Awhile ago I wanted to get an eFed style pro wrestling RP going on here. So if we were to organize something like that I think it would be pretty cool. I'd be curious to at least see what ideas you have and I might be interested in participating. Send me a PM as well if you feel up to it, I'm a huge wrestling fan.

Raiders: An Indiana Jones RP

Honestly guys, I'm really liking how our little team has come together and I enjoyed reading all of your character sheets. We've got an archaeologist, a secret agent, a master thief, an expert mechanic and a supernatural anthropologist. Pretty formidable. As it stands right now, we have a good number of characters to begin. If one more player wants to join that would be fine, but probably no more than that. I'm going to be busy today with New Year's Eve shit but I'll try to kick things off in the IC thread tomorrow.

The only thing that I think needs to be tweaked is Alexander Van Helsing's age. According to the CS he is 16 years old, but the picture is of Neil Patrick Harris who is like 30 and the character is supposed to be a professional anthropologist and historian.

Alright, here's my character.

John Addison

Name: John Addison
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Nationality: Canadian
Height: 6'2
Weight: 215 lbs.

Profession: Secret Agent
Strengths: Charm and charisma. Naturally persuasive, preferring to talk his way out of situations rather than fight. A master of linguistics, fluent in numerous languages. An aspiring novelist and an exceptional dresser.
Weaknesses: Overconfidence in his own abilities. Lack of trust resulting from a career in espionage.

Personality: An arrogant and suave exterior that masks a general feeling of loneliness. Has spent so much time putting up a facade and pretending to be someone else that he has generally lost track of his own personal identity.

Biography: John's father, Jack Addison, served in the First World War, fighting in the same regiment as a young Indiana Jones. Jack was a mentor of sorts to Indy during the war, and the two became friends. After he returned from the war, Jack and his wife moved to Canada where they settled down. On July 29th 1927, they had their first and only child, John.

John's early years were rocky to say the least, as his father suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. When John was 7 years old, his father passed away. After Jack's death, John and his mother moved back to the United States to be closer to her family. John had always excelled in school, with a particular affinity for languages. By the time he was a teenager he was already fluent in English, French, Spanish and German. He ended up graduating high school early, and at the age of 17 he was recruited by the Office of Strategic Services. The man responsible for his recruitment was none other than Indiana Jones.

As an OSS agent, John embarked on a series of undercover missions during the end of World War II. He specialized as an agent provocateur, using his natural charm and charisma to turn enemies into allies. During his time with the OSS, Dr. Jones became a father figure to John, much like how Jack had been a father to Indy during the First World War. In 1945, John met and fell in love with a beautiful British agent named Madelyn. The two were engaged to be married before she ultimately fell ill. Less than a year later, she died.

With the end of World War II and the eventual onset of the Cold War, the OSS was dissolved, being replaced by the CIA. John continues his work with the CIA, and has developed a reputation as one of the agency's best operatives. He has also developed a reputation as a womanizer, although in truth he is simply struggling to move on and fill the void left by Madelyn's death. Lately, John has begun the rather arduous task of writing a book, inspired by his adventures as a secret agent. He has dedicated to book to Madelyn's memory and hopes that completing it will bring him some measure of closure. The few who know him well say that he will never finish it.

Raiders: An Indiana Jones RP

If adventure has a name, it must be Indiana Jones.

The famous archaeologist and noted acquirer of rare antiquities has traveled the world in search of valuable artifacts, uncovering danger at every turn. However, at 60 years of age, Dr. Jones has decided to hang up the whip and fedora. Now happily married, and with added responsibilities as an associate dean at Marshall College, Indy's treasure hunting days are behind him. Unfortunately for Dr. Jones, the U.S. government seems rather uninterested in his so-called retirement and is in need of his assistance once again.

It is 1959, the height of the Cold War, and intelligence reports suggest that the Soviet Union is in search of an unspeakably powerful artifact, an artifact believed to be an object of mythology rather than history. The Russians intend on using it's power to fuel a devastating super weapon, and it must not fall into their hands. Dr. Jones has assembled an elite team of treasure hunters, comprised of his former students and associates, to find this artifact before the Russians do. You have been asked to join this team and complete this mission.

This is an RP inspired by Indiana Jones, the only man who should ever wear a fedora. The tone of the RP will be pretty much identical to the Indy movies so there's really no need to take anything too seriously. Always remember, these are the movies where a guy jumps out of a plane and inflates a rubber raft in mid-air. Standard casual RP rules apply, which means proper spelling, grammar and punctuation?!

Insert a photograph at the top of your character sheet. Try not to use any hand-drawn or anime style images. Use a real photo of an actor or actress that would play your character in a movie. Anime and Indiana Jones don't really mix. At all.

Strengths: What specific skills does your character bring to the table? I find that making these skills as specific as possible makes a character that much more memorable. Are you a speaker of five languages? A master of disguise? An expert vodka drinker? Again, try to have skills that set your character apart.
Weaknesses: The most important aspect of any character. What can your enemies exploit to get the best of you?

Personality: A few sentences describing your character's general demeanor and outlook on life.

Biography: A brief summary of your character's history. Be sure to include how they came to know Indiana Jones. Maybe you were a top student in one of his classes, a rival treasure hunter who turned into an ally, a small Asian boy who tried to pick his pocket and got caught. I'm sure you'll come up with something.

I think it would probably start in 1958, so Indy would retire after the events of Crystal Skull. I definitely like the idea of utilizing Greek mythology, although I'm not sure if we would look for the Golden Fleece specifically. There was another artifact related to Greek myth that I did have in mind, but we'll see. I do agree with what Gisk was saying in that it would be cool to focus on cultures the movies didn't explore.

If one of two more people express interest I'll create the official RP thread and we'll get this show on the road.

Raiders: An Indiana Jones RP

A long time ago I posted an idea on here for an RP inspired by Indiana Jones, and watching an Indy marathon on TV over the holidays made me want to dig up this idea again...

Anyways, the basic premise is that Indiana Jones is retired but has assembled a team of his former students and associates to search for lost artifacts. Of course, these artifacts will have a certain supernatural flair to them, and will attract the attention of some unsavory adversaries. In this RP we will play as members of Indy's team, the Raiders, and embark on a series of different adventures. The style and tone will be identical to that of the Indiana Jones films so don't expect anything overly serious or dark. It's meant to be a fun, fast-paced action adventure story. If you're interested or have any questions be sure to let me know. I have a few ideas for different artifacts we will be searching for, but if there's something you think would be cool or interesting please don't hesitate to let me know about that either.

That's not at all what I said. I said for you to do your scene with Lex, and then at the end of the scene, Batman can hear the Watchtower alert.

The scene with Lex and Batman can easily take place entirely before the battle at the Watchtower.

I just kind of find a lot of what he did in the OP to be kind of iffy in terms of politeness for RPs but I'm letting it slide and I don't want to make a big deal out of this stuff. No real harm so all's forgiven although I'm not sure how 'interrogate Luthor' involves Maximus, if you could explain that'd be good.and yeah NicNak if you could try to work on formatting/capitalizing/punctuation and all that jazz a little more it would make reading and understanding your posts and such a lot easier. I don't mean to be a grammar nazi either, it just saves time and makes things nicer.As for Batman ignoring that stuff...um...I don't think he would, could the Lex stuff maybe be happening at a different time or...something? I just don't feel like it's in-character for Batman to ignore a major threat to Earth and agree with earlier mentioned stuff a bit...but hmm...

Yeah you could just have Batman finish up with Lex, then get the alert to return to the Watchtower. Simple enough.
