Pokemon: Storm

Edit: Oops, just missed you. Can we shoot for 3:30 today. That's about the latest I can do before I have to get ready for work at 5:00PM. Are you on Eastern Time too?

Okay, the stage is set. Now we need to arrange real life times to battle via Pokemon showdown: Daniel vs Jill, Indigo vs Jack. I have their teams ready; we just need to be online at the same time.

I can do any time in the next two hours for sure (i.e. noon here in Eastern Time). I can probably do anytime till 3:00PM ET as well, but I'd rather do sooner. After that, I work for the rest of the day.

After our battles. We can dramatize them in the IC section.

Remember to only use moves that your Pokemon could actually have learned via leveling up, and only use items that you have found IC. In other words, Indigo could equip Kee Berries in this battle, if they get used, then you must remove them from your inventory. Also, no hidden abilities, only regular abilities permitted.

Oh, and did I mention that you should be building your teams in the Anything Goes format? I think I did but just making sure.

...The human barely held her with any force. She screeched loudly and planted herself in front of Jack. This was the human she wanted to challenge!

"I mean just ignore her. You're prolly too tired to battle..." Indy said.

"Wait, Indy... I know this might sound like a bad idea but, Those two are new trainers like us, At least I think, cause they only have one Pokemon apiece."

Dan took a breath, About to suggest something he knew Indy wouldn't like.

"So...Since Hawka wants to battle, how about we grant her wish and battle 'em. You can take the guy, and I'll take the girl. What do you say? I'm sure they'd have no problem with it. Right you two?" Dan asked, Directing the last question towards the Twins.

The fiery little bird had bravely stepped in their path, specifically in front of Jack. What was with this Pokemon? Why did it want to battle against him? And who said anything about them only having one Pokemon each?

Jack was just about to deny their battle request when Jill spoke up, "Wait." Her simple word stopped him, and he turned his attention to her to listen. A grin started to creep across her face. "This might be exactly what we need! We've been training non stop. I think it's time for a battle! Plus, this could be our first chance to show those bozos outside what we're really about!"

Jack thought about it. 'It would be nice to establish their own image, instead of riding the curtails of their parents.' With a nonchalant shoulder shrug he said, "Okay. We accept your challenge. Let's go outside shall we?"

Together the four trainers walked outside. Most of the people from the crowd moments ago were still there; they immediately rushed the twins, as well as Daniel and Indigo who were right beside them. With a charming smile and a loud booming voice, he quieted them. "It looks like we've had an interesting turn of events!" With and outstretched hand, he motioned toward Daniel and Indigo. "These two trainers have challenged us to battle!"

The crowd started buzzing with excitement. Jill picked up where he left off. "And we have accepted!" The crowd's excitement continued to build. With an aggressive but graceful move she whipped herself around to face the challengers. "How about we use two Pokemon each? You do have two Pokemon don't you?"

Jill's face was painted with true happiness; this was her chance to prove her strength! Jack on the other hand, turned his back to the crowd, and in doing so, lost some of his showman's smile. A calculating air of confidence replaced it.

At first Jill just stared at Indigo, unsure what to think. Was he pretending not to know them? Or was he actually clueless? But she was too flustered to care. Her eyes rolled. "You have no idea." She then turned to her brother. "Let's go."

Jack shrugged and nodded as he followed his sister right past Daniel and Indigo. "If you'll excuse us..."

Meanwhile: Just Outside the Hotel...

A crowd had gathered around Jack and Jill. It was like a miniature paparazzi ambush. "There they are!" "Can we see your starter Pokemon!?" "I can't believe they bent the rules for these kids." "Autograph! Autograph my shirt please!" "Jack is so cute!" "What is she wearing?"

Jill's face was beginning to turn red with anger. She wanted to become a trainer to get away from all this hassle. Why did these idiots care so much about what she wore? A trainer can't be expected to walk around in a pretty dress all day long can they!?

Just before she was about to explode, Jack closed his eyes and held up two fingers in the air. "Quiet!" "He's gonna say something!" In a matter of moments the crowd fell silent.

He had them in the palm of his hand. He opened his eyes and spoke with a soft smile. "We appreciate your excitement, but I think I speak for both of us when I say," He then flashed his pearly white teeth in a wide smile. "You're embarrassing us." The girls in the crowd gasped; the air in general became light and enjoyable. Before anyone could ask a question he continued. "The reason we are here today is to announce the launch of our new blog site, 'Jack & Jill Adventures .com'. There, we will update the world on our adventures and answer all your questions personally!"

The crowd grew excited with this surprise announcement. Even Jill looked a little surprised for a split second, until she realized what her brother was doing. He was lying. There was no website. This wasn't some press meeting. But with an honest smile, he had tricked them all. The redness drained from her face as she realized this. "Jack! You said we were going to wait for the press to get here!" She gave him a playful slap on the shoulder.

The crowd stood entranced as the two improvised some playful banter. But after a few minutes, they gracefully dismissed themselves and returned to the safety of the Trainer Hotel, where the general public could not follow. Once inside Jacks smile faded quick, and Jill's brow furrowed.

Voice full of malice, she said to Jack. "Does this place have a side door? We gotta get the hell out of here."

"I know." He breathed quietly.

Daniel and Indigo were the only other people in the room, besides the front desk clerk.

Jill (Gym Rival)

Name: Jill Ray

Appearance:


Personality: On first meeting, Jill usually comes off as hyperactive and a bit reckless, but when she gets serious, her intensity is frightening. Despite her rash competative nature, she does have a heart of gold.

Biography: Jill is the daughter of Septoh's long standing Grand Champion and the most decorated Pokemon Coordinator in Septoh. She has a twin brother, and in their relationship, she is often the leader. She has a habit of talking more than she listens, but her brother has learned how to get her attention when there is something important to discuss.

Growing up, their home life has always felt a bit hallow due to her father's nonstop training and her mother's frequent vanity tours. In other words, they never really bonded with their father, and they were constantly dragged around by their mother to be in front of cameras.

Jill always resented life on the road and all the glam and fashion that went along with it. She longed to be more like her father, free to travel and dress for the elements, not for the cameras. For this reason, she fostered many conflicting feelings toward her father: resentment, admiration, jealousy, and pride. As far as her mother is concerned, she will play the happy child while in front of the cameras, but when the cameras are off, she is very short and borderline rude to her.

It was Jill's constant pressure that got her and her brother off to an early start (as this region's rules generally state that all new trainers should be at least fifteen years old). It was on a rare visit from her father, that he heard of her desire and determination. Excited by this, he pulled all his weight to bend the age restriction. His wife, their mother, disagreed with the decision, because she preferred having her poster children by her side. But with a little persuasion, she was convinced that this would be a good PR move.

Jack (Contest Rival)

Name: Jack Ray

Personality: On the surface, Jack is careful to present himself as a well kept, friendly gentlemen, but this is only his public persona. In actuality, he is rather cold and uncaring. He makes all his decisions based on cold-hearted logic.

Biography: Jack is the son of Septoh's long standing Grand Champion and the most decorated Pokemon Coordinator in Septoh. He has a twin sister, and in their relationship, he often finds himself in the support role. He finds it easier to simply listen and go with the flow, but when he sees something that he disagrees with, he is quick to step in and remedy the situation.

Feeling abandoned, he claims to care less when anyone talks about his father, but he will tell you so in much more eloquent wording.

When he and his sister turned fourteen, she began campaigning to become trainers earlier than the normal fifteen years old. He wasn't nearly as excited, but did share the desire to travel freely, or at least do something new with his life. When his father stepped in to support their goal, Jack begrudgingly accepted the man's assistance. Ultimately though, it was Jack's gift for persuasion that convinced his mother that this would be a good idea.

Richard (Master Thief)

Name: Richard Gareth
Age: 34
Gender: Male

Appearance:


Personality: Richard is usually a calm headed man, who calculates his situations carefully. He can also be very charming and sociable when it suits his goals. Very rarely does he loose his cool, but when push comes to shove, he's not afraid to show his teeth.

Biography: Richard comes from the Gareth Family in Cerulean City. He is the uncle of Daniel Gareth and younger brother of Christopher Gareth.

A little known fact, the Gareth men are known for joining groups such as Team Rocket. Some say it's in the Gareth blood. Richard is no exception to this. He joined Team Rocket as soon as he turned 18 years old, just like his older brother did many years before.

Unfortunately, Team Rocket was officially disbanded only five years or so after he joined, just when he had climbed the ranks and was no longer being considered a "grunt".

His older brother, who had been in the organization much longer, was not as upset by this, especially since he had just met the woman of his dreams. He was fine hanging out with his old Team Rocket buddies and reminiscing about the crazy times they had.

Richard, on the other hand, decided to go to work for himself. In other words, he began to secretly gather old members of Team Rocket, those that also didn't want to be done. With his natural charisma and leadership skills, he was able to build a solid group of thieves. Together, they would (and still to this day) pull off many successful heists.

Not many people know that Richard is a part of this group of thieves, nevertheless their leader. But after many years of evading police, everyone knows the group's name: "Rocket X"

Jomo (Gym Leader @ Shamba Town)

Name: Jomo Adebayo
Age: 45
Gender: Male

Appearance:


Personality: Jomo is an honest hard working man. He revels in the simple life.

Biography: Jomo came from a long line of farmers. From a young age, he was working the fields with his many brothers and sisters. But he always had another calling as well, training Pokemon. When Jomo turned sixteen, he begged his parents to let him go on a Pokemon Journey, promising to return one day. His parents agreed. He spent the next five years of his life as a Pokemon trainer and became quite a well known trainer in Septoh.

When Jomo turned 21, he met a woman in his home town and fell in love. They got married a year later and had a child named Mbali. That is when he decided to quit being a trainer and stay home to take care of his family. But after a few months, after Mbali was born, Jomo's wife noticed something off about her husband, a sadness in his eyes. When she confronted him, he confessed to missing his life as a trainer, but he knew he couldn't keep that life forever. He had responsibilities.

Months later, as fate would have it, Septoh's "Earth Arena" shut down. Jomo's wife was the first person to suggest that he should take over this mantle. That way, he could stay home and have trainers all over the world come battle him. Excited by the prospect, Jomo reached out to the Septoh's Pokemon League and pleaded his case. Luckily, they deemed him fit to run the "Earth Arena". He would be the Gyme Leader, and his wife could be the Head Coordinator.

Name: Mbali Adebayo
Age: 24

Personality: Mbali is usually quiet and reserved, but the moment she begins a battle or stands in front of a crowd, she becomes the star of the show.

Biography: Mbali is Jomo's first born daughter. She has two younger siblings, a brother and a sister. Growing up, Mbali spent her days in her father and mother's "Earth Arena". She especially loved watching her mother's contest battles. They were beautiful.

When she turned sixteen, she asked her parents if she could become a Pokemon Trainer like they did when they were young. Naturally they agreed. In less than a year, she was winning Pokemon contests left and right. By the time she was eighteen, she qualified for Septoh's Grand Contest Festival. Unfortunately, she would loose that year. The next year she wouldn't even qualify. But the following year she did qualify. Not only that, she took first runner up!

After nearly winning the festival, she decided it was time to return home. She was ready for a new challenge. So with her mother's blessing, she became the new Head Coordinator at the "Earth Arena". Three years later, she will happily tell anyone, being a Head Coordinator is her true calling.

Name: Sydney Hasset

Personality: Sydney is a quiet introvert until you get him talking about Bug-type Pokemon, then it becomes hard for him to stop talking.

Biography: Sydney moved to the region from the Hoen region to study all the different Bug-type that can be found in Septoh. He works out of Professor Lukoo's lab in Wanzo town, but he will travel far and wide to research a new Bug-type Pokemon. He hopes to one day become a full fledged Entomologist.

Name: Joan Autry

Appearance:


Personality: Joan is a proud individual but for good reason. Her IQ is much higher than the average person her age, and she stays physically fit as well. Because of this, she can come off as overly confident.

Biography: Joan grew up in Rustboro City found in the Hoenn region. There she attended the Pokemon Trainers' School. She graduated as the valedictorian of her class and wasted no time moving to the Septoh region. Her goal is to become the best Pokemon Professor the world has ever known. With shining recommendations, Professor Lukoo let her join his staff as an assistant to one of his assistants. She hopes to climb the ranks quickly.

Name: Zvi Shamba

Appearance:


Personality: Zvi is a rambunctious youth, even more than other children his age. He is genuinely happy, nearly all the time; the only thing that upsets him is a suffering Pokemon. Honest to a fault, he hasn't learned how to lie or deceive. He always says what's on his mind.

Biography: Zvi's origin's are unclear. He already appeared to be about six years old when the first villager from Shamba Town found him. Apparently, he had lived his whole life in the wilderness of Mt. Leeman, raised by the Pokemon that lived there. The kind villager tried to bring him back to Shamba Town, but the boy didn't understand and refused. Over the years, the people of Shamba would all come to know and love the boy as one of their own. He now visits the town often, but he never stays the night

Personality: Pablo is a mild mannered professional. He is easy to get along with and laid back. It's almost impossible to make him upset. Basically, he's a mature individual.

Biography: Pablo grew up on a small farm, not to far from Shamba town. He always did as his parents asked... but in his own way. Constantly questioning, he kept looking for ways to improve upon their old farming practices. Eventually, he would leave his family behind in search of higher education. He's traveled the world and learned plenty, earning the title of Agronomist in the process. He has now returned home to share his knowledge.

Appearance:


Personality: Nogu is a wise old man, with a soft smile. Looking into his eyes, it is easy to tell that he has seen a lot in his life. He is a man of few words, and even in his old age, there is something about his aura that says he should not be messed with.

Biography: Nogu has become something of legend to the nearby villagers. It was nearly thirty years ago when people started seeing him in the forests of Mt. Leeman. Some say he used to be a grand master ninja. Others claim he is a Wizard. It has become something of a quest to find the old man, and speaking with him is said to bring you good fortune. Even rarer a sight than Nogu himself, would be his small hut. Those who say they have seen it claim that it is built of stone, but when they return to where they saw it last, it is never there, nor is any sign it ever was.

Appearance:


Personality: Ronaldo is a no-nonsense kind of guy, but he has a kind heart. He talks fast, moves fast, and well, you get the point. A sense of urgency is important in his line of work, and he plans on being the best delivery man there ever was.

Biography: Ronaldo came from a large middle to lower class family. As the middle child, he never really stood out, unless he was running. He was easily the fastest out of all his siblings, and all the kids in his neighborhood for that matter. Now a full grown man, Ronaldo has embarrassed his speed and likes to work alongside Pokemon that also have speed to spare. For now, he delivers the daily mail, but one day, he hopes to be entrusted with urgent messages.

So I read your latest posts and moved the timeline forward another 15 minutes. This means, they are on track to arrive in Wanzo around 1:45 (unless they speed up or slow down of course).
