Bio

I am a Roleplayer with an interest in science fiction and fantasy, with a preference for Casual. I have been roleplaying for several years, and have even taken a stab at running a few RPs.

Outside the Guild, I am an Australian science student, gamer, musician and roleplayer (that's right, IRL too).

I have a few small render issues I've found. I am on Google Chrome. First, just to experiment, I shrunk my browser down to a rather small size. Up the top, I got overlap from the page number indicators over the tabs. I also agree that hiding avatars would be useful for such small-sized displays, and the user info reduced to a single line (at least optionally) Second, I managed to find the full-screen button while editing a post. When exiting fullscreen, however, I discovered that the body of that post had realigned to the center, shoving the avatar section aside. I reproduced it just to make sure it was not the resizing- it wasn't, just the fullscreen.
I'm not sure how to write for this 'Compendium', or what should go into it. I'm also not sure what a white-space is... you mean those lines they used to have to help separate stuff? You can always use [h1][/h1] and [hider=Whatever][/hider] as those help clean up stuff quiet a bit.
"White spaces" are characters which are invisible- such as space, tab (for indents), or enter/line-break, so yes, for separating stuff. Namely, I'm referring to line breaks, so I should have been more specific. Each dot point can only be one paragraph, and there is no spacing allowed between dot points. Even if I add extra BBCode to add space between dot points or hide stuff, an entry within a dot-point can still be a massive block of text. And besides, the Compendium is meant to be a quick reference and brief summary. Brevity is needed for that purpose too. @Lugubrious, Also to do is deal with the angry mob approaching your Dungeon. If you can see out of your quarry, they'd be approaching as a line of torches.
As night came and the streets were quiet, the villagers did indeed hear faint, disturbing noises from the rift in their town. This unsettled them, but anyone who thought anything of it would have thought it anything more than wild animals. As such, the response of the concerned was to simply ensure their doors were locked and windows shuttered. Ideas of demons or appeasement sacrifices did not cross their minds, for the Reginaldus dynasty had driven out all so-called demons and devils and other such beasts. The Cypriots have over time learned not to put any faith in such lower beings, instead trusting in the Kingdom and the King for protection and provision of their needs. Additionally, most Cypriots held that the any dangerous beast, more dangerous than a wolf, only existed at the fringes of their kingdom, so they believed that they were quite safe. For now, at least.
All the colour o.o It's fine. You know you don't need to spend extra time creating blueprints for everything, right? You can if you like, but you don't have to. I'll compress your character sheet into a paragraph and put it in the Compendium. An announcement: I've started university this week, and my weeks are now quite full. I will endeavor to check here regularly, and should be able to maintain near-daily activity in the OOC, but do forgive me if I can't respond for a few days (especially if you need a response IC- those take a fair chunk of time). Another reminder: When writing anything for the Compendium, do try to keep it under one paragraph. Lists presently do not support white-spaces, so brevity is essential. Editing takes time (which, as I have mentioned, I am generally short on) and may be error prone. When writing elsewhere, full detail is fine.
Hello there [@Technonick], thank you for coming here. I get what you're saying. I am perfectly fine with your plan of creating a Construct (by the normal means, of course) which later becomes a Rogue Construct. I think it is quite a good idea, in terms of story and character. Deep inside the jungle, there are no fixed settlements, due to the dangerous wildlife. You will find logging villages along the fringes of the jungles, owned by the Cypriots, which could make a good place to start, for it has access to both the jungle and a village. The river is a prime place to find such settlements too, because of the transportation offered by the river. The logging villages are tougher than your average village, but you can use one.

<Snipped quote by BBeast> Well, does it?
Captain Jordan
It did. Is that intentional? It doesn't feel like it should happen.

I'm new here and haven't had all the time in the world to read the features that are planned and such. But I feel like a reputation system would be nice and would help with moderation. And perhaps forum ranks would be cool to have as well. However I really do enjoy the site as is. But since it's up for discussion I figured I might offer a few of my ideas.
There has been some discussion on this. Opinions are, as far as I remember, divided. You can read from the linked post for further details. http://www.roleplayerguild.com/posts/2430237
<Snipped quote by duck55223> I've been thinking about this for a while. I'm going to implement a trust system so that I can give trusted members more privileges while restricting the privileges of potential spammers (i.e. new users). My core philosophy is that trusted users (i.e. users that have no record of system abuse, users trusted by the system) should be given a full toolkit to use as they see fit. If a trusted user wants to start convos with 10+ people and all 10+ people are down with that (i.e. it's not abuse), then the system should let them do that. - New members are considered untrusted. They can only create a convo every 60 seconds (or some duration). They can only create a convo with 1 other participant. This is to put the final nail in the coffin of a special class of PM spammers. - As a member participates in the community, they become more trusted and unlock more privileges. - Gaining trust needs to be slow enough to punish people that get banned (they have to start from scratch), but it shouldn't feature-starve new users from basic functions. - Trusted users should be able to expedite the trust process by "vouching" for users. Vouching for someone will boost their trust a fraction of your trust and put you on their vouch list that mods can see. If done right, this system will be simple and nearly invisible. Current users will notice nothing different but enhanced privileges, mods will have a better toolkit for evaluating bad actors, the system will be harder to abuse, and new users will unlock more features as they get acclimated to the community. As the guild rapidly climbs back to its pre-guildfall activity levels, I'd like to get this sort of system in place sooner than later. (I spent a lot of time hacking similar countermeasures into oldguild's vBulletin)

---------------- Hey, when I make quotes without the @QuoteMention, does it still send a notification? The green post creation confirmation bar seems to suggest it does.

<Snipped quote by Mahz> Does this include any way for administrators or moderators to change the GM of a roleplay, in case the GM has for example disappeared or abandoned the roleplay?
At the moment 'Co-GMs' have no powers, just a fancy label, although they will in future. I presume that when that happens mods/admins may have the power to change co-GMs in such situations.
Regarding your avatars, which you may have noticed were missing, you simply need to re-upload them: http://www.roleplayerguild.com/posts/2421731 If you're lucky, Mahz may not have deleted the old ones yet, meaning you can transfer by a simple click of a button. Although, then again, you might not have had avatars to begin with and I'm just being inattentive.
