Hey guys! So, we've been off hiatus for a few days now. We're nearing the part where everyone will be able to meet up and go very soon.

For my birthday, I got a new tablet to replace my old broken one. I'm needing to get used to it, so I was thinking it'd be cool to do some sketches of everybody's characters (if that's okay with ya'll). I have the descriptions of your characters in your character sheets, but if there are any other details or special sketch requests you have, please feel free to shoot me a PM. I'll likely be PMing some people to clarify stuff as I start the sketches anyway. <3
Rowena stopped mid turn, intending to lead them down the conjoining hallway.

"How do we know we can or even should trust you?"

She was silent for a moment before a conceding sigh left her lips, "I suppose there's no way of truly knowing... but maybe I can entrust you with a secret of mine? In exchange for a moment of your time to explain?"

She waved aside her cloak and pulled a small cloth from her satchel. As she did so, her cloak was jostled just enough to reveal the long sword resting at her opposite hip as well as the finely made leather armor she wore. She brought the cloth to one ear, running it along the edges as if she was trying to wipe something stubborn off of her skin. As she removed the cloth, her long, unmistakably elven ear was revealed. She quickly did the same with the other ear, leaving a black, powdery looking substance with a glittery sheen all over the tip of the cloth.

"Will this suffice?" Rowen asked, her lips twitching into a coy smile. Saevel had told her that revealing her identity should be enough to ensnare their trust.

"Or at least their curiosity," he'd added.

"There is much I need to tell you all... about your unique abilities. Where they came from and why you have them...," Rowena trailed off, looking apologetic, "But it would be best if we found the others first."
I don't know about the GM, but it doesn't bother me. I would rather wait a few days for a post than have to figure out how to respond to a half-assed one-- but maybe that's just me.

I want my character to perceive your character the way you want your character to be perceived. That sounds complicated, but it's the simplest way I can think to phrase it. I myself can tell you're not trying to make Steven an idiot or a jerk, but when things like this happen, I can't in good faith dumb down my character to go along with it. Especially when my character is suppose to be very logical and attentive to detail. I'm hoping you understand where I'm coming from. I'm really not trying to come off as an ass, but it's frustrating.
You rewrote the post twice and I even posted about him taking the horse in the OOC between the first time you wrote it and the time you rewrote it. The fact that the old man was talking to Abel was hinted at THREE TIMES in the GM's post. "Remember where I told the Inn was?"

....you didn't stop and think "Hmmm this guy never told Steven where the Inn is. Maybe he's not speaking to Steven."

Then there's the fact that he writes "Then looking at Abel" before offering the horse.

THEN he also says "It will be faster than running. The doctor is not as strong and fast as your friend here."

How odd that the old man would be referring to Steven in that way? Could that possibly further indicate that the old man ISN'T TALKING TO STEVEN????

I'm not sure I can stay in this roleplay if the world is going to keep revolving around your character just because you don't read the posts properly or even apologize for taking away opportunities for my character to do stuff that gets him involved with the plot.
Frankly, I find it annoying and extremely disrespectful. I'm doing my best to help the plot along and I read every post carefully to make sure I understand what my fellow roleplayer is intending to do so I can write a good post. Is that too much for me to hope for? That same mutual respect?
So-- question.

This is the first time in a while I've seen a post with at least two sentences dedicated to Steven's thought process. There was absolutely no mental explanation for why Steven took the horse when the old man clearly permissed Abel to take it.

Now, obviously because you never mentioned it you can make up whatever explanation you want for Steven's thought process, but for curiousity's sake I have to ask:

Is Steven really that stupid or was he just being a hugely conceited dick?

Honest question. It's one or the other and Abel himself is just making guesses. I was just wondering which one it actually was-- especially since his character sheet doesn't mention anything about him being stupid OR a dick. So this must be a new attribute. For story telling purposes, I would just like to mentally note it for the future.
Abel watched silently as Steven dismounted, picked up Saatur without so much as a word to the boy, and remounted. Abel would have gladly offered to help give the kid a boost onto the horse, if he needed it. That would have been much faster, but Steven hadn't given him the chance. Wasn't the kid old enough to mount the horse on his own anyway? Oh well... As it were, he was content to sit back and let Steven keep doing whatever he wanted. Abel was done trying to understand the kids logic-- or lack thereof.

"No clue," Abel answered flatly, "Just ask the kid. I'm sure he knows where he lives. Just get going already."
It's not like he has to deliver Saatur straight to his mother's door-- Abel is more suggesting that he might as well take the kid to town since he's heading that way anyway. I honestly don't care either way.

Not that this seems to be of any concern whatsoever to Steven, but Abel WILL be even more angry should Steven shoot down his suggestion. Abel is stuck in a very awkward situation at the moment since Steven decided to take the horse from him. If he disagrees with Abel's suggestion in his current state, Abel will want to argue-- which could potentially waste even more time. Steven so far doesn't seem to have acknowledged the fact that Abel is mad at him, however. So if it is your intention for Steven to continue being oblivious to this fact, that tidbit shouldn't have any influence over whether or not Steven agrees to take Saatur or not.

It's completely up to you. I am simply stating where Abel is temperament-wise if you want to have Steven consider that before making his decision. I honestly don't care either way.

With Saatur not being comfortable in his presence-- it didn't stop him before, so I see no reason why it should stop him now. Saatur doesn't want to go home. Whether it's Steven or Abel taking him-- doesn't seem like it should matter.
In light of recent events, there literally is nothing for Abel to do at this point in time. I would rather wait for a post from you after Santa posts, if that's cool.
@lydyn Which roster are you checking? The one in the character sheet section is updated. I'm giving those who have been missing without any communication until the 20th before I consider them officially gone forever. In the meantime, however, Jenno and I will be puppeting their characters. Those whom I've marked as pending are the ones who haven't gotten back to me in he last week. The 20th is when I'll be updating the roster on the first post of the OOC. I just don't like clutter in the OOC post is all, so I always update the character sheet one first.

@Dervish Hope you have a speedy recovery :(
Alright-- post is up for Branda, Audra, Petra, Raine, and Randall!

@lydyn, Jenno will be working on your post and told me it should be up by Tuesday.

@Captain Jenno, this next part is going to be a little bit of back and forth conversation. If you would like, you can PM me your response and we'll do a short collab post.

@Undine, I would suggest the same for Raine and the boy, but with Randall still observing what's going on, he may wish to get involved.

Me and Jenno have decided we will be puppeting Leon and Elspeth. As of now, we do not have any plans to seek out replacements for them. For those of you who have not yet met with Rowena, just know that the characters you are currently interacting with can and will lead you towards her and the others. We're getting close to the next part and things are going to get intense. For those in Jeorvo, you are not obligated to engage in deep conversation with the characters you've been presented, but do know that what you find out now may help your character further along in the story.

I've been working on a survey-like thing and it should be ready tomorrow. Don't worry- it's quite short and it'll help me get an idea of what kind of stuff you guys would like to see in the future of the roleplay.
