Oh, great! I have a character who was embraced when Constantinople was seized by the Ottomans. Obviously, that’s a bit later than you are talking, but what I’m trying to say is, I’d be down, either way.

Something quite open-ended though with a few guiding plotlines like vampires trying to destroy Greek Fire, while humans want to rediscover/spread its us

all the while vampires are still too strong to be forced completely into hiding, yet are also quite busy squabbling among themselves to do something about the slow rise of the Inquisition and/or the Akritai.

Aye. I was thinking of something mid 1200s focused on Southern Europe/Asia minor, the Crusader States, Greece, etc. though with some room to be broader. Focus on the very slow start of humanity pushing back on vampires.
