Bio

I like edgy bullshit and wholesome content in equal spades. Characters are people, and should be treated with the same thought you'd treat a person in real life with. I like magical girls, fighter jets, and magical girls that are fighter jets, and also vampires.

Don't DM me just asking for RP. If you contact me, put some thought into it. I wouldn't normally put something like this in my bio, but seriously - if I don't know you, and you don't present me with anything to go on, how on earth would I know whether I'd even want to begin putting in the effort?

Haruna did her usual sloughing along to the usual table, where she expected to find Suki having reached it already. With the girl not present, she paused to glance over the area and look for the wayward dark girl. It didn't take long to locate her, given her position wasn't exactly hidden, at which point Haruna shed her book-filled bag and ambled over toward her. She wasn't getting a good read, but it seemed like. . . she wanted to find someone? Or meet someone, something like that. "Is there something wrong, Suki?" she asked, though she honestly didn't expect the greasy-haired girl to share. "There's not trouble, is there?"

The lalafell braced to take the attacks from both her opponents, figuring she'd have a better opportunity to strike while they were recovering. She warded off the knee strike with a grunt, the impact rocking her back as she used her oversized sword to block. The Jack-5 disappeared off her flank unexpectedly, however, and Yayama was quick to seize the opportunity this presented. Her weapon shifted forms once more, this time into a sinister-looking katana, and she darted forward beneath the incoming strike. The demonic steel scored a gash in the Jack-8's leg, creating the opportunity for her followup strike - this time with the normal form of her weapon - to send the metal behemoth tumbling to the ground.

"Thanks!" she called out once she had a moment to see why, exactly, her other adversary had stopped being an issue. A black-haired woman with a variety of bits of gear she couldn't begin to describe in this moment seemed to be responsible; she'd have to stop and give her a proper thank-you later after they exchanged names. For now, though, she had a mechanical monster to finish off. She wreathed her blade in roiling, dark aether, and brought the Edge of Darkness down on the Jack-8's torso. Then again, and once more, exhausting her mana pool to put as much damage down as she could while the bot was vulnerable.

Finally, transforming her weapon once more, she held it pointed straight downwards in katana form. With a shout, she plunged the tip of the blade into the Jack-8's eye, jamming it deep into the fighting robot's circuits until it stopped twitching. She put one boot on the side of its head, then yanked the blade free in a spray of mechanical bits and hydraulic fluids, then turned to survey the rest of the battlefield.

"This is getting a little hard to ignore."

The "parting" was a bit awkward; in hindsight, she had no idea what classes Michi and Tsubomi would be going to, with no realistically possible way she could have known without asking beforehand, so assuming they needed to go in different directions was probably foolish. When Michi stopped to grab a blonde student she didn't quite recognize, it provided a welcome distraction. . . but before she stopped to concern herself with the downtrodden-looking girl, there was another thing to address.

Namely the enormous gaggle of students following them.

She turned around, and awkwardly began. "Did you guys, um. . . need. . . something? I have no idea why you've been following us around."

"I won't make this easy for you." Yayama was faced with an issue she'd experienced many times before in her career - One that the actual Warrior of Darkness faced, anyway - in that physical size mattered in many respects, regardless of how muscle-dense the average Lalafell was (they had to keep up with the tall folk somehow) or how inhumanly strong she'd grown over countless trials. In this case, it meant just powering through the hijacking attempt wasn't feasible due to the differences in mass and leverage.

Instead, as soon as the Jack-8's intentions became clear, she jammed the controls sideways. The Chopper tried to hurl itself sideways, but its momentum still carried it forward. The vehicle rolled violently, something that would have been an issue for Yayama as much as her foe if the dark knight hadn't already come up with a plan. She leapt free of the vehicle just as it turned over, then just as quickly summoned her weapon - but this time, in the form of a scythe. It arced through the air toward the Jack-8, Yayama aiming to hook underneath a limb to pull herself back. If this worked, she'd either slow herself down and sever it at the same time, or arrest herself completely if it held on.

. . . It could also end up smashing her into the dirt even harder if the latter case happened, but Yayama could probably take the hit.

"I don't think she'll make a fuss. Like I said, it's mostly Suki I'm worried about, and maybe Roche. It involves the GEMs, is all." She figured that much was safe to mention; hearing it out of context, one would probably assume it was something in a video game or the like. "I doubt it'd be a problem if you came to club, though, Michi. You are a member, right? Or at least, you were thinking about joining."

At the suggestion of meeting up with Suki and Kiyo now, she shook her head. "I can't really afford to be late to class again, so I was going to head that way as soon as I could. Thanks for letting me know, though."

"I hope you know I have a physical need to apologize for everything."

Haruna recoiled as if bitten from Tsubomi's response, utterly unprepared for any level of snark from the girl. "U-uh, sorry," she said lamely, not even really parsing the second part of what she said. Who she was talking to set in just after that, and she blinked in no small amount of confusion. "Oh. You're, uh," Haruna paused midsentence as she narrowly avoided calling Tsubomi "the other one" or something else similarly dismissive of her position by mistake. "The original. Right?" She glanced at Michi, belatedly realizing the other girl probably had no idea what was going on. The light girl gave Tsubomi a questioning look, silently asking if they wanted to explain, before responding to the question.

"My morning's been pretty good until just now, actually. I, uh, got a call from a mutual acquaintance," she began, not wanting to necessarily get into full details right now. "It's relevant to club business. I don't think anyone's going to like it, least of all Suki."
"I suspect you're one of the only ones that feels that way. The average resident of the Coalition is a sentimental fool who is liable to care more about whether one has maintained their feelings properly than their equipment." She wasn't so ignorant as to think emotional state was unimportant to those who hadn't had such things suppressed by augments, nor so lacking in self-awareness as to not realize her own was more volatile than most, but the sentiment remained. "I have redundant methods of communication in place as well. Failing those, I should be able to break through most standard countermeasures using my own suit's equipment."

Something in her head clicked into place after a moment. "You're aware of my record?" she asked, tone switching from businesslike exasperation to almost fearful.

As the Jacks poured out of the APC, Yayama, who had been waiting in the wings, made her move. The engines of her Chopper roared as she revved them to full power, blasting forward into the wave of hostile automata just as the assault by the kids tapered off. She didn't bother with the cannons immediately, letting the bulky monowheel do the work it was quite obviously designed to do. After the initial speed from the boost wore off, she opened fire, blasting her way free of the formation to swerve around and repeat the process. This time, however, an aetheric shield shimmered into existence around the chopper, giving it some extra ability to absorb punishment now that she'd made her plans to be a nuisance to her foes known.

Yayama would repeat this process, trusting her Grit and the extra speed given to her by her vehicle to keep the focus off her allies while she dealt with the brunt of the enemy's counterattack, until the Jacks were too spread out - or too close to her allies - to make this approach practical, judiciously applying the occasional Jolt-Impact combo when she wasn't able to get the guns properly on target without slowing down too much in the midst of danger.

"Oh boy."

"Y-you don't have to lie, really," Haruna insisted. "You can tell them to assume I accepted until I or you tell them otherwise, alright? And I'll text you when I'm good for pancakes." After exchanging her own farewell with Saundra, and listening to the line go dead, Haruna sighed and slipped her phone back into her pockets. Suddenly, it seemed like her night of sleep wasn't that great, after all.

Or, you know, that one night of functional sleep wasn't actually enough to make up for the chronic sleep deprivation the light girl was stubbornly pretending didn't exist. She felt a small pang of. . . guilt? at the thought. Maybe I should listen to them more. Her new friends had told her to take it easy a few times by now. It was hard, though. Maeda Haruna had time for sleep, homework, track, and clubs, and Hizuki the Daybreak had time to watch over Hibusa and the Detention Club, but both of them were the same entity, trying to cram their activities into the same schedule. Something had to give.

Lost in thought as she was, she nearly collided with another student on her way into class. Haruna got most of the way into an apologetic bow before it clicked who she'd bumped into. Mainly because she hadn't been moving as if immersed in molasses. ". . . Tsubomi?"

The lalafell decided to make her own way to where the kids had stopped, figuring with a glance or two at them that they'd be occupied with bickering long enough for her to arrive before they finished, so long as she kept up a reasonable pace. Her prediction turned out to be spot-on, of course, though it did put her toward the tail end of the arrivals. One short introduction to the armory aboard the Avenger later, and she had her mount for the day, a futuristic, yet still brutish-looking monowheeled vehicle she'd heard called a Chopper. It certainly looked like it would chop apart the unfortunate soul to get into its path, especially before she was introduced to it having elements in its controls to let someone look past the titanic propulsion elements directly in front of the rider.

A few false starts later, she had the controls figured out. She was no ace pilot or master of beasts, but she'd had her fair share of experience directing either. Once she figured out that the main priority of whoever had designed this had been "go toward the enemy so you can hit them with your sword," Yayama had a good idea of how the vehicle would handle and how to avoid crunching up any unfortunate pedestrians under the hostile-looking wheel.

Without further ado, she tore off to the north, once again setting her own pace. It'd be a bit of a ride, and it was probably best that she arrived first anyways. . . plus it gave her some time to play around with this thing, an activity which most certainly did not result in her flipping it trying to get a long jump.
