Cassandra had been quiet up until now, but she had to speak up. This was far too risky for her- the cursewright wasn't exactly a coward, but neither was she suicidal. "Um, don't you think we're moving a bit fast? I've got some hexes that would work to weaken the vampires, but we need to find them first. Line of sight would be best, but I can establish a link with a camera feed as well.

Either way, if I'm not going to put a curse on the whole damn town- and you'd have to whistle up a big demon or a god for something like that- I need to know what I'm blasting. Besides, we can't just blunder around loaded for supernatural bear, can we?"
Cassandra was stoic as the mission was announced. A small group of vampires. Judging from the intel, they can best us one on one, but we've got the numbers if we move quick. Could be a lot worse. As the intel dump was concluded, she stood up and looked over the rest of the team she had been assigned to work with.

"Do we have any idea where these vampires are holed up? I was thinking I could do a big entropy hex on their base, blow everything on one haymaker. But to do that properly, I'd need to know where to drop the hammer." She gave a small chuckle- those bloodsuckers wouldn't have a clue what hit them, and once they were disabled, the team could sweep in and finish the job with minimal risk. Everybody gets to come home, and that was the most important goal of the mission by far.

"Granted, the first step in this whole thing is to actually get there. Anybody willing to volunteer to drive?"
Vampires. Of all the possible things they could through at the newbies, it was going to be freaking vampires. Rebecca shuddered, she'd hoped it would be something more sneaky and underhanded, places where she could put her intelligence-gathering skills to good use. Combat, well... let's just say there was a reason she preferred to avoid direct confrontation.

"O=Okay." It was Rebecca's turn to look at the files, and the further she got, the worse it looked. "Um, Sister Deborah? You're sending after vampires with no experienced backup, and in the bad part of Baltimore? Where the mortals might be more dangerous than the bloodsuckers? I mean, no offense but when I think friendly locals, The Wire doesn't exactly come to mind. Are... are you sure about this?" Truth be told, the redheaded witch was this close to asking for a pistol to save the vamps a little trouble and time, but she wasn't quite that tactless.
Cassandra nods as Rowan leaves. She's never actually *taught* black magic to anyone before, but it will certainly be a good test of her skills. After all, if you can't teach something to others, do you really understand it yourself in the first place? The little blonde laughed at herself- she was almost becoming a philosopher!

Cassandra decided to do a few quick minutes of meditation, feeling the ebb and flow of energies in the room. Taking some of the dark powers within her, she open eyes to find herself levitating a half-inch off the floor. Not exactly what Dakota could do, but enough to make her hit the ground with a bit of surprise. Recovering quickly, the cursewright went off to get herself a late breakfast. Hopefully, there would still be a few other newbies there.
"A party?" Rebecca seemed to leap out of her chair at the thought. Sure, the initiation ceremony had essentially been one big party so as it was, but this was a chance for her to really set her style and get everyone going. Nothing warmed the heart like a big get together, after all. "I'd love to get something together, Kate! Give me until this evening, and we'll have the biggest soiree the coven's ever seen! I'll even see if we can get some of my... friends to cross over for the night. Do you think we should have a theme?"

The medium babbled on excitedly, clearly in her element. It was going to take some real doing to bring her back down to earth- the question was, would anybody try? If they did, she'd probably listen, but if not, the only place she was going would be overboard. That said, it would certainly be interesting, either way.
"Myself, actually. This helps a lot with meditation. If I'm going to use black magic on another person, I wouldn't bother poisoning them with a potion. Not that I'm planning on doing such in the first place, of course." Cassandra added the dandelion, and the potion turned a lot better in color. "For the stuff I do, you need to still your thoughts, and then pick out whatever emotion you want to focus on and let it overwhelm you. That's the secret to a good curse." She added two pixie eggs, then gently shook the mixture. "And there we go. That should help me considerably."

She looked over at Rowan. "So what are you working on, then? Anything interesting? I certainly wouldn't mind learning a little bit more of alchemy. It doesn't hurt to have a broader base, and I'd be glad to show what the Dark Arts can do in exchange."
Still waiting for a verdict on my girl.
Name: Jenny Malone

Age: 17

Sanctum City: Bellanum

Description: Five foot nothing and 100 lb. soaking wet, Jenny doesn't exactly cut a heroic figure. Her red hair falls in a waterfall to her shoulders. Her clothing is usually in loud colors, far past tasteful but just short of obnoxious.

Personality: Jenny can summed up in three words: Over. The. Top. Everything she does, she does big. She is steadfast and loyal, but has a raging temper- her childhood nickname was Strawberry Shortfuse for a reason. She enjoys athletics and can often be found in the gym or out on the track.

Bio: Life ain't easy in Bellanum. Situated in the frozen middle of nowhere, at times it seems like nature is a bigger enemy than any void. Jenny's family wasn't well off, but they did what they could to spoil their only child absolutely rotten. She grew up playing basketball and soccer, and got quite a bit of attention for her skills on the field, even if her grades were less than stellar.

The problem with living in what used to be Canada is that if something goes wrong with your heater during the winter, you need to find a place to go, quick. As they piled on the blankets and headed for her grandmother's, a shivering Jenny just wished she could be warm again, and a little fire appeared in her hand. That was when she knew.

The Magical:

Armagus Name: Blazing Crimson Ruby

Armagus Description: A 3 foot, basket-hilted rapier. When she draws it, it transmutes into flame from tip to hilt.

Parma: Her physical features don't change, only her outfit- but what a change! Gleaming white boots and gloves, a short red skirt, white top, white cape with emblem of a silver heart containing red flames, and a gold tiara with a ruby.

Elementum: Fire

Elementum abilities: Jenny is the queen of heat and flame. Fireballs, walls of flame for area denial, beams of heat- all are within her domain. She can even breathe fire like a dragon for extra style points.
Craving Witch x witch hunter, Back in the Saddle, Joining the Guild and Succubus x human
“A crush? Those two? You don’t say…” Rebecca responded dryly. She didn’t necessarily go looking for gossip among the coven, but if it came up, well, it came up. “Yeah, they’re an item. In love up to their eyeballs. Not that I particularly mind. Everybody needs somebody in this world, it’s too cruel to be alone.”

“As for what the elders want from us, I suppose we’ll be gathering ritual ingredients, doing odd jobs, that sort of thing. They aren’t going to assign us anything heavy, I don’t think. There’s a reason they’re in charge, after all. If you want details about the future, go ask Calypso. She’s the seeress, not me.”
She shrugged, divination was never a bit of magic she was interested in. The future held what it held, and she wasn’t about to try to mess with it.

A newcomer came over. It was a guy, and she had to admit, a cute one. Her heart didn’t skip a beat, necessarily, but he was one to keep an eye on for sure. “I’m Rebecca.” She dropped into a pitch-perfect imitation of the kid from The Sixth Sense. “I see dead people.” It was an ancient joke among mediums, but she’d be damned if it didn’t get a chuckle or two.
