As long as you finish editing your first one and put him in the characters tab, sure!

I guess all we can do is wait for the IC to come out. If you're posting for Gaignun, I'd love you forever if you interact with Zashiki...hell, if he met the clan in the west and we're starting in O-Kuni then could it be possible that Gaignun brought Zashiki with him all the way from her family's grotto to the village? Then we'd have the pre-established relationship, he'd know a few of her tricks (no doubt the moment it turned dark on the first night Zashiki would've tried to bolt it) and she'd already know not to fuck around with him. Plus I may or may not think it would be really cute if Zashiki floated along in Gaignun's shadow/sat on his shoulder when it was bright an sunny. The height difference is hilarious.

Yeah, Gaignun and Kotori will be with the team. They won't be actively helping on missions (unless shit gets out of hand), kind of just in the background keeping tabs on everyone. They're more NPC, but I will be posting as them, so yeah, I can definitely have Gaignun bring Zashiki with him from the grotto.

The intro post is going to be en route to the village. Sorry for the delay, had a couple of things come up in RL I had to deal with. It's coming sometime today.

@LovelyAnastasia Nice job with Hisayo! She's accepted, but just to confirm for reference sake, as a nure-onna she has the body of a snake correct? I ask because the artist rendering has her with lower limbs and just wanted to make sure.

@Stitches Zashiki is approved! I was about to ask if she had a name until I read the misc.

Thanks again you two! Glad to have you on board. Adding a mage and ninja to the ranks really mixes things up now. Please put your sheets over at the characters tab. Looks like we have a good ratio of male and female characters.

provided I get accepted, would you be interested in a predetermined link to my character? She certainly needs someone to keep her in check; an unruly, slippery brat with a strong inclination towards deserting wouldn't simply be tossed into a taskforce without some gentle persuasion (read: bright light and copious amounts of fire) to keep her in line.

It's a rough guideline and I'm not keen on developing it until I get the OK from the GM, but I wanted to know your thoughts. And if anyone else wantsto take up that role, don't hesitate to volunteer; I'm really into character development. I'm sure we can work something out.

Unless someone already pm'd you, I'd love to have Gaignun be the one to look after her. I think the legend behind her people coming from The Shadowland would be a driving factor for him, since he at one point dealt with a major conflict from there. They have somewhat of a history together anyways considering her elders approached him about her recruitment into Hakumei. Let me know what you think :)

I think Leos said it best with his following post. I know I didn't explain how magic works in this world, but much like the avatar shows, the element has to be drawn from a source --- this applies only to using heavy level magic. Light and medium spells can be created out of nowhere, but of course it won't be as powerful. It's sort of my way to keep it balanced and allow you to get creative with the environment.

@Leos Klien I heard that Hiroyuki Sanada was initially supposed to be the main character, with Keanu in the background but the studio wasn't having that. There were a lot of cool moments in that movie that I enjoyed. Such a shame.

But yeah, Seven Samurai, Original 47, and Last Samurai I've seen. Great films. I've seen most of the Kurosawa films too - I think behind Samurai Seven, Yojimbo and Sanjuro are my favorites. Okamoto's Sword of Doom is pretty awesome too. I'll have to check out Bridge Over the River Kwai sometime.

I guess the latest Samurai flick that came out is Kubo and The Two Strings, but I haven't heard too much about it... and of course Season 5 of Samurai Jack sometime towards the end of this year. Can't wait for that.

Yes, a Monk or Mage would be nice. We've technically got another Swordsman in Kotori Raiden, and Gaignun is a Brick.

I watched 47 Ronin (with Keanu Reeves) for the first time the other night. Man, it had so much potential to be a really good movie... Anyone recommend any other more recent samurai flicks? 13 Assassin was probably the last one I watched before 47. That one was pretty good.

Bio: A young O-kuni thief turned rich artisan, influenced to become a warrior activist for her people before falling into an occult of darkness. Hisaya has lived many lives over the course of 6 centuries. She's loved and lost more times than she'd ever be willing to count. Now, she remains a devout warrior priestess to the Great Kagi Lord of The Tranquil Step. This path in her life is meant to serve as a karmic pilgrimage to atone for the unholy rituals committed as a chaos mage. Stripped of all magic, she is left with the burden of rage that once fueled her powers. With the aid of the Tranquil Step, she keeps her fiery nature at bay through meditation and honing of her bladed spider dance.

Special Ability: Complete 360 degree diameter field of vision within a 30 foot radius. This is the only ability that remained after The Kagi Lord of The Tranquil Step took away her chaos magic. Though she no longer possesses the ability to cast spells, she is knowledgeable about its use and application, proving to be a valuable consult about the arcane arts.
