Look at you posers, having to bang dragons or sell your soul for magic when you could just play a lute for some. Anyways, here's Wonderwall. - Bards
"Red like roses brings me back to the place I rest..." Alec stretched his back and whiffed in the forest scent. Even after a week, it still felt completely unreal. The world of Elder Tale just felt so... alive. Alec would never known the difference, the birds chirrped as cheerfully as they did in the forests of Germany, the highlands were as beautiful and open as Scotland, and towns as pretty (and crowded more often than not) as France.
Of course, sights and smells weren't enough to keep people all too thrilled about being stuck in a video game. There was absolutely nothing to do, PKing had lost its luster a few days ago even if there were some trying to squeeze the fruit for all its juice. NPC quests were largely ignored as people just needed a few coins to feed and bed themselves for a day. Whatever living it was, it sure didn't feel alive.
"Alright you spindly bastard, time to head back. I've had my fun here." Alec jumped up onto the back of his spider mount and marched back to <Seven Hills>. The path back was empty, what few souls ventured on the road were turned back by the boy and his giant spider. It was scary, it smelled a bit sometimes and it was a bitch in a half to control, but at least it kept the PKers away. Giant spiders tend to make people not want to approach you it seems.
Passing through the gates, his mount parted the crowd with ease, not everyday you see a spider strolling down the street. Taking note of the large crowd around the message board.
"Time for you to leave old friend." And with that, Alec released his mount with a blow of its frozen whistle and headed over the board. Whole bunch of stupid , boring jobs and one that was going to get him killed. Letting his breath fall short with mild disappointment, he raised his chins and yelled, "Anyone need potions and/or a dodge tank paladin for the dungeon raid?!"
NAME: Edo "Gunrunner" Talvarin AGE: 29 Gender: Male HEIGHT: 6 ft 3 in WEIGHT: 146 lb EYES: Emerald Green HAIR: Creamy Coffee Brown SKIN: Warm Beige FORCE SENSITIVE: No
STRENGTHS:
Reflexive Piloting - Edo, like many Corellians, is a great pilots, able to out maneuver and out run most obstacles. A seasoned smuggler, Edo has outrun space worms and fighters and most things in between during his little adventures across the galaxy.
Engineering Genius - Also due to his Corellian blood, Edo is a crafty and handy bastard like all smugglers. His ship is appropriately modified for his line of work and the blaster pistol he uses is his own creation.
Gunrunner - After having spent much of his early live working as a courier for underworld gangs, Edo can dash across surfaces and objects as if he could use the force, that said someone who does use the force could easily outrun him.
WEAKNESSES:
Infamous - Unfortunately, Edo has met many unsavory character and some of them are just pure salty. Although he has no bounties on his head by cartels and the like, its best for him not to make much of show of himself in public areas.
Hallucinogenic - For unknown reasons, most likely due to his clost proximity to spices and other drugs, Edo occasionally either starts hallucinating or having vision. These can range from something comical like him having a debate about politics with a street lamp, to thinking he's being attacked or that the route is clear even though he's in an astroid field.
Distrustful - Outside of people he knows personally, Edo doesn't trust strangers or others. Although loyal to friends he already knows, gaining that trust is difficult to say the least.
APPEARANCE: Edo is a tall and devilishly handsome man by his own words. His face is round with his messy hair brushed over to his right side. Think standard prince charming smuggler looks and you're half way to Edo.
Posessions:
Datapad
His blaster pistol "Sundance"
A combination of several different blaster parts with a custom grip all housed in a nice cubical piece of sheet metal. Accurate, concealable and durable, a reliable weapon for a smuggler.
Rebreather & Mask
500 credits
His ship, Pride's End
Twi'lik slave/copilot
SHIP: Pride's End
Officially a VSR-96b made by Corellian Engineering Corp, Pride's End has been modified for smuggling by Edo. The floors had compartments for hiding goods and there are several false walls that are actually doors. The engines and hyperdrive have been refitted for more efficient versions with personal touches from Edo. For defense, the Pride's End uses six missile pods with cluster missiles, a dual medium laser gun in the front and another dual medium laser turret in the back.
BIOGRAPHY: Orphaned at childhood after his Corellian smuggler parents were killed in a deal gone wrong, Edo was left to face the streets of the lower levels of Nar Shaddaa, a dystopian world by every stretch of the imagination. Poverty more common than air, violence more common than clean water and food, to say life was hard on Nar Shaddaa is a great understatement. Hell, even if there was none of that, the political scene on the planet was a mess; it was impossible to tell the difference between a politician and a criminal. Many people of all ages and races flocked to the local criminal syndicates and gangs, at least they had something of a future. Edo and other children were no exception. Even if gutter running was hard and destitute, it sure beat getting scammed and exploited by people on the street which had already scarred young Edo on a physiological level.
First having joined with the Moonblade Gang, Edo was a gutter runner, a glorified delivery boy who ran packages through gang wars and dark alleys. For nearly a decade, until Edo was 14, he had run through just about every corner of Nar Shaddaa both increasing his speed and the value of his packages. Due to the way his assignments lined up, he ended up transporting enough weapons to fill an armory, giving him the alias of "Gunrunner". Although it wasn't a glorious job, and often down right dangerous, Edo's pay and respect grew within the ranks.
This was all fine and dandy until the Hutt Cartel decided to move into the area and came a-calling. Like many of the other gangs, the Moonblades where cut down by the superior troops and mercenaries of the Hutts wiped the floor with whatever resistance the Moonblades could offer. It was in this confusion and chaos that one Edo stole an unoccupied shuttle from the Hutts to try and escape. Despite never having touched the controls of a spacecraft before, his Corellian blood seemed to allow him to seamlessly pilot the craft as it he had been born in it. After giving an hour long chase to the rest of the speeders and shuttles of the Hutt Cartel, they finally caught him, talent was no match for training and experience.
Brought before the leading Hutt of the operation, Zundoro, Edo believed that either he was going to be sold into slavery or killed on the spot. However, to his surprise, Zundoro was impressed at how a young child could outrun his pilots for so long and offered him an opportunity, an offer of becoming a smuggler for him. Edo accepted the offer, half out of fear and panic, half out of hope that maybe he'd get something better than a gutter runner. And better it was.
By the time Edo had 18 years under his belt, he was already one of Zundoro the Hutt's most reliable smugglers, having risen to the level of the pilots who taught him how to fly. And when Edo completed a particularly lucrative contract of spices for his boss, he used some of the money to go by his own ship after asking Zundoro for some extra to help cover the cost as he couldn't pay for the entire thing. And thus, the Pride's End came into Edo's life, of course he needed a copilot for it. Unfortunately he could only find an astromech droid to fill the job, R7-A1. Although not particularly amazing at his job, R7 fulfilled his purpose and was a suitable companion for Edo. After another five years and a number of close calls, Edo had picked up legal trading as both personal side profits and to help cover up his more illicit goods.
And then, he met Ural'fone, a Twi'lek slave girl who had been in a group of slaves Edo was supposed to deliver to a seedy man who dealt in spice production. Immediately having taken a liking to her, Edo bargained with the man and bought the girl for no small sum of credits. Looking back now, Edo didn't know why he took Ural'fone under his arm, officially, she was his slave but it never really felt like that sort of relationship. Perhaps since he saw a co-pilot in her, perhaps he wanted to use her in shadier ways, perhaps he just wanted someone else to talk to besides a droid (R7 was never a good conversationalist). At any rate, Edo taught the Twi'lek the same things he was when he was young and just starting to pilot and eventually, she got good at it so much to the point that R7 was no longer needed. After parting ways with the old droid, he and Ural'fone set course for Coruscant with a load of weapons; only for the Gunrunner to be caught, his prized ship impounded and his co-pilot jailed.
@Subject Zero Nothing too secret that needs a PM. Its something like Epik was the droid that Edo first picked up instead of R7, basically taking his place but continued to stay on the ship after Edo bought Ural'fone.
The idea from here was that Edo had been caught by some people with bad blood between them and Edo showed up as Republic ships closed in on him fast, forcing Edo to throw off his illicit wares to jump to another system and pretend to be a legit civilian merchant with the legal goods he also had on board. Trusting Ural with the piloting, Edo had Epik assist him in dumping off the spices. However, in combination of him hallucinating and taking fire, Edo accidentally threw Epik off thinking he was another spice container.
After that, I'm not really sure what would happen to Epik, I guess its your choice.
@Subject Zero If you wish I can replace R7 with Epik or have Epik be part of a shipment of live droids he was smuggling or something. If you wish to work for Edo I'm also up for that too.
@Shard Considering both Edo and Sky are from Nar Shaddaa, would it be too much of a stretch they were friends or at least acquaintances? News of an elite, deadly bounty hunter and reliable, skilled smuggler, both orphaned from youth, would pass around many a mouths and ears I would think.
