Saerin Vitaya was in Cedarport because she had a job to do, and that was exactly her intention as she walked into the town. She knew she would not enjoy spending time with the nobility, but was anxious to move forwards anyway, if only to get it over with quickly. Besides, she'd lived poor for too long; it was time to make herself a fortune, rescue her family, then live the rest of her life in a well-measured balance of peace and adventure. Waiting around would only slow the process of dream becoming a reality.

Still, how reasonable this dream was was up to debate. Darhin Trex was obsessive, he wouldn't stop looking for her. Saerin couldn't settle down until he was either dead or otherwise without the means to track her. Even now she was watching for anyone suspicious.

Anyway, Saerin's progress to Castle Esperglow was delayed suddenly by a commotion in the streets. A crowd of drunkards, by the looks of things, and a fight in the middle of the road. She'd always found drunk people and even just the concept of excessive drinking annoying - it made people even louder and more invasive than normal, alongside removing all concept of knowing when to give up. This was something she'd been on the recieving end of more than once, being fairly pretty by most men's standards and travelling alone. Not that she didn't drink herself - she had always preferred hard spirits - it was just that she didn't bother anyone else when she did it, as long as they didn't ask for it.

The noise was obnoxious, the whole event was, but this was a new town to Saerin, and she didn't know any other ways to get the castle, so she just decided to walk straight through. Head down, walking quickly, trying not to draw attention to herself in order to save herself from the disaster that would inevitably come from any interaction with these half-wits. But then, she heard something that came so close to pushing her over the edge, that she just had to say something. Calmly.

"And more importantly, why does he look strangely similar to the incredibly large woman we were all trying to woo last night?"

Say something. Calmly.

"Oh I don't know, you imbecilic fuck, that must be her brother!"

Saerin said. Calmly.

It was as she turning to face the speaker, a dark-haired, finely-clothed man, that she regarded his companions, who by association she also developed an immediate dislike for.
Still not working for me.

Edit: Also, IC you said northeastern, OOC you said northwestern. Which is it?
@pops I'll do my best to provide, but don't forget I'm playing an emotionally scarred, chaotic neutral warrior who drains her own blood to improve how badly she hurts people and in a few levels will be drinking home-made potions with various side effects.

Reid Farmhouse - Under the Barn

Paige was glad to have gone forward into the cave as enthusiastically as she had done, because now all the craziness was happening behind her, and a bit of a headstart was definitely welcome. She didn't especially care about what was going on above them - she wasn't discompassionate towards the others, she just knew that there was nothing she could do to help or hinder them right now, so worrying was pointless - so she just kept moving forwards as quickly as she could. Which, it was worth adding, was not very quickly at all.

For the second time today Paige found herself running away from danger. Running, and not keeping up, watching Hagan and Lynette and the others gradually get further and further away. Running, and being a liability who was, at best, going to get herself killed, and at worst, was going get everyone else killed as well. Running, and hating herself for being the way she was.

On a less dramatic note, though, Paige was genuinely struggling. More and more insects were slipping through the gaps behind her, and those that were already through were gaining far too quickly. Paige wanted to call for help, wanted to alert the others ahead of her that she couldn't do this, but to do that would be to put them in danger, as well. How could she ask someone to put their life at risk so that she might keep hers? How would she live with herself if they died and she didn't?

Paige wanted to turn and fight, but she couldn't. Nobody could fight a swarm of insects; to try would be a death sentence. Paige just kept limping forwards and hoped for a miracle.
@manapool1 Only Nodrick and Eldon know each other, so while they might travel together, I wouldn't expect either Saerin or Belgrax to be.
@Link From what I've seen of Unearthed Arcana, it's mostly just alternative subraces and subclasses. While more choices can certainly be more fun, it's definitely not necessary; in all my time playing, I've never used it.
@rush99999 Eldritch Blast only gets one beam for now. I know it's cool, just wait until 5th level.
Likewise, if anyone wants their character to have had a relationship with Saerin, just say the word.
