Personality: Evie is fairly easygoing and unflappable.
Intrigue: Evie is a true renaissance woman. While she is primarily an engineer and has a varied educational background including specialities in history and science. In her free time when she’s not taking classes (for fun) or working as a mechanic, she’s often practicing Muay Thai.
Description: Evie in her early 30s and is tall and slender with long blonde wavy hair and blue eyes.
Motivation: Evie is always up for an adventure or an opportunity to learn something new. She’s down for anything that seems unusual or like it will be a new experience.
Character Ideal: A jack of all trades/skill monkey type character. The go to person for any problem.
Character Sacrilege: Having her intelligence/skills be totally irrelevant or permanently disabled. While it would be possible to cope with a temporary loss, a permanent mental handicap would ruin it.

I do the same thing! During down time at work I tend to lurk around here but I have less time at home and on weekends. My preferred style is posting board with the occasional chat based live RP which is then posted. That way it's more of a special treat when we have time, but not a requirement (which would make me unable to play with the group).

@TheUnknowable This idea sounds great! I've always liked the idea of traditional fantasy races in the modern world. Your setting sounds very interesting, almost like Shadowrun. Love it!

@6slyboy6 I think we're all just lucky that dice are relatively inexpensive.

My Answers

1. For SciFi my faves are the Star Trek universe and the Mass Effect universe, 100%. For fantasy, I'd say the Pathfinder universe and the world from Jim Butcher's Codex Alera series.

2. 100 duck sized horses. Even if they decided to get bitey I feel like they couldn't do much damage. Besides, you could probably just kick them out of the way or something. A horse sized duck would just be terrifying.

3. I'm a big fan of Rogues and I played a Magus once that was pretty much BAMF.

4. I've probably given this WAY too much thought, but I'm hoping you guys won't judge me too much. The super power I would want is the ability to switch between, and acquire the skills to thrive in fictional universes. So if I jumped to the Star Trek universe I'd understand the politics and have the skills to get a job and be somewhat successful. If I were in the Pathfinder universe I'd have a class and some applicable skills.

@Polybius Personally I find dice rolls cumbersome online. I mean, don't get me wrong I have a healthy pile o'dice at home that I use regularly and it's a constant battle not to buy ALL THE DICE! That said, I have never found my groove using dice rolls online. I'm not necessarily opposed to learning, I just feel like it makes it a little harder to get into the storytelling.

Name: Violet [Last name unknown]

Appearance: Violet is tall with shoulder length blonde hair and blue eyes. She has a powerful build and a friendly smile.

Mutant Name: Volt

Power: (with description and limits explained) Volt is able to draw electrical energy from nearly any source and redirect it, the lower the energy source, the weaker the output. She can pull a very weak output from the electrons in the air or in her own body but it drains her (and could potentially kill her). She's most comfortable drawing from normal sources like powerlines or the like. She gathers the electricity and then sends it out in a lightning bolt-like attack. She can (with incredible concentration) regulate the output so she can power machinery or even regulate the amount of volts she's throwing at a person.

Skills: Violet was an EMT and then later an ER nurse so she has some longtime medical knowledge as well as general life experiences.

Personality: Violet is fairly easygoing and quick to help. The discrimination for being a mutant hurts her more than angers her and she rails against the injustice.

Bio: Violet's mutation was easily kept under wraps growing up, and wasn't something she took much time learning how to use, so much as to hide it. She started learning to hone her powers once she became an EMT and needed a defibrillator but didn't have one. She realized that this was a place where her powers could literally allow her to save lives.

Violet started practicing her skills, honing them so she could be more precise if she needed to though it was still difficult. When she was 22 she went back to school and became a nurse, securing a job in the ER where she continued to work to save lives. She was able to keep a low profile for nearly a decade until there was a massive power outage and she used her powers to keep a life support machine powered on to save the patient. She was turned in and at 32 her life fell apart when she was sent to the camps.
