Eira Winters | Antartica

Some of the birds went up, following those who had gone through the roof. It seemed like Peter was handling that fine though, and with the reduced offence downstairs, Eira finally turned her quirk off. The others in the room would feel the difference instantly, the cold washing away, and the floor's ice cease spreading. She, however, would take much longer to warm up. No longer needing to focus on maintaining her quirk, she was free to do as she liked now.

Freya returned down, only to be met with an attack (Eira was almost relieved she wasn't the only one to be attacked, though she was more worried for Freya's well-being than anything). Renard stepped in to help, and everything, to put it lightly, went to shit. She watched them, fighting off the birds with much more strength now, but not for too long. While she was distracted, she didn't notice the woman with the stinger until she felt a light prick at the back of her neck. She whipped her head around, but the sharp point was gone, as Eira saw the woman use her tail to hit away a rouge fire extinguisher. Gabby, most likely. She gave a grateful nod in her direction. But as she turned to do so, out of the corner of her eye, Eira saw the courtyard.

Freya and Renard. What the hell happened.

She changed courses almost immediately, rushing as quickly as she could towards the two. The extinguisher rolled alongside her, and she quickly picked it up and opened it, tossing it right back at the scorpion woman. Eira could only pray it would do something.

She reached Freya and Renard pretty quickly, breathing heavily. The villain girl didn't seem to be down, but she wasn't doing too great either.

"What the hell- ok, time to get out, " she said, before looking down at Renard. Something flashed through her eyes - concern, worry, sympathy - but her expression switched back to what it had been before almost instantly. "Renard. Renard, we're fucking leaving. Get up." She grabbed his arm, perhaps a little roughly in her agitation, but felt no shock as Freya had did. None left to spare for her?

She gave him a sharp tug, trying to get him to stand, but let go immediately after. Don't do that. Don't touch him. She motioned to Freya as well. They'd been here for long enough, and she wasn't in any kind of mood to stay for another second. Besides, was it just her, or was it absolutely freezing?

"It's us and Gabby. We'll just use the damn door. Get up." And if he did, there was nothing to say except for that she (and hopefully Freya and Renard too) would make a break for it. Gabby was a little closer to either of the potential exits too, so she would be fun. Today, they would all be getting out alive.

Let's go solve some murders! (and hopefully not get murdered in the process)
Effie watched the newcomer enter with the discretion she had used for the others, which was to say, with none at all. While some of her new allies were older than her, some by a considerable degree, some of them seemed pretty young. But then again, contracts didn't have an age limit on them. If they were willing to go, they could go.

She didn't know any of them, which came as no surprise, but the name Kissinger did ring a couple of bells. From that, as well as the way as the others held themselves, there really were some high class names in the room. Including herself, clearly. Perhaps they would not know her face, not many would, but they would recognise her name. Which she had forgotten to tell them. She sighed to herself, leaning forward to get another biscuit. There would always be another opportunity.

"Well, Miss Arinne, sharing is caring, is it not?" Effie said sweetly. Despite the possibly patronizing implications, she was being completely genuine. After all, why shouldn't she have another? There were still a considerable amount left, and it would be awful to have such nice biscuits go to waste.

"This does seem like an awful lot of people for just one murderer. I don't suppose it would be too forward to assume that there is more to this than you're telling us," she continued. "Oh, but it's lovely to meet you, Mister Samuel. And the rest of you, of course!"

Eira didn't move from the spot she was standing in for the most part, concentrating on her quirk while hitting the birds off the best she could with a non-physical quirk. It seemed that the cold was going some good, even if it did affect her classmates too. They were managing fine, and it was doing more good than bad, since they were also having an easier time against the onslaught of birds. Despite how dire the situation had seemed, it looked like things weren't going as badly as they could have been. That didn't mean that they could relax at all, but that maybe they could get out alive.

Peter broke through the ceiling at last, and Renard and Freya exchanged awful, awful puns. In this kind of circumstance, Eira couldn't find it in her to be angry about them, even to herself. It was nice that they could find it in them to lighten the mood even a little bit. She continued to do what she had been doing: concentrating on her quirk while keeping as many birds off of herself as she could. It was going well, and she was so stuck in that trance that she didn't notice to blade swinging towards her until it was a bit too late to dodge. Even if she wanted to, she wouldn't have been able to. She was frozen to the spot.

Thankfully, she didn't need to. Just as the blade was about to send her to an untimely demise, Sofia barrelled right into her, sending the two of them to the ground. Eira didn't miss the nasty cut that formed on her leg as a result. She should've just dodged it. She was really having enough of being saved today. She told herself that she could handle herself, but there was the nagging reminder that she'd be dead twice if not for the help she had received.

"Sofia. Uh, thanks, I guess," she started, not quite meeting her eyes. She sat up, ready to help Sofia up, or even carry the damn girl back home even if it killed her. It was the least she could do. But then disaster number three struck, in the form of a fire extinguisher. The universe was really against her today.

She couldn't help but feel a little disappointed that she was going to be offed by this instead of the blade. Perhaps it was a little weird to be more bothered about the cause of death than actually dying, but Eira couldn't find it in herself to be particularly afraid. She didn't need to be either, because she was saved once again by Renard. It was getting less thrilling each time it happened. She gave him a small smile and muttered a weak thanks, but he had already turned to Freya so she guessed he wouldn't notice.

He offered Eira and Sofia a hand, and then Freya shouted to them. It was pretty obvious who should go, right?

"Get Sofia and go. She's injured. I can handle myself, and besides, I need to keep my quirk up. Get her help," Eira said, in an almost commanding tone. She'd kind of forgotten, what with everything that was happening, but god, she was cold. If her class was affected by the cold, than the eternally freezing Eira would have been worse. A light shiver ran down her spine, but she gritted her teeth and stood, offering to Sofia to help her up. It doesn't matter if I'm cold if everything is cold. Help her up. Get through it. Having said that, she would still do her best to make as little physical contact as possible.

It would be difficult to get Sofia out later, especially with an injured leg. Maybe Eira would be stuck and maybe she'd get hurt too, but it was worth it, wasn't it? She couldn't keep getting saved, she had to save people herself. As long as they could keep away from the villains, they'd all get out alive. And they were doing pretty good on that front...

Right?

Effie had been sitting in her chair for some time now, perhaps for the longest out of all of those in the room. She didn't mind though. She had been - and still was - entertaining herself with tea and biscuits, which were rather good. For the first time in much too long, the Dalraan heir was out of the house, and without her father, too. It was nothing short of a miracle, that the contracts would be called in while he was so unwell.

Effie had been quietly observing the others in the room as they came in (rather unsubtly), staring at them with her wide grey eyes. She hadn't had any expectations, but she wasn't disappointed. When Arinne entered, tailed by a girl with odd silver hair, Effie smiled and waved at them, before going back to her tea. She sat there and listened for a minute or two before she finally spoke up.

"I think you can, in some places. Oh! But you should look it up, just in case," Effie said, smiling. She leaned over to pick up another biscuit (how many had she had now?). "But yes, I would like to know some more details. You see, I don't really know much of this 'Jack the Ripper' either."

This, however, was not because of flights or foreigners. As a matter of fact, Effie had lived in London for a lot of her life. She had a much simpler, though somewhat embarrassing, excuse: no one had told her about it.
Finished my CS!

who needs offence when you can pull off some convoluted plan against equally convoluted stands D:<
I'm not done with the CS, but I have filled in the stand section so you can give that a review.

edit: done!

I'm still up for joining this RP, but would I be able to get some confirmation on whether there's space?

If Eira had ever had anything against Hayes, she absolutely did not anymore. She hadn't even had time to react before Hayes had stepped in and saved her from whoever the hell that was - she shivered slightly, thinking of what could have happened if he hadn't. She muttered a brief thanks, heart racing.

But now they were surrounded. Two on the left, two on the right, Enterprise cut off from the rest of the group. These villains were co-ordinated. Then the birds came in.

"Hey, what- how," Eira hissed, trying to bat the birds off of herself. It didn't work very well, and they continued their unrelenting attacks. There had to be a better way to get rid of them than this. If they had to keep fighting off birds while everyone else closed in, they were as good as dead. These villains were the real deal. What an awful coincidence that they all happened to be at the factory on the same day.

Eira calmed her breathing, trying to focus. A better way. She could try that. She made things cold, which was kind of a hazard with all of her classmates still in the room. Having said that, birds were much smaller than them. If she were to use a temperature that was low enough to be dangerous to birds, but not to humans, that might work. She could cover a pretty decent amount of the room too. That was settled, then. Her classmates could complain later.

She activated her quirk and the drop was instant. The room went from an acceptable temperature to cold, and Eira just hoped it was enough to stop the birds, even a little. She resisted the urge to shiver. This had better work.

It would only be a minute or so before Eira's ice began to form along the floor. It would then be a couple few minutes before she would have put herself out of commission for the rest of the fight. Priorities: stay warm, make sure everyone else is safe. Something about teamwork, too.
