Perhaps it could take some degree of extra mental effort to impart a force to someone who isn't willing to be moved, rather than specifically channellers? That'd totally bypass the issue of moving inanimate objects while still preventing someone who's only 80-90lbs. from being extremely easily flung like a shot-put. We're mostly looking at a minmaxed character at the moment - not very easy to put forth a 100% satisfactory solution that everybody can accept fresh out of the box if a character's powerset is a hard counter specifically to 'big hits', and more specifically, big melee hits.

Look at any boxer out there. They can typically block most punches without breaking a sweat, but in any reasonable matchup, punches will eventually get past their defenses simply by merit of their defense not protecting the one specific spot that a shot leaked through at that moment. Likewise with swordsmen and other weapon users. Nullification is extremely useful, but only impenetrable in specific circumstances - extremely one-sided fights, narrow corridor fighting, etc. We're talking about a huge guy with muscles for brains here - any number of things can completely bypass his tricks. I don't really consider it to be a big issue if he can stop, say, a greatsword, so long as the guy with the greatsword is perfectly capable of letting go of the weapon and quickly punching him in the face instead.

@tipssyCalibrator

I'll write in roughly a half second of preparation time for focusing his momentum modification tricks. Add in quarter-second reaction time, bringing it up to effectively 3/4ths of a second to block a strike. That should be sufficient to allow for extreme defense against massive strikes, but still long enough for the characters focused on rapid strikes to cause mayhem. Sound good?
@Cu Chulainn

Hamburgers fuel his intense rage, permitting usage of American Flags in absurdly creative ways - most of which are very painful.

@Cu Chulainn, have him use American flags as doorways that he can go between, sort of like teleporting... except he can only "teleport" between American flags.

American Imperialism at its finest! Plant a flag everywhere!
@Zero Hex

Would you be happy if I were to write it up as condensing work/effort into a slightly inefficient, instantaneous application of force that requires pre-planned intent? Something to the tune of being able to move objects almost as effectively as he would realistically be able to move them under his own natural strength - output in joules of the natural body converted to instantaneous output in joules on the object in contact.

I'm getting the feeling that you're assuming that this sort of thing can be taken far, far further than it would be possible in the IC reality.
@Zero Hex

I'll give it a few more tweaks to get it a bit more consistency, then. For the most part I'm aiming for a healthy balance against other characters who can happily blast boulders to pieces without much thought, honestly. Preparation is pretty much necessary for anything he does, so I'll do some further editing to reflect that and possibly make a few modifications to the later tricks up his sleeve, provided I can think of a suitable alternative.

Note: Common sense applies. Every edit I'm making here increases the length of the CS and makes it flow less well despite not actually adding anything that shouldn't have already been implicitly understood. I will happily clarify the language further if necessary, but it won't realistically change the outcome of the character.
@Zero Hex

Offset by his total lack of brainpower. Were he some sort of genius it may be problematic, but as it stands, it takes a bit of concentration to actually pull anything off. It's not exactly something he can do on a moment's notice. I'd say it's also reasonable for his strength to be limited by his own physical and mental endurance - so chucking a car, while possible, is a one-time thing and he's completely spent.

As such, rapid successive strikes are the way to go with him. Anything moving fast will also take him down a notch easily, as will close range detonation of projectiles that don't actually touch him before exploding. I'd say that a lot of the characters in the RP can kick his ass fairly easily at the moment.

I can go ahead and edit the CS to reflect his endurance and planning requirements if that'd help.

Edit: Long story short, gotta see something to catch it.
Edit edit: Tweaked CS for clarification.

Here ya go. One character application, fresh off the stove. Not entirely sure what sort of Channeler he is, so it's up to you. Open to negotiations on abilities.

Hugo calmly stood outside with his coffee pot. It was a small coffee pot, still half full of delicious coffee, and he was drinking straight out of it instead of sipping from a mug like a civilized person.

He looked over at Cindy and waved.

Raaawk was slowly waking up. The sunlight encouraged him to start moving about a bit more, and he stretched his wings before hopping off the roof to the common area in front of the doors with a loud crash.

He was still too sleepy to really notice anybody else, but by some miracle, he didn't crush anyone. He looked to the sky and started off the morning with some light dragonsong - responding in chirps and whistles to the local songbirds' songs in turn.

Cindy was to his right, and Hugo was on the other side of her. Students were wandering out.

The Next Day

Hugo awoke once more in his bed. The previous night had been intensely loud, with banging and burning and stomping around directly above his head. Someone had apparently taken up a space on the roof right on top of his room. He turned over onto his right side and buried his face in his pillow, cursing the bad sleep he'd gotten, but at least he'd gotten some. The noises seemed to have stopped at around midnight.

He grumbled and rolled over a few more times, trying to get comfortable. It didn't work, so he threw the freshly cleaned blankets off of himself and stood to make coffee in his mini-kitchen in his pink pajamas.

Some time later, his coffee was finished - some high end brand of caramel toffee flavored coffee, which he drank with gusto. Satisfied with his morning, he sleepily changed into his black Adidas tracksuit again and wandered outside.

Raaawk sleepily opened his eyes and glared at the sun. It was too early for it to be out, but he'd learned that arguing with nature didn't generally go well. One time, he'd tried to fly into the sun to kill it, but nearly suffocated and crashed back into the ground, fracturing his right wing.

He rolled out of his 'bed' of leaves and ground charcoal to give himself a quick brushdown with the large, rough brush he packed. Some minutes of brushie brushie later, he put it down and pulled out a very fine brush to fix his ruffled crown and chin feathers. Satisfied with his cleaning, he shook himself off, sending a spray of black dust across the rooftop, revealing a brilliant shine and scattering rainbow sparkles across the courtyard.

Clean once more, Raaawk wandered to the edge of the rooftop and perched himself on the handrail to overlook the students that morning. He would be impossible to miss for anybody wandering outside.
@Emnosym

Good on you for being cool :)

I just thought it was amusing.
