M looking for F for Romantic Plot (Casual)

Yeah, so it's right there. Just looking for a plot that has romance in the plot, but the romance shouldn't be the whole plot. Get the picture? Because I bloody well don't.

In any case, quick bit about me, Male, just turned 24, yada. Looking to RP with someone over 18. Just not big on doing romance plots with anyone younger. Brain quirk and all that.

Anyway, the plot can be from almost any genre, and I will only do OCs.

My rules are no smut and please try and keep content going.

I do like to do OOC chatter, but if I get weird, please let me know, and I'll try and stop.

But yeah, um... That's pretty much it.

Alright, here's the OOC for my RP. I would have had it up sooner, but technology issues hampered it. Well, my computer is running again, so I can finally get things started!

BIG NOTE: When you make your characters, remember a couple things, first off, keep your weapon down to a simple category, such as sword, scythe, thrown, spear, axe, etc. While I will be allowing custom or unique weapons later, for now the sheets should only have the weapon variety. Second, guys, I want this to succeed, so I need a writing sample before I accept ANY CS's. Ethan

Name: Ethan Yurievich, played by BlazeGamma
Age: 19
Appearance: Trimmed black hair and clean shaven. Green eyes. He's pale and has a slim build. About 6'1. Usually dresses in whatever he can throw together, so long as it's clean.
Weapon: Sword
Background: 5th generation Russian immigrant. His family moved over to the United States before the start of the Second World War. Raised by a young mother and father, he didn't have the strongest upbringing, except when his grandparents were around. As such, he has always been a troublemaker and had issues with authority. He got into drugs when he was 13, but did enough of his schoolwork to get by in the middle of his class, when he wasn't getting suspensions for causing trouble. When his parents received his invitation to the school with a free ride, he wasn't given any choice, and his parents shipped him off to Black University.
Personality: Laid back, lazy, and generally full of himself, Ethan constantly halfasses things and doesn't pay attention to the consequences of his actions. While he would seem a slob, he does take care of his appearance and hygiene. Fancies himself a ladies man. Is more of a lech who gets away with it by having drugs people can mooch off him.

Name: De'Saray Opal, played by xAsunaWolfx.
Age: 17
Appearance:
5’5, slender, Muscles under skin well defined.Her black eyelashes are naturally curly and make her eyes pop out (similar to the effect mascara has). She has piercings the run up the length of her ears that are accommodated with colorful studs.

Weapon: Bow with spiked arrowheads

“Let’s braid your hair up Saray, for today is the day your mother and father will be newly weds!” The manor’s spunky maid sung as she entered De’Saray’s grand, embroidered bedroom. She yanked the girl’s bedroom curtains open to let the sun’s warming rays strike the girl’s bedsheets, to which she’d just pull up higher, over her head.
“ Go away. ” Saray whispered, not loud enough for the servant to hear under unruly, blonde curls. Saray wasn’t a rude person, normally, but this was the day she loathed most, seeing her new ‘father’ take the throne of this french manor. They weren’t broke, nor were they the richest people on earth. Such were the people who were lucky enough to be the ambassadors of kings and queens.
“Saray, ohhh saray ~. This is the day you should be proud of most of the seventeen years you’ve lived. Everyday has been wake up, homeschool, practice archery skills on your horse blaze, and sleep. Quite the monster that animal is….” The maid ended on a low note after ridiculing the girl’s best and only friend.
Saray ejected upright in her bed, tossing of the covers. She shivered as a gust of cold air replaced the warmth, but nevertheless glared at the maid as she rubbed the goosebumps off of her arms.
. “You forgot one thing. My such everlasting destiny to become the next death. It’s starting today, for real. I’m leaving for Black University:. I cannot stand whom my mom is going to marry, and I am seventeen. You're right, i should be proud of this day because it’s the very day i leave this place. Thank you for raising me into the women i’ve grown to be; independant. Fierce. But always loving even during my parent’s absence..” Thank you, Rose.
Have the guard ready blaze, please. “

Personality:
Her interest is, of course, in pleasure of living; her own and of close friend’s pleasure to be exact. She's very whimsical and prone to pouting and sulking if she doesn't get what she wants. Her mood is wavering, and depends entirely upon recent events. She is very much attracted to physical appearances but her one true love will be of personality decent- even if good looks are nonexistant.

Shiro

Name: Shiro Takamata, played by Nytefall

Gender: Female

Appearance:


Weapon:A Bō staff made from tough tempered steel it is around 7 and a half feet long..


Background:The Takamata family are avid buddhists and believe that peace can be achieved only through meditation and training. This training however is not easy and is designed to work both body and mind in order to gain true balance within your body and mind. At least that’s what Shiro’s family thinks, Shiro see’s it as a way to train herself to enlighten others.

Shiro’s parents were overjoyed when they received the invite to Black University for Shiro. They hope that the university will teach Shiro some self control and help deal with her issues. Shiro’s parents however do not know about the real reason for Shiro’s summons to the university.

Personality:Shiro has a very chaotic personality and while not a self destructive person she can be a bit of a masochist enjoying pain that she inflicts on others and on herself. Shiro has trouble sitting still and prefers to be active.Shiro is also bipolar and can switch from a level headed individual to an aggressive psycho. This may make her seem like an inappropriate choice to become grim reaper however, her level headed side is extremely cold and calculating. Taking her shifts in mood to her own advantage and not allowing herself to lose too much control. Unless she wants to. ;)

Alexandra

Alexandra Cooper, played by wonderlandalli
Age 18
Weapon: Dagger

Appearance:

A doe-eyed, mousy-haired girl who's average appearance easily blends into a crowd to avoid socializing. Her hair is long and wavy, but not well trimmed. Her skin is clear, but a bit pasty. She's also not terribly strong, and eats like a little bird.


Background:

Alexandra didn't quite fit in at home. She had a fondness for books and a tendency to go off into her own head, but it didn't take long to realize the difference between bored fantasies and visions that would come to pass. It started with things that seemed coincidental: she'd see the a missing person in the news, then would have a dream later of the scene of where the body would be found, then later see footage or news reports that matched her visions exactly. Over time, it slowly progressed and she would have dreams about people she had met the previous day, only to find they had come to some sort of end. She can't figure out how to stop the things from happening to them, and has come to the conclusion she probably is not supposed to stop it, but instead to be a sort of witness. This is a large part of the cause of her being an introvert.

Personality:

Alexandra is an extreme introvert that prefers to keep to her room and her own affairs but thrives in the online world where she can let her guard down thanks to anonymity. She hides her real identity online entirely, never even posting a selfie. She's most often found in libraries or at her home by her computer with a good book and a cup of tea. It's unlikely she has an aggressive bone in her body.

Kacey

Name: Kacey Lora, played by RainDash
Age: 18
Appearance: Short black hair that appears to have been messily cut with a pair of safety scissors and braided with feather or other various objects. A scar rests just under her right eye, and the scar extends to her right ear. She has blue eyes. She stands about 5' 9". She usually wears a hoodie over a black vest, clip on tie, and black slacks. The only thing that appears out of place on her 'formal' attire are a pair of muddy combat boots that she refuses to take off.
Weapon: Sword.
Background: Kacey was born to a family that barely scraped by from day to day. Instead of stay and watch her parents suffer, she packed a couple changes of clothes into her bag and vanished into the night. She roamed the country for years, often dodging police and also whatever she saw that others didn't. When she turned sixteen, she then took a job wherever she was and paid her way across the country. By now she was too used to roaming, and didn't stop until she received an invitation to Black University. Deciding to check it out, she was surprised to see an offer for a full ride through the program… if she could make it. With a smile, she accepted this challenge.
Personality: A show off, Kacey likes to practice parkour so that she can fight and move quicker. Kacey likes music and studying, but she's not really interested in becoming a Grim Reaper, but she figures that it might just be challenging enough to keep in one place for a while. Kacey can come off as abrasive, but deeply cares for others, often times putting complete strangers before herself. Due to her lack of contact with others, her social skills are a bit rusty, and she doesn't really understand slang at all.

Grace

Name: Grace Mathews, played by RumikoOhara

Weapon: Whip

Background: Grace is considered to have had a very tragic life though to look at her few could guess.

Grace was delivered C-section from the womb of her mother who had died in a train wreck. Her doctor had been the forensics doctor at the local morgue who seeing the belly of a pregnant corpse move acted with haste.
Using the tools he normally used to dissect the dead he cut her out and lifted her blood covered body from her dead mother and wrapped her in the sheets normally used to shroud the dead.

She was turned over to the nearby hospital to be checked for injuries as the authorities sought any family she might have.

When no one came forward the children's service named her Grace the social worker having a sense of irony for the little girl was the only survivor of the passenger car in which she was found.

She was briefly a child celebrity as news services clamored to see her and tell her story. Once the interest died down she was discreetly offered up for adoption and taken in by the Mathews family.

Her life till she turned 8 was typical then while attending a family vacation in Israel was caught in the blast of a suicide bomb. Once again Grace had been in a scene of great tragedy and came out merely stunned and once again without family

Retrieved by the authorities Grace was sent home where she was again the subject of the presses interest.

Grace then was shuffled from foster home to foster home never living in any of them for more than a year. Till her 13th birthday when she was taken in by a Methodist children's home where she spent 2 years till a fire destroyed the girl's dormitory killing six of her fellow students and a teacher.

Once more Grace was shuttled through the system and even the social workers had decided she somehow carried the curse of death around her.

Even amid this turmoil and insecurity Grace excelled at her schooling graduating with a 4.0 average. But because of her erratic school record she was not the speaker at her high school graduation

She didn't even think of applying for scholarships instead thinking she'd simply just become a wanderer. Now free from the system she was just beginning her wandering when she Encountered a recruiter from BU who knew her secret. Who knew she was able to see days before the event a dark shroud surround those about to die. He convinced Grace that there was a place that understood her and where she'd be welcomed, where death was no longer her curse.

Personality: Grace is always happy even when others believe she should be sad or worried. This habit is unnerving to some and annoying to others but she doesn't care. Grace loves spicy food to the point of obsession the hotter the better and it reflects it's self in any dish she's responsible for cooking.
She loves to dress provocatively but is unaware that she is so dressed thinking others make a big deal over her clothing

Kazuki

Name: Kazuki Yasuhiro. played by Lionheart
Age: 19
Appearance: Rather tall standing at 6', his neck-length black hair falls were it may and he generally doesn't do much about it. His green eyes are piercing, analytical, like they see through your soul. He has a fairly muscular build and a pale complexion.

Weapon: Sword

Background: Kazuki was born to two very ambitious, very busy business people who work for a large computer company. As such they never had much time for him growing up, leaving him to more or less fend for himself. Having no home life to speak of Kazuki become something of a recluse, sure he did excellent in school but no one really knew him, he had no friends.

And so he lived, middle school was a blur, highschool came and went. When the invitation for black university came he had already been making his own decisions for years. So he packed his bags, notified his parents in case they cared at all, and moved to the school.

Personality: Cold and calculating, though if he's approached he will generally at least be polite. Kazuki views everything and everyone in the most logical way he can. He analyzes everything and is serious to a fault. He has a very, very dry sense of humor, and no interest in friends or generally other people as a whole.

Alexander

Name: Alexander Westfield, played by Eisenhorn

Age: 19

Appearance:


Weapon: Unarmed

Background: Coming from a background that lacked any sort of notability or notoriety, one would wonder how Alexander made it as far as he did without resorting to his father or mother's footsteps. Born into borderline poverty, his mother barely making ends meet for his family while his father tried to gamble and con his way out of deeper and deeper debt, all stemming from that very same gambling that was the key to their survival, or so the old man would spout on about while things continued to degenerate. Despite this, Alexander didn't let the circumstances get him down, fighting and struggling, literally and figuratively, for every inch of ground and success he could garner in life, no matter what others said was possible with the hand he had been dealt in life. No matter how bad the situation got, how close to the end he got, he came back swinging harder and burning brighter than before. This precarious dance through the backstreets led him away from home, moving from job to job, fight to fight, walking away from some stronger, and running from others wiser, managing to teach himself what schools would teach normal teens and young adults in his downtime.

But this was not what Alexander wanted for his life, and he sought out ways to better himself through the chaos. It came in the form of an unusual letter that caught up with him somehow, despite his constantly changing location. The flowery lettering and signature announced that the Black University was offering him a place amongst its talented pupils. Alexander wasn't one to look a gift horse in the mouth, as the saying went, and accepted, packing his meager belongings and marching off for the campus, not even thinking about any ulterior motives hidden behind the invitation.

Personality: Alex is coarse and blunt when it comes to dealing with the things in life, more than ready to just upright tell someone his opinion if asked for it, whether its tactful or not, and stands by for any consequences he might face as well from it, and then continue wandering through his life afterwords without a look back or the remotest concept of an apology. He is stubborn to a fault, not willing to back down well after a smarter or less stubborn person would have long since backed down, even after he can't physically fight, he'll keep at whatever has dropped him so low. But this does make him reliable and honest, mostly, and he will go to the ends of the earth and back to accomplish a goal if he gets it into his head just right to see it done, even if it takes him far outside anything he has ever known in his experiences.

Ramon

Name: Ramon Othane, played by Krodin329
Age:18
Appearance: Short red brown hair, light brown eyes, 6'1, thicker build than the picture implies.

Weapon: Sword
Background: Ramon was born under of a wealthy family that valued hard work, whether it was via school, sports, or anything someone took passionately to. At the early age of 5 his parents began to train him in martial arts before grade school in order to get a jump start on discipline and good behavior. This also put the family's values into young Ramon's mind. Through the coarse of his schooling Ramon's skill in both academics and martial arts progressed greatly. However, he became very violent when provoked into a fight both in and out of school, contradicting his usually gentle and caring nature. As he went to more and more tournaments and thrashed the competition he earned the nick name Evil Angel for the extreme difference between him in and out of combat. As he soared in his combat career he did so in academics as well. He showed no sign of slowing down either. Being the school treasurer, captain of the martial arts team, and valedictorian made him the most popular kid in high school, and gained him instant acceptance into BU.
Personality: Gentle, hardworking, and caring, but when in combat ( martial arts are hapkido, eskrima, and tae kwon do) he is a completely different person, brutal, vicious, and unrelenting, nothing stops him from achieving victory short of a stronger opponent.

Marcus

Name: Marcus Blake, played by Lionheart MarumasaLuckySpectre

Appearance: Dark black hair with hazel brown eyes

Marcus sat in his room, he had been in another argument with his parents about his lack of effort during work, and how he was a waste of space in the family. His older brother is a well renowned lawyer, known for his ability to win around eighty percent of his cases and getting the criminal rightfully jailed, so as his younger brother and also studying law Marcus' parents always compare him to his older brother always making him feel useless and pathetic. it had always been that way, since he was younger he had been the other son.

"urgh sick and tired of being treated this way just because i mess around in class more than he did" Marcus ventured over to his desk to see a small little envelope sitting aside the computer, it was the acceptance from the BU, a university he had been chosen by, not because of his intellect, but mostly for the part of him hidden away from other people. "Mum... Dad, i'm going to Black University... to study law?" His parents didn't believe in him, and thought that he would fail this course, but he didn't care since it wasn't the complete reason he was going.

Marcus began packing his bags, he packed some clothes, some items that he though would be necessary for his new life away from home. His laptop was the first thing he placed in a bag and chucked aside, then his clothes were packed into a red suitcase, all the other items remained in his room stacked away neatly. He slumped onto his bed and sighed, "how long will it take for mum or dad to sell my things once i leave?" in truth Marcus loved his family dearly, he always did but he never had the best relationship with them, so leaving wasn't going to be hard on him, not even the slightest.

Personality: Marcus is a passive person, doesn't like to get involved with things that doesn't effect him, though he contradicts himself on this as he will act upon righteousness and good spirit. He likes to protect people, and usually finds himself in trouble after helping someone else out of their troubles. He is socially active, being the person that is usually always talking to others and usually told of for it, but he finds comfort in speaking to others.

Finally, here are the rules for conduct in the RP:
1 - RESPECT - You need to treat your fellow players with respect. That should be a given. That means if you have a problem with someone, please deal with it like an adult and talk to them about it, don't bring any squabbles into the IC or OOC. It can ruin the fun for everyone
2 - Post Length - Posts are to be at least 3-5 sentences long. I'm not worried about paragraphs, so long as the posts have actual content. If you have an occasional short post, I understand, but if you continue to post 1 sentence posts or the dreaded 2 word posts, I WILL have you removed from the RP. On the flipside, I don't want any giant posts. Casual is not the place for essays, and they can overwhelm very quickly.
3 - Collaboration & Posting times - You are allowed to collaborate on posts. If you want to put in a quick conversation between characters and you don't want it interrupted (within reason), or just want to write 3-4 paragraphs, that's fine, but again, I don't want to see any essays or posts over 500 words. That simple. As for posting, I'm okay with the occasional back and forth, but if you've posted 3 times before someone else has gotten a turn, wait. If you think someone is taking too long to post, please tell me, and I'll make the final decision. DO NOT WRITE OFF OTHER PLAYERS. SEE RULE 1.
4 - Have fun. Really. The concept of this RP is to have the players make discoveries along with the characters.

Grace Matthews/RumikoOhara: Not yet accepted, please simplify the weapon to a basic category. Chain swords could be brought down to swordlikes or whiplikes. Note: Coming off a bit sueish. Just my observation. No changes to history need to be done though.
Shiro Takamata/Nytefall: Not yet accepted, please simplify weapon to polelike, stafflike, or whiplike.
Gabriel Fried/Rune_Alchemist: Not yet accepted, please simplify weapon type to axelike or polearm.
Sulfur Bellose/kingdomkeylight: Not yet accepted, please simplify weapon type to axelike. As of this point, I'm not accepting any characters who know about reapers, so history needs to be tweaked.

Yeah, I've no more things that need tweaks aside from what I've said. Anyway, do not take these as attacks on you or your characters, I've simply had too many of my RPs fail due to just accepting characters left and right. I will be making the OOC shortly.

CSes will be evolving throughout the course of the RP, so just because I've denied your weapon to start, it does NOT mean you will not be allowed to use that, it simply means you don't START with it. It will be explained very early in the RP.

Well aware of the difference, but believe it or not, I have a plan, and I am deliberately withholding information. Things are going to be revealed to the characters and the players as time goes on. That's why I'm saying keep it simple. I plan to allow the evolution of characters and their CSes.

Okay, two major annoyance points:

One: Keep. Weapons. Simple. Everyone starts with a general weapon type. Hatchets? Just an axe. Battleaxe? STILL JUST AN AXE. Got a Zweihander? Just a sword. Katana? Same. Bloody. Sword. Everyone starts with a weapon type singular at the start, and they don't even have access to it until a few posts into the RP.

Two: Once I start going over CSes tomorrow, I will not accept any history as a reaper sorts.I've allowed two, and that's it. The majority of the students should only know they were given a free ride at a prestigious school. If you look at my CS, you may notice that my character has NO IDEA why he's there. That should be the majority, not just one guy.

Sorry about being a hardass on this, but it needs to be done. OOC will be up tomorrow.

Edit: So the second problem seems less severe after a quick skim. My apologies about being so harpy on it. Still, I will not be accepting any more students who already know the school's secret. So yeah.
