Public Service Announcement: When you DM someone for an RP, show interest beyond just a hello and an offer. Offer what interested you, and perhaps something to work with beyond just stating interest.

I'm a generally chill gomboblin that can be kinda particular. I grew up with plenty of electronics and video games, mostly with games like Final Fantasy, Zelda, and StarCraft. Lots of Nintendo. Dark Cloud is pretty sick. That's a lot of variety, and I do like to play a lot of different games. I like to blend magic and technology in my writing, bringing fantasy into space and sci-fi.
Magic in space is something that I find isn't done very much. Airships and spaceships could make for some cool centerpieces. Skies of Arcadia did a fantastic job of this. Perhaps that's not in space, exactly, but it's pretty close. Some of those ships may as well be space ships.

Trin had been facing the Palace. She'd only seen it once before, after which she made it a point not to venture near the capital. It took the roar of a legion to shake her from her daze, and she turned to face the landing creature. Sensing the tension in the air, Trin quietly moved in and clung to Karn's arm. She was trembling...
But that stopped with EL-Sasha's display. She watched the creature made of ice floating in the air with awe. She whispered softly, more to herself, "That's... magic...?" She then nuzzled softly against Karn's shoulder before taking a step toward the palace. "Let's go."

Yeah, Valkyria chronicles is rad, too. Welkin's a great character. The second one is kind of a story flop, though.
Symphonia was pretty dope. Vesperia wins mine for fully functional multiplayer. Symphonia's battle camera didn't change behvaior at all.

Who needs the canon plot if you can just make up your own? I feel you should borrow as little as you can, and make something that's more your own than someone else's.
Nah, I think that's silly. I mean, why? I mean, if someone wanted to bring in a canon character on their own, I suppose I'd be okay with that. If someone made Maka and Spirit in a Soul Eater thing and seemed like they'd do a good job of it, I'd let 'em, but they wouldn't have any special role based on being a canon character.
Eeehg. I dunno about Halo. It tends to get, I unno... too military and realism?
SWOTR... oh, Star Wars. I mean, yeah. But, not my preferred flavor of space. I'm a little picky, I guess. Somethin' more like, uuuh... Sins of a Solar Empire or, uuuh... X: Rebirth?
I dunno. I dislike canon in RP anyway, so I usually just grab a universe and play with it. Balls to your silly canon characters.
But sometimes you can't get around it, like Lord Death in Soul Eater.
