In the brief moment she had turned to wave to the short, bald man, the weird girl attempted to steal the crystal while claiming it was dangerous. Just who did she think she was fooling? Beryl pulled her hand back quickly and for a split second, an expression of anger flashed across her face before she regained composure. "The only danger one could be in from possessing this crystal is if they steal it, as that would reverse the effects." The response came quickly and easily as she had came up with a whole list of rules on how her crystals work, or at least how she claims they work.

It was then that the goliath of a woman stomped into the room, the heavy thumps of her massive feet announcing her presence. Beryl hadn't seen her enter the room, which just raised questions for her as she MUST have been too tall to walk in normally as at the very least her hair would catch on the door frame. Before she could snap herself out of this stunned state, the ogress begun to spray something in everyone's direction before berating them all. The strange girl next to her seemed as if she was trying to hide her agitation over the giant's words, but it all felt so familiar, but she couldn't tell what it was. Even stranger yet, it felt as if she had to respond to the monstrous woman in kind.

"You, undignified oaf, would do well to remember that provoking a witch is most unwise." She stepped past the strange girl next to her and pocketed her crystal before she could snatch it from her. "While I aim to help rather than hurt, I can't allow such hatefulness go unpunished, and my blessings can easily be reversed into curses if I so wish." Beryl's legs, seemingly under the control of someone other than her, then took her towards the so called princess. While it was embarrassing to have to look straight up to her face, Beryl didn't let it show. "You should show respect to your future foes, it might just make your impending defeat less embarrassing for you." She then punctuated this with a kind smile as she waited for Sheeban's response, but also tried to figure out why this felt so right for her. Just what was it that made this seem natural for her?

Even stranger yet, another fighter entered the room. A pterodactyl wearing clothes, and while this should have gotten Beryl's attention, he went mostly unnoticed. Beryl was in a different world now, one that wasn't entirely new to her, and she had no time for outside distractions.

While she was admiring her crystal, a strange girl approached and asked about it. Perfect. "Oh, this? Why it's a fortune crystal, you've never seen one before? How odd." Beryl lowered the crystal and looked through it at the girl. "I can't imagine how you lived this long without one, but it must have been difficult. Perhaps..." Lowering the crystal, she then rubbed her chin with her other hand. "Maybe I could sell you this one. But, they are pretty rare so... Well, I'll be honest with you, some people consider them to be a little on the expensive side, but I can assure you the power they hold makes it worth every zeni." Just because she planned on winning the tournament, doesn't mean she can't make some extra money on the side. "What do you think?"

While this was happening, the third fighter showed up and simply waved before sitting in the corner. This was the exact opposite of what she wanted. Here he comes, walking right past two girls and not showing off before the fights started? What the hell was wrong with him? "Hello there, why don't you come join us? The company will make time pass faster for you." He didn't seem like the type to buy a crystal, but maybe she could get something about his ability out of him. "Come on, don't be shy. We wont bite."

Having registered as soon as it opened, Beryl was now waiting for the others to show up. Despite the fact she wasn't a fighter, she had some confidence in her ability to win because for what she lacked in martial prowess, she made up for in willingness to cheat at every opportunity. She already had it all planned out, if the method for choosing match ups allowed for it, she would pair herself up with the weakest looking fighter while matching up the strongest against each other. Of course, she'd try to interfere as much as possible in their fights as well, hopefully weakening them to make her win over them even easier. Then the ten million zeni would allow her to live her dream life. A huge mansion in the city, more cars than she could ever find the time to drive, plenty of household staff to do every little thing she asks, and of course a giant pool to lounge around. What a wonderful life...

But realizing her mistake, she quickly snapped out of it and focused on the area around her. She needed to pay attention, surely some musclebound idiots would soon arrive and start showing off to each other. That was all they ever did, this tournament itself is just a way for useless bums to show off after all. Martial artists have no use in the modern world but they have fragile egos that need to be constantly propped up with stupid things like this.

In an attempt to act natural, Beryl reached into a pouch and pulled out a few hokey crystals. It was amazing how much people would pay for these things, just as long as you make up all sorts of benefits to having them. She then held a dark green one up to the light and looked at it before sighing. She was losing focus again, but she could hardly be blamed for it, no one else had showed up yet. "Maybe I'll win by default."
@Holy Soldier
I get that, but what I'm asking is if I'll be able to manipulate the lots like Chiaotzu did in Dragon Ball.
@Holy Soldier
I have a question, will pairings be decided right away? My character may or may not want to use her TK to manipulate the match ups.
@Holy Soldier
Thanks!

@Weird Tales
Just go with something fun and thematic, what kind of stuff do you enjoy?
@Holy Soldier
Well the main weaknesses are she needs mutual eye contact and needs the target to hear her, so it can be resisted by just not looking at her face. I honestly didn't think about the duration since hitting someone or even trying to roll them off the stage would be enough to wake them up.

For the TK, let's go with about 200 pounds for lifting and using it to hold something in place requires dedicated focus, assuming they try to resist.

Finally, she buys the capsules with her hard earned scam money.
@Weird Tales
They're aliens with incredibly advanced tech, the later stories make that clear.
@Weird Tales
Well that's not really Lovecraftian at all then! Crazy super science "wizard" could be pretty fun too.

@Holy Soldier
Alright, let me know what you think.
