded Chase. "Plus some that are already accepted widely, but are a bit much for you to understand just yet."
Joseph nodded. "Yes. I couldn't have said it better myself," he said. James looked at them, and already had a notebook and pen out, ready to take notes on what they say.
yep. XD willpower is a powerful thing if you have enough of it.
Chase nodded as Joseph entered acknowledging his presence. She raised a small brow as he gave out his name. She already suspected it, but this was the guy that went around translating Magic Books here and there. Some of them were powerful enough to be mistaken for Grimiores - which was absurd of course, because there was no way to understand a person Grimoire with out the mage's explicit permission. Still, he was becoming pretty infamous around certain circles. Chase shrugged. It wasn't her business . . . yet. Seeing James, she gave the boy a casual wave of her hand. "Okay people, I'm here as your professor on Advanced Magical Theory. It's an open course, so anyone that thinks they can keep up is welcome to join at any time - of course, vice-versa is also possible, and if you're unable to keep up with the course, you can be dropped out at any time. I'll give you up until the end of this session to decide if you want to stay. Any question~?" she said cheerfully.
James asked, "So, are you both going to be contributing your own theories to the lesson, since this is a class on Advanced Magic Theory? Or are you going to be teaching the stuff that most magic theory classes teach, which every basic magic user should know?"
Dropping out, sorry!
but now James has no friends. Q.Q
James smiled. "I do," he said. "I have a collection of instruments, but I couldn't bring them with me because of all my art supplies." He chuckled. "Jewelry making sounds like a fun job. Almost as fun as trying to find the best view to paint."

Anna giggled as well. "It is, until you forget what you're doing and put a needle or a piece of wire through your finger. I'm a little shocked that you wear white shirts as a painter, though. Don't they get all splattered? Or charcoal-smeared?"
James chuckled. "I don't mind. It's all in the name of art," he said. "Everything is a form of art, no matter how beautiful or digusting. Even my shirts become a work of art once I'm finished creating a piece of art."
Relief filled Anna. He wasn't going to report her. Of course all the authorities had to know already, but he wasn't mad at her. She smiled. "I'm pretty fond of art, actually, but I'm more into music and, well, obviously jewelry making. Do you play music at all?" She asked. "If you do, at some point we might be able to write and play something together, if you wanted to anyway?"

James chuckled. "Okay sis, put her down. And put down the liquor too." Ashlyn pouted, and put down Annalyn, before taking a swig of her sake. "No. My sake." "You're drunk." "So?" "Put down the sake." "No." "Yes." "No." "Yes." "Noooo..." Ashlyn slurred the last word before taking another swig then leaving.

Anna rubbed her sides where Ashlyn had grabbed her. "Oh my. That was your sister?" She giggled. "Scary sister. Okay, good to know." Then she realized something. "Oh wait a minute. Since there was a... mixup... with your folder you don't actually know who I am. Right." She winced at how feeble the lie sounded. "My name's Annalyn, Annalyn Rivers. I usually go by Anna though. I'm a charm-maker-in-training." Again she winced; she wasn't supposed to tell anyone that she was only in training. Note to self, Anna, don't take a job where you regularly have to lie cause you'll screw it up badly.

James chuckled. "Don't worry. I know. My soulmate isn't supposed to come for a couple more years, which would be pretty annoying. Because by that time I would be too busy capturing art. So you actually helped me," he said. "Besides, of the information they did give me, I doubt I would get along with my true soulmate..."
Haru just happened to be passing through, when he noticed multiple magistrates around two people wielding blades. Of course, not really caring, he approached them. "What seems to be the problem here?" he asked, looking around at them. He didn't seem to care at all that all of the magistrates were carrying blades and that his outfit had a few bloodstains on it from an earlier fight, the ones on his white scarf being especially noticeable.
Annalyn grinned up at James. "I don't know that that's much of a compliment; I'd hope I'm more interesting than a blank piece of paper!" Then she yelped as Ashlyn picked her up a good foot and a half off the ground. She twisted, trying to figure out who the heck was hugging her so tightly. "Hello there? Please put me down so that we can have a civil conversation?" And hearing Ashlyn's comment she muttered, "And I'm not a "cutie." I'm just really short." She looked up hopefully at James. "James? Help, please?"

James just looked around, observing the others at the fire pit, while Ashlyn kept playing her tune(which apparently everyone has been ignoring). She switched to a happy tune that would put everyone in a good mood, to get rid of any nervousness of anyone at the camp.
