Just placed 2nd with my robotics team at our tournament today. Only thing that kept us from 1st place was the dreaded L word: LAAAAAAAAAAAAG!!! T_T

What a day I've had! First a blackout no doubt caused by living near the Super Bowl stadium. Then a logical leap to work on my computer offline, aka clean a bit of dust inside only to nearly break it.

Bio

What's up people, here's my intro, just deal with it. B)

Anyways, this is my first time forum roleplaying, closest thing I've ever done to this would be chatroom Mafia and organizing a Facebook faction page for gameplay, besides IRL PnP RPing. However I'm quite prudent and dedicated to being online everyday just to check for posts and such. I'm also very (overly?) assertive when it comes to dealing with game mechanics and GM rulings, and I will raise issue with the GM when I find one that's loose, unsatisfactory, or missing (I may come off as a harsh critic at times, though offering an assistant GM role would help XD).

From what this site offers, I'm interested in joining up a Free, Casual, or Advanced Roleplay thread. Specifically I'm interested in:
- High fantasy
- Cyberpunk sci=fi
- Deeply conflict driven
- Anything idealist/philosophical bound (then broken)
- Based on character origin/progression
- But I'm willing to try anything else if it sparks my interest!

As Kristopher walked into class, he noticed a student setting down their feet from their desk, and rolled his eyes. One student may hate school just as much as the next, but it didn't mean they had to openly disrespect it. His name's Angelo, Kris thought, is it? All Kris knew was that he didn't talk much and gave the cold shoulder to everyone but teachers, plus roll call was now done through Neuro Linkers instead of by voice, so most students were rather forgettable.

But settling down in his seat, Kris smirked as he did remember someone important had her seat right behind him: Liliana "Lily" King. An 18 year old junior, flunked (hopefully, he mused) a grade in elementary, introverted to the point of mute, yet answered teachers' questions with judgement & logic, and has shown a soft side around animals, specifically her puppy she walks every so often. Flunkies were nothing new to San Francisco's "shithole", the rude student earlier being no exception, but what made her special was the secret she kept and he presumably uncovered: as prime suspect for the recent creation of Dual Avatar "Green Deer". Ever since the Avatar first appeared in the school network, Kris had been tracking it down, even spectating its first Duel (admittedly impressive) from the shadows. And by taking voice samples from the fight, it was nothing short of coincidence and luck that they matched the girl who happened to sit behind him in class. However, the appearance of a Duel Avatar within school meant her Guardian mostly likely was another student, and thus constantly watching her back, so Kris could make no move until he identified the pair.

He sighed. Not that he wanted to be creepy and stalk her, though no one outside of clubs bothered to notice him these days; he made sure of that a long time ago when he first enrolled in middle school here. Still, the thought of getting so close to another person...Kris dropped his smirk as Lily promptly walked in and took her seat, then the second bell rung.
Kristopher always woke up before his alarm. It really bugged him not to get those last precious minutes of sleep, though he had a habit of staring blearily up at his bedroom ceiling before his alarm finally woke him up completely, so it didn't matter. With a long sigh, he threw off the covers and literally rolled out of bed, cursing when the floor knocked out the last of his lethargy from his head. He picked himself up and headed for the dining room; his mother had already left for work, and warm breakfast was served for Kris beforehand along with a note: "Eat. Do better on test. Mom."

"At least she's feeding me well for it," Kris grumbled, settling down to eat. Between bites, he absentmindedly surfed the web on his Neuro Linker, checking his high school's daily bulletin, though he had no clubs to attend today. If only I lived more north or south, he thought, and I could've been attending school in SoMa or Silicon Valley. His mother didn't make enough to move again however, so for now his education was rather lackluster, even for someone at the top of his grade.

Allowing himself a self-indulgent grin, he switched gears, temporarily closing the internet connection on his Neuro Linker to double check the backdoor program he'd installed recently. This, along with regularly spoofing his IP address, allowed him to anonymously access local networks to check for possible Burst Linkers like himself, to gather information on possible BP "farms" while remaining hidden. He'd gotten to Level 3 this way, and though running low on BP, he'd never once had to Physical Burst, nor was he going down easily in a fight. Plus this was how he spent clubless lunches, where there was nothing to do but eat and relax or Burst Link; he especially enjoyed the pockets in time it created, so it wasn't as much of a guilty pleasure.

Dressed in his school uniform with blue junior tie, he walked the short distance to school from his apartment. Again, he made it to school before even the first bell rang, and grimaced at the thought of lost minutes of sleep piling up.
What spammer...? And my guy's not going to be here for quite a while, I suppose Jangel or I will have to prepare the hook to bring him in once he's ready.
@Jangel13 Might take a while, lol. I'll try to draw my own before resorting to Internet.
@Jangel13 I'm assuming my Character Creation Guide is approved, I've slimmed down the "Take A Step Back" section, but left the "Color Me Interested" original.

Also you should probably post a plot intro soon, so I won't be so confused as to why we're in university and not Japanese...

Real Name: Kristopher Cherry
Online Name: Aurrorian
Age: 16
Personality: Two different personalities depending on situation. Can be eloquent, suave, and somewhat overbearing (unless at a disadvantage, then more humility) in public or when words are required over action. Otherwise prefers to be relaxed, direct with words (especially criticism), and at times cold. Has a rather dry sense of humor, preferring sarcasm and situation if nothing else, but his teasing can be relentless. Keeps friends and acquaintances alike at arm's length, though wouldn't mind a personal talk (just no one would think of him as someone to relate with). When bored out of his mind, goes into deep daydreams that are hard to shake off. Gets along better with people not of his age for some reason (younger/older).
Background: Kris/Cher was raised by a single mother, his father having passed away after birth. His mother struggled to raise him as a son, because she could only pass along her feminine traits, however hard she tried to be masculine. As such, young Kris/Cher became friends with boys who would be considered socially awkward like himself, and girls that he never thought of being the opposite gender with, yet was gentle, kind, and understanding as a child. Mother disapproved in the end, and in a shocking move switched her son to a different school district when he was old enough for secondary. Kris/Cher began to break down from that point on, and after initial rebellion, reluctantly and coldly slipped into routine. His previous slacking grades turned into top of his class, graduating with honors from secondary and becoming a valedictorian candidate for high school, as well as being captain of the debate club. Students secretly admired his stoicism and mysterious airs, yet gradually turned away from him as he proved to be aloof to their advances. His mother turned to relatives to help her sculpt him into the "perfect" man, forcing him to enroll in martial arts (which he did enjoy) and various sports (which he failed at). But deep inside him a lingering sense remained to return to his past, happy life as a child, and to address his insecure masculinity and suppressed femininity as equals.
Other: Picks up any skill with relative ease and little instruction.

Avatar Name: Gun-Metal Fog
Level: 3
Relation: Pending
Abilities:
Limited Activation
Materialize - Fog can gather parts of his misty left half-body and form humanoid torso and limbs that match his right side. They can interact as a normal body part would, but any attack that would sever or mutilate a normal body part disintegrates it back into mist and deals damage.
Like Wind - Fog converts the right side of his body into more mist, and can expand his form until the individual molecules are invisible to regular eyes. While in this form he can float through air, slip through even the smallest of cracks (though takes longer to fully emerge), and even ride wind currents. Fog can only reform his body given enough room, anywhere else will damage him severely the tighter the squeeze.
Special Move
Hazy Clone - Fog duplicates an Enhanced Armament he's currently wielding and equips it to a Materialized left arm. Hazy Clone follows the same rules as Materialize, also if firing a ranged weapon, ammunition is replaced by depleting Fog's health for the percent of damage to deal.
Wound Tear - Fog widens a gap in armor or previous wound by inserting part of his misty left side and inducing pressure buildup in the cavity, can also be used with Daybreak. Deals less damage in game as it would feel to the Avatar.
Enhanced Armament:
Daybreak - Fog's personal pistol sword that he can vary the blade length between knife and sword. The pistol part is a six-shot revolver that reloads by forming cartridges out of mist (or can buy different ammunition from stores). A special property is that wherever a bullet strikes translates the target to an equivalent on the human body, and causes relative damage (a headshot being the most "damaging"), provided it strikes an unarmored area. Fog can wield the sword with his right hand, but prefers to relegate the Hazy Clone as a gun. Daybreak is also affected by Like Wind.
Legion: None.
I guess I have to be 18 too...I'm pretty sure it's harder to multitask as a university student and gamer than it is in high school...
@Caits Not meaning to be pushy, but you still need to change this for your CS.

Only 2 Abilities are available at Level 1, Limited Activation (passive toggle, Haru's wings) and Special Move (trump card). Any other attack can be made as long as it's within logical & physical bounds. Your Special Move would be Citron Call (might want to rename it for flavor's sake, maybe something to do with your swords). On level up you get to learn another ability of either type.
@Jangel13 And I'm done, switched to a more brief, direct tone of writing, so shorter paragraphs & less eye sore.
@Jangel13 "Take A Step Back" is now ready, check it out if you want to refine your background.

Someday I'll be sure to slim down my walls of text, but for now bear with me. XD
