First, a poem, about my ego -

I'm not just smart guys,
I'm a MENSA,
So healthy I'm made of Polenta,
Not expensive, and, I taste great,
I'll help you lose weight, lames can't hate.
I'm like a boat, the boat's ship-shape,
Wish we could date, i'm so tip-top.
I'm magic and amazing, and I won the Civil War,
Singlehandedly, for the North, so hip hop.
You gotta get me, and, get me,
Then geddit and geddit again,
Get a dozen of me and you'll be buzzin' like a bee hive.
I'm like an ancient demi-god,
You wanna leave me little offerings,
all the mortal imitators gotta go,
I'm hotter than a habanero pepper in a lava flow.
Without me you're lame and afraid,
But now you get laid,
Now you get paid.
I'm better than competitors,
I'm spreading like an epidemic,
and you better get me or you're gonna get AIDS.

Oh this would do just fine! Serigan's grin stretched for ear to ear as he sat in the lounge with his boots kicked up on the table. He'd had a bowl of the fine stew they offered here, better than the slop his old cuz used to throw together, and sipped on his glass of whiskey. It was a good vintage too. His boys had made a whiskey back at home they called 'Cuttah brew' and it was as foul as the air. They brewed it up from the leavings in the trash heaps and alley ways of old Ullarn. Serigan downed the drink with an appreciative sigh. Oh yes, sirrah, this'a'do jus' fine. His blue eyes followed the old man who he'd seeing wandering around the halls lately. The old bastard had been here longer than Ser, but, that didn't matter. What really mattered is that old tough looked like he'd seen a few daggers with blades stuck in someone else's back. Ser knew the look. He might not be a 'Jumpah' anymore, but, he could be again. He saw the codger's fingers twitch and itch. That's a stabber shuffle if he'd ever seen one, and he had. Him and the perky red head that had a kind of 'Y'lookin' me up? I'll bash'er 'ead in!' sort of feel to her. Yep, those two would be the first. Serigan stood after a few more minutes of contemplation and swept his swagger stick up into his hand. "Time'a be on 'is way, eh?" he said to the open air and strode from the room. His buckler and dussack clinked together with a soft ringing sound, the rhythm to the beat of his heavy cane on the floor. The old gangster crossed the guild entrance and eyed the contract board. "Wasted on weed pickin', loves." he reached one of his griddle-like hands out and snatched a seperate contract from the board. The one they would do, well, once he offered it to them. The massive man walked through the entry hall and raised his cane in a mock-salute to the guild administrator. "Off'a pick weeds, I am. Be back t'discuss ou'futya chillun, eh?" he gave her a playful wink and exited the Guild before he could stopped or rebuffed.

Serigan walked down the center of the cobbled road. The sun was shining and everything was right damn pleasant. It made him ill. He couldn't even remember seeing the sun back when he was young. The sky was black and gray and everyone in Ullarn knew it. This, this was just obscene. Too bright, too hot, too fresh. He could breath the air in and not even worry about getting a cough. He wondered how these people ever stopped thieves. No tracks in the soot and no untimely coughs as preamble to untimely demise. The farm was not too far off, that was good. The less time he was out in this oppressive light was always a good thing. As the sight of the farm came into view Serigan caught sight of his two marks as well. Yep, there they were, wasting time and effort pulling weeds like children. Well, here was their opportunity.

Serigan walked over to the two with his usual gang-leader swagger. He raised his cane in salute to them before he walked over to the edge of the field. There were so many plants. People back in the soot would have, and did, kill for food like this. Now, here it was, all layed out in rows. Serigan scanned the horizon almost shocked he didn't see any bandits waiting to strike and snag all the lush greens. "Hot'ere, eh?" he said with a grin on his face. "He gestured down to the weeds the two were pulling out, "N'er seen nuttin' like this'n where I come from." Serigan walked over, making sure not to step on the precious food, and whacked one of the weeds out of the ground with the weighted end of his cane. The plant flew in a graceful arch over the few rows of plants to his left. Serigan let out a quiet whistle in admiration of his shot. "Lis'en'ere." the tall man said in a quiet and cheery tone, "I gos' me an evil brain an'a angel heart. Ol'Cuttah comes t'ye with a way t'make some real stacks." he turned his eyes back to the other two. "Pullin' weeds s'fine, fer'chillun, Ol'Cuttah knows things though." Serigan tapped his forehead with the head of his cane and his mouth pulled into a preditory grin, "See, ol'Cuttah here has the touch, see. He can see the future. ol'Cuttah sees three champions. He sees 'imself, a'course." he gestured with the tip of cane at Mable, using the thing like a teacher's ruler, "A beau'ful an'dangerous Kilie," the point of his cane trailed over to the old man, "An' a ol'knife tha's still sharp's'a razor." his impromu ruler swung down and pointed to an imaginary pile at Serigan's feet, "Wit a pile of dead pigs at their feet." Serigan planted his cane in the hole where the weed he had smashed used to sit. "Thas'a stack a'clips as tall as ol'Cuttah 'ere. T'ousand for each of'em champions." Serigan pulled the contract for the death of the boars that had been troubling caravans. A three star contract. "Three stars. Three champions. Three t'ousand clips we split. N'more weed pullin' fer our ilk, eh?" Serigan spread his arms and waited for the response. He thought he'd been compelling. He just hoped they could understand his eastern accent.

The two Jedi burst into a room full of young students with low powered lightsabers deflecting bolts from small drones. The two instructors turned giving the two a confused look. "We saw that you would be arriving, Knight H'daru, you did not say why though." H'daru then began. He explained their tracking of the strange vibrations in the Force. The instructors listened intently. They kept their faces calm and serious. They knew the reputation of the Sentinel and that his senses were particularly keen. Once the explanation was done the two instructors acted quickly. They all knew that little time remained before whatever darkness that haunted the academy would be upon them. The three Jedi and padawan moved quickly prompting the defense forces in the area into a defensive position. They all knew this battle would not go well. They could sense the power of the Dark Side and it was cloying. The attackers would not be deterred so easily. H'daru turned to his padawan after they had inspected the air-defense towers. They were in good repair and manned by competent men, yet, they would likely be of little value. Their best hope was to hold the attackers at bay until support from the capitol could arrive, assuming it even did. The Republic was still hesitant to trust the 'hunches' of Jedi. It was unfortunate. They had seen so much evidence to justify the advice of Jedi yet all too often those deaf to the Force would mistrust those with understanding beyond their own. "Kyra," he began, "I need you to go gather the children. You must protect them at all costs. Take them to the lower dormitory and lock every door you pass on the way there." Kyra nodded. "Be wary master, I sense a terrible disaster may befall us." H'daru turned from her without directly addressing her question. She had not needed to speak those words. he knew all too well what his Padawan sensed. "Go. Make haste." he commanded before he strode off to guard the halls.

H'daru stalked the twisting halls of the academy. He passed doors and locked them with his own Counsel ID code. Each door snapped shut with a hiss as the mag locks engaged. He walked with his eyes half closed, breathing deeply, surrendered to the Force. He could feel the silencing of life just as easily as he felt the shaking of the very stone from the areal bombardment. They had pulled that ship into a very low flight pattern and used it's ship-to-ship weapons to blast an easy hole in the temple's frontal defenses. As the Knight had anticipated, the anti-air guns were of little effect. They had not been designed to face a threat this substantial. Now all hope rested on the Jedi here and the capital ships that might be on the way. H'daru locked another door behind him and felt through the Force. Around the corner, five, armed lightly, troopers. His towering form suddenly appeared before the troopers in a blur of brown cloth and the steady glow of his green saber. He crouched low and swung in a wide arch. The blow passed through the two troopers on the end of the formation with a sizzle. As his arch terminated he opened his hand sending the saber into a humming whirl, guided by the Force, tearing through the remaining three soldiers with gruesome effect. He gave the dead men not a second glance as he pulled the saber back to his hand and switched off the beam. His attention was elsewhere. He could sense the approach of something far darker than the five now dead at his feet. He began walking forward, shrugging off his Jedi robe. His left hand flexed and one of the trooper's blasters sprang forward into it. As the grip made contact with his hand, the form rounded the corner. One of the Sith. The man wore a mask and stank of fury barely held in check. Without a word H'daru threw himself into a run sending a quick burst of bolts at the figure. As the fourth bolt left the weapon H'daru opened his hand and sent the weapon itself hurtling toward the Sith's face. His saber sprang to life with a crackling whoosh as the Jedi launched himself forward with a Force enhanced leap ending in a crouch and swiping at the Sith's legs. He had surrender to the Force. It would guide him to whatever fate was meant for him.

The building shook with the impact. many of the children began to huddle together, plenty were sobbing. Kyra remembered being young like them. They were not too old to be scolded for their behavior, and, likely, would not respond well to person still with a braid telling them what to do. Maybe she was wrong though. These children had spent a good deal of time in the structure of the Temple. Kyra turned to the mass of children and knelt down. "You must all be strong. This is a situation can shape your will." Many of the younglings looked up from their quiet fear to the stalwart young woman. Some had stopped crying, "You must see the fear in yourself and understand it. Once you understand it you can let it go. You fear pain and death. I know, I have felt that too, but, you must know that the Force guides all events. We are Jedi, we are the guardians of balance. We must not fear what will come, we must face it with resolve." she sounded like the teachers she had once had. Many young faces looked as though they did not understand, yet, some other looked as though they had began to understand her. She flicked her green eyes between those resolute children and marked their faces in her mind. Those would be the ones who would lead. Another terrible tremor shook the building. It was not another one of the shots from the corvette though. No, not only did she feel the shaking of the temple but she could feel the hatred and fear in it. Someone out there was a terrible Force user. They had surrendered to the Dark in a way that gave him furious power. This would not end well. Kyra stood. She looked from the children to the door of the room. No. Hiding would not do. They would be sensed. This many Force sensitive children would be a beacon in the Force. She might be able to hide herself but not all of them. The padawan reached up and tossed her hood up. "We need to move. The Temple will fall, but, we shall escape." she reached out and entered the code into the panel by the door turning the screen from a dark red to the bright green meaning 'unlocked'. The door hissed open. The hall was empty, good, best not to fight so early in their flight.

The mass of students led by Kyra moved through the halls as quietly as they could. It seemed like all the locked doors were slowing down the progress of the invaders. Good. Let them feel the anger and frustration, let it cloud their minds. Kyra locked every door on her way down to the lower levels, and, now she was locking each door they passed through leaving no trace of their passing. Kyra stopped at the corner of a hall junction. Her eyes were closed. She needed no sight, she had the Force, three soldiers. They were hunting, she could feel their desire to find. Kyra waited until she knew they had turned away from the corner where she waited. The padawan rounded the corner and took three silent steps before throwing herself forward. Her Force powered rush ended in a slide as her lightsaber ignited. The yellow blade was a dazzling flurry as she came up in a crouch among the soldiers. A small gasp escaped one's mouth as the blade brought all of them down. Kyra slowly stood, extending her senses outward. kyra's eyes opened in shock as she felt the shadow cast over her mind. The padawan turned as the literal shadow someone extended through one of the doors that had been opened. This was no soldier. Kyra pulled her saber up into a Makashi guard and waited. This would be a true test.
The familiar hiss of the rear hatch opening sounded all around the two Jedi. The pressurized air of the cargo chamber rushed from the opening hatch, rustling the brown robes of the young woman and her Master. Natural light poured into the dim chamber as the two stepped from the small ship. The day was mild and sweet with the scents of the surrounding jungle. Everything seemed so,peaceful. Kyra walked across the small landing pad with her Master, Knight H'daru, to her left and slightly ahead of her. He was a good deal taller than she was and often out-strode her. She had learned quickly that walking slow was almost always out of the question though. She had longer legs than most her size, but, that mattered little compared to her towering master. He seemed to float forward with the calculated grace that can only exist in one utterly connected to the Force. Kyra, quickly pattered after him.

A small number of rather surprised care takers approached. One of them, an old man, held a data-pad and kept darting his eyes down to it and then back to the two Jedi. "Excuse me, Knight H'daru?" it was less a question of who he was, but, more of why are you here. "We have tracked a dark presence. It comes shortly." Kyra's master always spoke like that. Quick, short, phrases. He did not waste time droning on or engaging in small talk. The padawan could not be more different. While she did not waste time she often wanted to just talk. Not everything had to be an order or about the mission. Sometimes, knowing what a culture chose to fill silence with would give you a better understanding of them. "this is a place of learning and training, Knight H'daru. Why would something happen here?" the old man seemed confused. "The cannock does not maul the rancor, but, it may prey on it's pups." finally the old man just silenced his questions and began to fall in behind the two Jedi. "I hope the Jedi here are more willing to listen." Kyra said quietly to her master. H'daru inclined his head in agreement as they stepped through the automated door from the landing pad to the halls of the academy. Kyra quickly scanned the halls. It was a marvelous place. She had not been trained here, but, she would have enjoyed it very much. The old Academy on Dantoine where she had studied was still being repaired when she was there. Not only that but the whole place was like a catacomb. Set into the wide fields resulted in a great deal of time underground. Here the air was moist and full of life. Kyra's eyes suddenly widened. She stopped walking. H'daru's steps stopped just as suddenly. The two shared a quick look of worry before Kyra spoke. "Master, are we too late?" H'daru broke into a quick dash toward the main chambers with Kyra at his heel. They needed to find the other knights here and warn them quickly. A shadow had been cast and they sat in it's umbra.

Distantly, the sound of decent thrusters silenced insects and drove away birds on the lush jungle planet. If only they had arrived ninety minutes earlier.
Name: Kyra Ryscandor
Age: 20
Appearance:

Kyra is a vital woman who's entire being seems to beam health and vigor. She has straight light brown hair that she normally keep in a pony tail. Her almound shaped eyes often seem wide and full of wonder even in the most dire situations, and, are a muted green color. She has a rather average figure as far as womanly curves go, even less noticeable under the robes of Jedi, though, years of training and dedication has turned her body into a coiled spring of powerful, lithe muscles. Her height is perfectly average with long legs for her height. She keep her soon-to-be-gone padawan braid tucked in with the pony tail she usually sports.

Race:Human
Role: The Jedi
Bio:
Kyra's past was very much just as you would expect a Jedi's life to be. Discovered to be Force Sensitive at the early age of five years, she was taken away to a Jedi Temple for instruction in the ways of the Force. Her training progressed quickly. Not only was her mind quick and skill with understanding the Force impressive, but, also in order to create as many useful Jedi as possible to begin rebuilding the Order. Kyra showed early promise in the detection and sensing of both Force users and the presence of The Dark Side. It was decided that she would become a Jedi Sentinel. With her path set ahead of her, Kyra's, training could become more focused. She studied the same subjects as all children in the Temple, but, she was placed with the other children that displayed the same gifts and honed their powers of 'Sense'. The next step was aimed at countering the tactics of The Dark Side. As Sentinels stand against The Dark Side and seek it out they all must be prepared to understand and resist it. Years passed, kyra grew into an adolescent and soon enough was placed under the care of a Jedi Knight. Her training began in truth.

No classes in the Temple could have prepared Kyra for the vastness and complexity of the Galaxy. Her Master took her all over the Galaxy. She traveled to planets covered in ice; planets of nothing but ocean; Planets that were great cities like Corosaunt. Her travels delighted her and filled her with a desire to see and do more. Everywhere they went the two of them found echos of the Dark Side and worked to rid the Galaxy of it. They hunted down terrible sorcerers and crime bosses alike. Kyra learned all she could from these missions, soaking in the cultures and languages. She soon found she had a knack for picking up up alien tongues and often served her Master as a translator. He had no need of one though, of course, he had access to a multi-lingual translator. He allowed her this indulgence because he saw the light in her eyes as she learned and applied the knowledge. Kyra progressed quickly and became a force in her own right.

They embarked on one last mission together. Kyra was told this would be her greatest challenge. Neither of them knew just how correct her Master had been. He would soon recommend her to be granted the full title of knight once this foe was defeated. The Force teaches it's lessons in it's own ways though.

Personality:
Kyra is a Jedi. She knew no other life and wishes no other life for herself. She is optimistic to a fault and enthusiastic in all of her tasks. She holds her Jedi aloofness as much as she can, but, often finds herself showing her interest in matters of culture and language. Kyra is also a 'true believer' in the Jedi. She does not see their former fall or their passive nature as weakness. Nor does she resent the events that have befallen her. She thinks of the Force as her teacher and knows that all darkness comes with a lesson to be passed or failed, and, she intends to pass. She is wary around any who walk to closely to the Dark Side, as her training taught her to be, yet she believes no one is beyond redemption.
Specialization/Skills:
- Jedi Training: Kyra is proficient in all Jedi lightsaber styles, though she favors the quick jabs and faints of Makashi, and can perform the basic actions of 'Alter', 'Control', and 'Sense'.
- Dark Side Sensitivity: All Jedi sentinels are trained in the instinctual sensing of the Dark Side and the powers it holds. Kyra is particularly talented at this power and can sense the touch of the Dark Side on anyone she is near. This is very mild and often says little about most people, but, those who have taken to it's teachings and use it's power stand out to Kyra like a sore thumb.
- Vanishing Blade: Sharing her Master's love for Makashi Kyra's Master began to instruct her in the Vanishing Blade. A variant on Makashi where one uses the unique property of the lightsaber's ability to no longer have a blade to catch foes off guard.
Equipment:
Padawan Lightsaber(Yellow), Padawan robes
@Roosan@Big Dread@The Survivorhows those posts coming guys? Need help deciphering the riddle that are the dice mechanics of this game?

Hahaha! Nah, I think I got it now. Just waiting for Survivor to be on too so we can finish our colab.
I'll getcha a jedi cooked up fore the night's end.
If we had all these new people for the last battle, we might not of all gotten our asses handed to us!

Hahahah! What side were you fighting for? Seems like the 'goodies' managed to get out alright.
Hold ALT and type 0233 on the numpad to get é. Hold ALT and type 0191 on the numpad to get ¿.

Done that? Good. Now your letters are no longer English, and thus, you are no longer the king.

NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
<Snipped quote by Big Dread>

Also, just to answer that question, because I didn't get to it last night. I'll usually try to set up NPCs and encounters for you to talk to, as well as supply information on what they'd tell you once the rolls happen. The information is usually presented in a bog block of text like that last update post. A round of questioning goes something like "Roll persuasion - question - receive answer."

In the case of Det. Albright, who doesn't want to answer your questions, an interrogation roll must be made to get her to agree to be interviewed.

When interviewing characters, just PM me who you're interviewing and the interrogation roll, if needed, and/or the persuasion roll. If the rolls are high enough, I'll give you the information like I did in the last post.

After thinking for a bit, it would make more sense for the interrogation skill to be checked with people who will be resistant to questioning, letting you know who these tight-lipped people are is my responsibility. Persuasion is checked when interviewing witnesses. Real badges add +2 to persuasion, fake ones add +1.

Okay, awesome! Thank you for the information. Oh, could one use persuasion to soften someone up and put them at ease before you use interrogation to get info from them? Like a jab followed by a cross? Of course failing the persuasion check would make the interrogation check even harder than normal. Just a thought.
