Current Euh. It's been a hot minute. Things are rather different for me now, and I don't know how that translates to my presence here.

I don't *think* I'm a bad person. I might be wrong there. I try not to be, even when I screw it up for want of social awareness.

Infamous Quotes From People Who Exist

“I really don’t follow how your faith believes its perfectly acceptable to doom 4,000 years plus of sentient beings, on a pre-set path of no escape from sin, just so their descendants can be offered the ‘chance of salvation’ when the god murders its own son.”
~vikaTae

“Don’t be an ass or a pussy, ’lest you get screwed by life. Being a mouth or a hand is somewhat safer, and an eye socket is pretty much sacred in this regard, so always keep a look out.”

Dirk Messir - It's A Krabbey Krustey Krabbe World

On oh. The ship's about to be attacked by crabs. Whatever shall I do?

Told you. So long, piece of SHIT.

'No,' Dirk murmured, and because he saw an arrow that said so, letting go of the wheel. The tall child in the dark clothing strolls over to where Cedric and the others were, and then said whilst pointing 'I don't mean to sound. Not happy? Bad world feelings? Sin cycle. Cynical. But this crazy guy is trying to kill us.'

Unmanned, the ship's wheel rolled with the rudder, and the rest of the ship with it, tilted it at a full forty degree angle due starboard as it turned randomly that way. He leaned on one foot with his body remaining straight up whilst it is turning. 'This is fine,' he said, because it was.

It's not Moron! Go back to where the wheel is you Fool! You're going to kill everybody by the ship rolling over Idiot!

'It's called capsizing. Jamewithaniintheexactmiddle. Learn your ship control terms.' Jamewithaniintheexactmiddle really wasn't that smart, and his insultingly uncreative too.
Raymond Haywood: Icehouse Hideout

It took a couple of days for the Broker to get back to Raymond with his new weapon. In that time, Raymond had been left to think to himself, and he'd realised that perhaps simply gathering guns wasn't the best plan of action. Not least because that would make five separate weapons for him to carry around on missions; but furthermore, and thinking back to his hit against the so-called Universe Warrior that rocketed him to notoriety, because even his strongest gun would do squat against another Endbringer. That would be something he'd have to resolve: now that he was stationed at least semi-permanently in one place, the chance that he'd encounter such a being increased fairly substantially.

However, he ultimately decided, it might be best to figure out one problem at a time. His current weapon setup had been more than sufficient for most hits, and the chances of an Endbringer attacking this specific city were very low, especially with years passing between any two sequential attacks. That said, as soon as his weapon had been handed over, he'd asked the Broker if he could link him to a Tinker with the right skills to, say... merge his weapons into one?

A few days after that, and Headhunter was given the opportunity to chat with a man going by the epitaph "Matrix", whose specialty supposedly lay in creating drones - specifically, autonomous drones with rudimentary intelligence, working either alone or in some sort of network that let them achieve more than just the one machine could. That was certainly an idea to look into later on; however, it was not why he was there. After some discussion, they had agreed upon a weapon that essentially shapeshifted to match whatever form was provided, specifically the five guns that served as a base for it. Matrix had assured Headhunter that he could do what he'd been asked to do, for the right payment of course, and a reminder that the weapon would need tuning up every couple of weeks; with that arranged, it was only a few days more before Raymond finally received his new weapon.

It was, to say the least, perfect for his present needs. He reminded himself when he received it that it was only a stepping stone to a superior weapon - there were a few types of parahuman who could resist even grievous bodily harm from mundane solid projectiles - but it would suffice for the time being.

That ultimately led up to today. Their mission, essentially, was to steal a crate from a minimum-security function, and immediately, the two newer members were discussing the matter of how to handle it. Thunderbolt had suggested setting up another ambush; Heartless had proposed that he sneak in and tase the guards unconscious beforehand. Both plans had their benefits, but whilst of the two, Heartless' made more sense, it was also unlikely to remain effective for long, which was why Chatterbox's suggestion of implementing several backup plans was so intelligent. Whatever they were. And... well, Sofia hadn't contributed, so that was that.

'I can't imagine ambushing the cargo as it reaches the storehouse will be very helpful, Jason,' Raymond posited quietly, 'since we'll have a period of low security to take advantage of after that anyway. Perhaps if we wait from then until the time of the rally, but even so. Nor will tasing the guards keep them down for long, Ryan, unless you also tie them up and gag them afterwards. It's surprisingly difficult to knock people out for more than a brief period of time, I've learned, not without causing permanent brain damage or worse.' He thought for a moment, then nodded to himself.

'That said, if you happen to have some rope and gags available, that'd be very helpful in handling the latter point. Or we can go out and buy some... James, don't you have minions who can buy things for you?' he asked, turning to the youthfully-attractive mind controller as he did. He still believed that was a false name, because why wouldn't it be, but it was the name he had provided, so why not call him by it? Just in case he slipped up...
Alessa Heather: PRT Headquarters

In the days following her conversation with Lily, Alessa had learned that far from declining, the rate of criminal activity had all but skyrocketed despite her patrols, a fact that rather upset her. She could likely have resolved them if she'd been there at any point, and yet she'd somehow missed it all! Not least of the surge came from what appeared to be a new group of vigilantes, perhaps even the same group who had injured two of the Protectorate's heroes - to her mind, violent thugs working to destabilise anything resembling a firmament of society by almost explicitly breaking the Unspoken Rules.

This whole train of thought was broken by the sound of a bell ringing, signalling the end of the school day. Finally! She'd been itching to get back on patrol as soon as she could... but she and the other Wards needed to report back to the PRT first, ostensibly to receive a gift from Decoy, and that meant returning to HQ. It was practically time wasted in her mind, but it couldn't be helped; in that regard, Ira was lucky, not needing to walk a substantial distance to get to what was essentially a workplace. Not to mention getting one of the smartest people around practically to herself for hours... though Alessa did wonder if she got lonely in that time, not having anyone else her age around.

Alas, there wasn't much to be done about the situation. Minutes were spent on the walk, and eventually, Alessa made her way into the holographic room that was Ira's classroom. Already present were Ira herself, Decoy, and Lillian; she jovially greeted each individually, then leant gently against one of the walls of the room with her arms folded.

'So Decoy, is your gift for us that we finally have another big mission to handle?' the girl asked in a teasing manner. She was only half-joking - a new mission involving every Ward really would be swell, at least to her. Maybe she could make up for their last mission and Collin's subsequent forced retirement... the ending of Love Craft's interrogation too, to some extent.
Did you guys want things to get weird? Because they just got weird. They're always weird in Dirk's mind. Maybe too weird, honestly; I might tone that down depending on people's reactions to it.
Dirk Messir - I'm On a Boat

Yes. Land. That took long enough. And according to his Divine Purpose, that was where they needed to stop. Also, Captain Cedric said something about supplies earlier. That too.

You're going to get murdered here, you little bastard.

Nope, Divine Purpose says I was going to live. There was the big glowing cross over it and everything. What was it called. Clocks Tone. Yes.

'Maybe there will be nobles,' Dirk murmured, tilting his head as he held the ship's wheel. Captain Cedric was already leaving to talk to Caesar. That was okay, because Dirk needed to silently move the ship to the right place anyway. There were calculations to be made. That was them, just now. Didn't you see them?

Did you not see them, brat? Disgusting baby of a-

'It's time to stop Derek.'

Remember that you need me. But you'd be better off dead anyway.

Not likely. Divine Purpose still said no to dying because it wasn't complete, so it's illegal. Dirk is not a crime-inal. A criminal. He steered the ship toward the right spot, which was the island that was going to have the port with the other ships. He knew it was a Port, because the last sign said that was its name, and they were all Port of the same Poort family. Maybe it sold its blood for a living. People drank Port, didn't they? Drink port. Yes, that is.

Good Job, Dirk! You're Doing Great!

Thanks, Big Guy. You've always had Dirk's back.
For half a moment, Darran felt as if he might actually be under attack by the... abhuman? He'd wholly admit he'd never seen an abhuman quite like this woman, who might even be a mutant... who had barely avoided knocking them both off their feet. To both their credits, they kept their feet, in the surgeon's case stepping to one side of the door in order to avoid another incident like that, but as the... "the woman", he decided upon for now, drew her coat closer to her body and began reloading her very large weapon, much larger than his own, he couldn't help but tilt his head.

'You're not seriously planning on fighting the Arbites, are you?' he asked, perplexed but nothing close to concerned, and certainly not so much as his voice might imply. They were essentially the be-all end-all amongst the lower echelons of the Hive, after all, short of a very well-armed Spirer coming down to hunt some gangs; trying to kill them was surely suicidal. But, if she was that dead-set upon trying, he wasn't exactly going to try and stop her...
New post made, bitches. Do your stuff, folks.
In hindsight, trusting a known worshipper of Chaos to say anything useful was hardly a good idea. Even so, Darran had it in mind to go back up to the Spire and take apart the Countess del Arheidt quite literally for putting him in this situation, intentionally or not. That was, if he so much as survived this abrupt attack, let alone escaped the clutches of the Imperial aggressors who had chosen practically the hour he'd entered this bar to run a hit on it.

Good thing, then, that Darran was prepared in a way he might not have been if he was a surgeon alone. His job did rather expect him, after all, to maintain intense precision that could be immensely enhanced by internal modifications, but overclocked thought processes further helped him to consider a given situation as it arrived, if for some reason he was forced to handle a sudden emergency; likewise, if his ability to react to said situations was reduced, it could mean the difference between life and death for a patient; and customisable overlays within the cameras of some of his mechadendrites were simply icing on top of the cake, intended as reminders to render even more precisely his already-significant knowledge of anatomy. In this case, they were easily modified with a series of quick thoughts to render the expected path of any given projectile- the arc of projectiles, more likely- fired from the gun of the Adeptus Arbite who now declared everybody within a filthy criminal, along with any others who might enter.

...ironic, wasn't it, that his high treason might be discovered as a result of being mistaken for a petty crook? Darran might have laughed, if he had any ability to derive humour from situations.

Instead, he almost immediately flipped up the table he was at, but remained behind it for no more than a half-second before bolting toward the next table, flipping that one up without so much as pausing to stop behind it as he continued to charge toward the back room. They were made of wood, and not particularly well-made at that. They wouldn't stop a knife from going all the way through, let alone shotgun pellets. Sure enough, the first mass of shot missed him by centimeters according to the overlay, whilst the second was made as the Arbite fell for Darran's ploy, shredding the table yet failing to come close to Darran himself. By the time the third could be lined up against him, he was already through the doorway, and into a moment of relative safety for the time being amongst the various crates of alcohol and whatnot. Naturally, it would be temporary at best, but if he could find somebody to ally with before then... not that he trusted anybody down here to remain allies beyond this immediate convenience, but an ally of convenience was an ally nonetheless, so long as he deserted them before they could turn on him.
Marxello Catchanale

Well, he knew what he was doing, at least... he'd clearly figured out how to traverse the swamp long ago, as well as roughly what ingredients they needed. Glowing grass and sparkling berries. They sounded very much like the sort of plants you'd find in a corrupted landscape, but what did he know about that?

Clearly, the mood was intended to be jovial. Ian quickly became far less so once the Varjan wardogs showed up, and God almighty, those were certainly horrendous-looking beasts. They certainly didn't have anything like that back in Andrale... could they be influenced by demonic- the thought was immediately quenched. Demonic energy was more likely to turn them into sexualised humanoids than those monstrosities. But what else could it be...?

Ideally, irrelevant. Especially now, when Ian had both pointed out their target, and asked whether the wardogs needed to be dealt with or could just be left alone. Mark pondered the question for a moment. He certainly had ways of dealing with the beasts easily if they were noticed, but why expend the energy if it wasn't needed? And on the other hand, if he could just restrain one long enough to ensure it was purified, he could perhaps determine why they were like that, yet would that be worth the effort if it gained him no information?

'I believe we would be wise to let them pass by,' he finally decided, 'so long as they do not notice us or attempt to consume our quarry.' For all Mark knew, they did in fact feed solely on glowing grass and sparkling berries... and that reminded him unpleasantly about the quest's supposed goal. 'What potion are these ingredients needed for, anyway?' he asked, a hint of suspicion to his voice as he glanced over to Ian. If they kept their voices down, as they had been doing so far, they'd likely stay out of the notice of the warhounds until they had passed by.
Oh, and since I hinted repeatedly that Motley was doing something untoward to Runch in my version of events, here's what that was going to be.
