Been pulling ten hour shifts the last few days and got two more ahead of me so I won't have any energy to get started on a post until my weekend on Monday, but hopefully I'll be able to get one up the same day I start it so I can hop into the NYC event.

Moon Knight kind of became the new hotness for me after many years of only ever apping Q and occasionally the Punisher in these games. I tried my best to come up with a cool concept for Q that was unique from what I'd already done to avoid retreading old ground, but I found that I was at a loss for anything beyond my initial arc. So rather than continue beating a dead horse, I'm going to beat a dying horse.
Marc's origin is pretty standard Moon Knight fair: mercenary, killed by Bushman, resurrected by Khonshu, came back to America to become Moon Knight. Marc and his alters have just begun their superhero career, only active in NYC as Moon Knight for about two months at the start of my run. His supporting cast will be composed of the initial supporting cast from the 80s Moench run (with a far more removed Marlene because I do NOT find her interesting), with some characters from MK's later runs such as Detective Flint and Layla El-Faouly thrown in.
Because I do plan on getting back to Odyssey at some point, I do not plan to retread the ground I was planning on treading there. In Odyssey, I was planning on telling a story focused on Marc's Midnight Mission and him taking on almost exclusively supernatural threats. I do still plan on doing a few supernatural plots but the main focus will be on the criminal underworld of NYC, paying respects to Silverstein's Daredevil/Elektra concept where NYC has become a cyberpunk dystopia but without all the cool shit. While Silverstein plans on focusing on the political and social corruption of the Big Apple as well as DD and Elektra fighting more monstrous versions of their usual rogues, I plan on Marc tackling smaller scale threats such as gangs, mobs, and lower tier metahumans and mutants.
P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S )
My goal is to get into crossovers (which I haven't done in almost two years and before that it had been six years) and focusing on a "villain of the week" style formula when I do solo posts, with small self contained arcs each lasting a post or two, three tops. To get myself started, I plan on throwing myself into Roman's monster attack in NYC and going from there.
If you're in NYC or any of the adjacent cities or can realistically slot your character in AND any of these catch your eye, feel free to send me a PM on RPG or a DM on Discord about making it a crossover.
Roughly Chronological Order Hungry Like The Wolf - Moon Knight is hired by the Committee to capture a werewolf that has been stalking Staten Island, putting him on a collision course with a young lycanthropic man named Jack Russell. Midnight In A Perfect World - The Midnight Man has been striking art galleries and private collections throughout New York City, stealing priceless paintings and sculptures. Moon Knight takes it upon himself to investigate. The Killing Moon - A ruthless vigilante, the Stained Glass Scarlet, has been striking the mob families of New York City, leaving crossbow bolt ridden bodies in her wake. Conflicted on her methods, Marc tries to seek her out to decide if he needs to stop her or if he should just leave her be. Came Back Haunted - Marlene enlists Moon Knight's help after her brother Dr. Peter Alraune begins receiving threats to his life from a former patient named Robert Markham. The strange thing is, Robert Markham died four months ago.

The year was 1996. A new hero emerged on the scene in Calder City: the Queen of Blades, a young woman capable of flight and summoning ghostly blades that she could manipulate with tactile telekinesis. Behind the mask was May Morgan, an intern at Harper Mueller and Co. Attorneys At Law in downtown Calder City. A year into her career, she would form a heroic partnership with Shining Shield, a hero with the similar power of summoning apparitions of shields.
The two would make names for themselves as heroes in the city, putting away countless criminals and several supervillains. The most prominent of these villains was Omega, a powerhouse with enhanced strength, speed, durability, and flight. While Omega was susceptible to any form of damage, the Queen's ghostly blades were able to pierce him near effortlessly.
In 1999, May met Benjamin Knight, a local bartender that she would begin to date and reveal her heroic life to. Two years later, her partner Shining Shield died forming a barricade around her and a civilian as a building collapsed around them. Despite this tragedy, May continued her work alone, finding comfort in Ben.
In 2002, May and Ben married in a small ceremony, and a year later their son Scott was born. At that point, May was a successful lawyer and Ben had opened his own bar in the south side of Calder City that was a popular spot on the weekends. Scott's early childhood was spent relatively normally, save for the fact that his mother was a beloved superhero who openly regaled her son with tales of her exploits, both old and new.
Shortly before his 8th birthday, Scott's powers manifested when he summoned a ghostly shortsword in his hand while playing alone outside. At first he was amazed, swinging it around recklessly, but then he found he couldn't make it go away. He burst into tears and eventually his parents came outside to find him, his mother coaching him until he eventually managed to make the blade dissipate. May promised to train her son in the usage of his powers after his birthday.
Then the day came when everything changed: October 12th. The Knight family was having a day out to celebrate Scott's 8th birthday, seated at a restaurant and waiting for their food to be served. The next thing they knew, the building was falling down around them, a hulking figure in a skintight bodysuit standing among the rubble.
Omega.
"Found you."
Ben took Scott into his arms and ran as far as he could while May stayed behind to fend off Omega. Ben dropped his son off in a safe place and ran back to the restaurant to help his wife, Scott immediately sprinting as fast as his little legs would let him after his father. When Scott caught up to his father, Omega was nowhere to be found. What Scott did find was his father, holding the corpse of his wife in his arms.
Omega was recaptured and taken into Vanguard custody shortly after the incident. A large public memorial service was held in Calder City for the Queen of Blades, and a small private memorial was held for May Knight by family and friends. The trauma of the attack and the loss of his mother caused Scott to withdraw, cutting himself off from friends at school. Ben tried his best to comfort his son while managing his own grief, but no matter how hard he tried Scott kept his distance.
As Scott grew older and entered his teen years, this distance became outright hostility as he began to fall in with the wrong crowd, experimenting with drugs and alcohol as well as committing petty crime. His father couldn't figure out how to get through to his son, and their relationship fell to an all time low.
One late night alone in his room, Scott dropped acid for the first time. The experience was a harrowing and soul-rending one as Scott found himself face to face with his mother, begging her son not to throw his life away. After he came back to his senses, it was as though a switch had been flipped in the young man: he cut contact with his delinquent friends and cleaned up his act, reconnecting with his father and reaching out to old friends, hoping to mend bridges he thought had long burned.
The rest of high school passed by peacefully, Scott finally feeling as though he had recovered from his mother's death. He enrolled in an art school a few states away to study audio engineering in the university's music department. He hadn't even summoned his sword in years at that point. But inside of him there was still a yawning pit, a void that he didn't know how to fill.
One night Scott was walking back to his apartment only to find a drunk man harassing a girl he knew, trying to force himself onto her. He knew he couldn't just let that happen. The young man stepped in, holding a glowing blade to the drunk's throat. The older man took off running as soon as the blade was lowered. Scott helped the girl back to her apartment and then went back home.
It hit him: he needed to follow in his mother's footsteps.
The next few weeks were spent going out at night wearing a ski mask and foiling low level crimes in the area around his university. As he did so, his grades and attendance dropped steadily, but to Scott, his burgeoning career as a crime fighter was more important. Eventually, he was forced to drop out and move back to Calder City, getting a job at a bar that wasn't his dad's and renting a cramped basement apartment downtown. He continued his vigilante activities.
His dad caught on pretty quickly when a vigilante using a ghost sword showed up in town the same week his son moved back. The two of them got into a long argument, Ben demanding that Scott give it up with Scott refusing to back down. Eventually Ben's anger turned to sadness and he began to plead with Scott, telling him that he didn't want to lose his son the same way he lost his wife. As much as it hurt him, Scott told his father that this is what he needed to do, and eventually Ben accepted defeat.
By now, Scott has made a small name for himself in Calder City, moving up from a ski mask and a hoodie to a sort of city biker styled outfit. One of these days he's going to have to find out where Shield got his armor made, but for now it works.
Pretty soon, the Ace of Blades will be a household name in Calder City.
Spectral Weapons - Weapons made of pure glowing blue energy. Their sharpness, strength, and durability is dependent upon the user's willpower. They are effectively weightless, requiring finesse and skill more than raw strength to wield effectively. At the moment, Scott can only summon a single longsword, though over time he will be able to learn to summon different kinds of weapons such as axes, maces, spears, and other kinds of swords, as well as shields. Eventually, he will be able to summon multiple weapons at a time.
Tactile Telekinesis - A subset of telekinesis, only capable of affecting Scott's spectral weapons as well as his own body. He doesn't have any sort of skill in using it, but eventually he will be able to deftly control his weapons when they aren't in hand, sending them flying and recalling them swiftly. The capstone of his development of his abilities will be learning to use this ability to fly.
Myers-Briggs Personality Type: INFP (Mediator) Scott is a quiet young man, not as outgoing as he was as a child but not as misanthropic as he was as a teenager. He prefers to stick to the people he knows, rarely venturing to make new friends, but when approached first finds himself able to fall into pleasant conversations with people he doesn't know well pretty easily after feeling out the vibe. To those who know him well, he's a deeply compassionate person who strives to do right by everyone, though he often gets caught up in his own head thinking about everything that could go wrong.
In costume, Ace of Blades hearkens back to both his mother's persona as a wisecracking yet compassionate heroine as well as Shining Shield's stoic man of few words attitude. Ace is mostly silent, though when he does speak it's usually to let out a sarcastic quip at the expense of whatever crook he's about to beat the crap out of. When dealing with civilians, he stays mostly reserved, but will offer words of comfort and assurance.
As far as hobbies, Scott is an avid audiophile, producing music in his free time, collecting vinyls and CDs, and attending concerts and festivals when he can scrape up the money for it. He's also a huge comic book nerd, owning several mint condition issues of comics licensing the stories of real world heroes like his mother and Shining Shield as well fictional superheroes from companies like DC and Marvel. On top of these framed issues, he also has entire crates of loose issues and many trade paperbacks.
M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S
At the moment, Scott's two main goals are to make the streets of Calder City safer and gain renown as the inheritor of his mother's mantle. Everything else is secondary, including his civilian life. As much as he tries to deny it, he's also hoping that he can eventually be strong enough that he can avenge his mother in the event that Omega resurfaces, feeling that he won't be able to get closure until Omega is finally dead.

This is not the Question as we know him, fighting street crime and political corruption. This is the Question as I've always wanted to write him, tackling the occult and paranormal in the vein of Carl Kolchak from Kolchak The Night Stalker or Mulder and Scully from The X-Files. There will be hints of his typical comic escapades, occasionally busting up a bodega burglar or taking out a local mob outfit, but these will be rarer occurrences in favor of leaning more into supernatural horror. Cults worshiping forgotten pagan deities, isolated towns with dark secrets, ghosts and voodoo and maybe even scary aliens. The sky's the limit.
I will mostly be telling self contained stories (wouldn't be a one universe game if I wasn't playing with my toys by myself), but I am open to collaborations and crossovers if myself and the other player(s) are able to come up with something cool.

Javier Oscar Guerra was born 15th March, 2000 in Barstow, California. His father Luis Javier Guerra was a third generation Mexican immigrant and retired Gunnery Sergeant formerly enlisted in the Marine Corps and his mother Nicole Colette Guerra (née Miller) was an archivist working for the local Mojave River Valley Museum. In high school, Guerra was a stellar athlete if not a standout student; he was the star of the track team as well as the wrestling team while maintaining a GPA of 3.1.
After graduating in 2018, Guerra enlisted in the US Army against his father's wish for him to join the Marines. He excelled in basic training and was deployed to an active combat zone overseas in November of 2018. In 2020, shortly after his 20th birthday, he was approached to join the Special Forces Assessment and Selection program which he accepted. Undergoing three weeks in the SFAS, Guerra was cleared to progress onto the proper Q-Course, and after 17 months he completed the course and earned his Green Beret.
Guerra's first operation as a Special Forces operator was
🄳🄰🅃🄰 🄴🅇🄿🅄🄽🄶🄴🄳
In September of 2024, Guerra's ability awakened when under fire during Operation 🄳🄰🅃🄰 🄴🅇🄿🅄🄽🄶🄴🄳. The stress caused his invulnerability field to surround his skin, protecting him from a round that struck him in the head. It did not pierce his skin but his skull was fractured by the force, leading to a month long hospital stay during which time he was honorably discharged. The incident was passed along through the chain of command and eventually reached Vanguard.
After returning home to the States, Guerra lived in Los Angeles for a time as a security contractor. In August of 2025, Guerra was approached by Vanguard to join Task Force 🄳🄰🅃🄰 🄴🅇🄿🅄🄽🄶🄴🄳, otherwise known as "Zero Unit". After completing his training, Guerra underwent a probationary period during which time he took part in several covert operations abroad. One month ago, Guerra was dubbed Achilles and stationed in Calder City for his first long term deployment as an agent of Vanguard.
Invulnerability Field - Javier's ability manifests as a field which is impenetrable but must be consciously projected. He is able to focus the field across his entire body, and although nothing can pierce his skin when doing this, the kinetic force of impacts can still break his bones or rupture his organs. He has been trained to focus the field on one part of his body and protect his flesh and bones but doing this leaves the rest of his body vulnerable. He is also able to project the field onto objects or people he makes physical contact with, though with the same caveats of only protecting the exterior rather than the internals.
One thing was instilled into Javier from a young age: discipline. Do what you're told, even if it's to your own detriment. His father beat it into him, and despite joining the Army as a form of rebellion against his Marine father, basic training and his subsequent deployments just drilled it into him even further. Becoming a Green Beret provided a release from the rigid structure he was used to, where he began to call his own shots, be his own man. It also taught him his own capacity for violence, which was far greater than he expected it would be. He's done terrible things but he tries to tell himself that it was for a good cause. It doesn't help.
In his personal life, Javier prefers to let his actions speak rather than his words. He is almost never the initiator in conversations and when he does find himself in one prefers to listen rather than talk. His civilian life, if one can call a pseudo-undercover operation in a city he's never lived in full of people he doesn't know a "civilian life", is almost non-existent. He keeps to himself when he's home, occasionally responding to greetings from his neighbors in the lobby or elevator as he's passing through, and rarely heads out recreationally.
In his professional life, Javier puts on whatever mask the situation calls for. If he's obtaining intel at a social gathering, he becomes more affable, more willing to engage with the person he's talking to, all in the hopes of uncovering the information he needs. When he needs to take out a target discretely, he'll disarm them with a smile before sticking a knife in their back when they turn around. In open combat, he detaches himself like an outsider looking in, letting instinct take over until the job is done.
M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S
Javier's primary objective in Calder City is to keep an ear to the ground in order to monitor and dismantle organized criminal activity and plots of domestic terrorism. Only recently instated as an active agent of Vanguard, he hopes to prove himself to his superiors and advance in the agency.
"I am Jean-Paul. But you can call me Frenchie. Everyone else in this place does." He smiles. "Marc Spector, I think you and I are going to become very good friends."
The world goes still after Frenchie says those words, the room collapsing around us and falling into an endless abyss. Back in the void. I look to Jake and Steven, both of them taking this brief respite to stop and think in their own ways: Jake with hands on his hips letting out a heaving sigh, Steven with arms crossed and a pensive expression written on his face. I raise a hand to the back of my neck and take in a deep breath, reeling from the whiplash.
It was quick, sudden. We barely had a moment to process the memories, plowing through them one after the other like a roller coaster through our own personal hell. I look over to the two of them, and it's almost like they can feel my gaze because they look up before I even speak. "How are we holding up, guys?"
Jake gives a strained grin. "Me? Never better." It's a lie, but he makes it sound hearty enough.
Steven isn't having any of it though, giving a snort and rolling his eyes. "Right, just going through the most traumatic events of our lives again. I'm rather chuffed, personally."
"Yeah, tell us how really you feel, Steven."
"Oh, pardon me Jake, I suppose I should be acting all tough like this isn't the worst cock-up we've ever gotten ourselves into. Why the hell are we even here? How, even?"
That makes Jake and I pause. We look at each other, then back to Steven who raises his shoulders in exasperation. I try to rack my brain to think of how we even got here. "... What's the last thing you two remember? Before you were in those coffins?"
Steven and Jake look at each other, then back to me. They're both about to start speaking when they stop, Steven motioning for Jake to go first. "We were... We were in the manor, right? I think Marlene and Frenchie were out, somewhere. It was just us."
Steven nods in agreement. "Think we were having a drink of whiskey. Well, more than one drink. We were on the lash."
I nod along. It comes back to me, at least a bit. "Yeah, yeah that sounds about right. We were spending a lot of time with the statue..." I trail off. The statue, that sandstone monument to the god that had made the three of us a weapon to do his bidding. It's almost like I can still hear him...
His voice echoes through the void, a hint of desperation in the normally deadpan tone. The three of us exchange glances at each other, each of us unsure where the void might take us next. Then the light comes back, the moon shining over us and so close it's almost as if we can reach out and touch it. Endless sandy dunes stretch out for miles with no end in sight.
