Westeros Before Valyria

The feuding of the the various kings never seem to stop. Petty battles over irrelevant specks of land, ambitious lords and their hosts in constant rebellion, the entire continent becoming one large battleground, this is just part of daily life. Life is naught but blood and gold, and honeyed words reach miles where an oiled blade wouldn't. In all of this, the long arms of superstition envelop the minds of the people, smallfolk and lord alike. The suggestion of magic carries a far greater distance than it did, as something to be feared and loved in equal measure. Truly, Westeros stands strong!

In the east, licking its wounds from the Doom, Valyria stands watching. Watches as Storm and Sand, Lion and Kraken, Wolf and Fish tear themselves apart. And Valyria smiles, as it unfurls its wing and takes flight from Dragonstone. Smiles as it dreams of flames and conquest, of Andal flesh and First Men marrow. Of Ironborn heads and Rhoynish feet. Soon, all Seven Kingdoms shall bow before the Dragon. They will know Fire and Blood, and drink deep in the well of defeat as they burn.

Welcome all players! This is the story of a time not too long before Aegon's Conquest, when the land was far less unified. We go back to when Kingdoms had actual kings, and the Targaryen threat seemed insignificant and distant. The world was a much different place, far larger and more mysterious.

It's highly recommended that you play as an existing house. If that's not your cup of tea, I won't fault you for it, but give a good reason in-universe as to why at least. Also, don't make them a king. However, characters are not bound to canon, so you can (and should) play as a non-canon member of an existing house.

So enter, my friends. Welcome to Westeros!

Rules:
1. Have fun (optional, really, but why would you stay if you weren't?)
2. Keep your posts simple.
3. Even dragons are mortal.
4. The canon is teacher, not God.
5. Keep OOC civil.
6. Don't be afraid to give suggestions.
7. Characters must be approved before added to the Char page.
Is there still room for another player?
Digging and picking, seeding and chopping. All the monotonous events of the day blurred together, becoming one long hot session of work. Rughoi looked out from under the haze of dust at the other workers. Most of them kobold, like he is, but all regular sized. They, he knew all too well, would work until they drop, then further still, and for what? A scruple of low value coins, and a kind word if the farmers were the kind sort. When this is all mine, he promised himself, hacking away at stalks of wheat with renewed vigor. When this is all mine. Everyone shall bow in equal measure. I will be - no, AM, they just don't realize yet - Emperor of All I See, Prince of the Desert Itself. The thought made him smile despite the heat. Everyone shall bow.

If you had any pretensions to seriousness upon entering should be left at the door. Welcome to the party age of 1960! Where the winners of the past war are now riding the wave of money that comes with conflict (not so much the losers, but who cares about them?). However, as all this is happening, something sinister lurks under the decadence, something very angry at the imbalance of the human population, something made of dairy products . . .
In like the sword of the soldiers that killed my loved ones.
@FallenTrinity Yes, dead cheese monsters return to the base cheese of which they were made.

Various sorts of cheese.
Still here . . . still waiting . . .
Still waiting on a couple more members, and we'll be good to go.
