I'm done with the CS! I guess... Just let me know if there are some issues with it.
@sakurasan@DrewVonAwesome@Polyphemus@Jake@DeathXtheXTree@Lauder@Conflux

Just confirming if you all still intend on making characters just so I know when to start the IC.

Still here! and almost done with my CS.
going to work on a character once I get more sleep
Count me in as well. Been waiting for RPs like these to pop up.
Awesome. I'll probably have the first post at a later time.

Who I am...

"I sometimes believe that happiness is not needed. People often chase after it, dream of it or even trade their lives over something they can only grasp on temporarily, and in the end, what's the point of it all? Do you think that by attaining happiness, you've obtained something that can save you from all of the meaningless things we're trying hold on? You don't even know what your true purpose in life is and yet you pretend it's the cure for something you can't even understand. I'm not buying this bullshit, none of the things we hear nor learn provide any significant meaning. People always say to be happy, but that's just them telling us what to do, what to feel. There's nothing to be happy about, we live in a world with so little meaning and a purpose we absolutely have no idea of. We're slaves to this illusion, to this so-called emotion that makes us appreciate the emptiness living inside us."

"I don't care if my life is spiraling down to obscurity. I admit that it's my fault; all of these are the products of my foolishness. I'm still young, I know, but I'm not as young as to believe that life's full of hope. At least...not anymore. I realized that when you dream something big, all of it will be lost once you wake up. Setting goals are just the same, the only difference is that goals let you waste time to believe into something that will only fade away once you begin to notice that none of it is real. I'm not frustrated enough, or at least not yet since I can still afford to breathe air into every useless thing I can see. Reality forces me to do labour for its own well-being, but I guess I have no choice. Beer's not cheap and it's always freezing outside, so homelessness won't be an option for me."

"I work as a waiter. I've dropped out of college a year ago. Money was cut short and I couldn't get a scholarship since laziness and my smoking habit were both growing on me. Honestly, I'm relieved I got out of that shit hole. They have a funny way of defining education, and I pity those who remain in that forsaken place, forced to understand something that they don't need in their lives. Who am I kidding though, they won't ever understand anything about their lives. The world is just a loop that we kept on circling and circling until we find something meaningful, but instead we find the opposite of it. I am certain that I won't be living long, or at least long enough until everyone realizes they're living in an illusion. If that day ever comes, I'd die to have a look on their faces."

@Uncanny

Feel free to make a CS ahead of me, I'll make mine once after I figure out how I'll come up with a starting post. XD

EDIT: So I've finally managed to come up with a character but not yet with a post. Anyway, that can wait. ;)

Who I am...

This is basically anything you'd like to write for your character's description. Be it personality, appearance, a brief background story, her life quotes, personal philosophies or a mixture of all, it's up to you. Show how she's a living, breathing, dimensional character. Feel free to use first person if you like, as long as your character is describing herself.

Note: Make sure to remove the dots "." on the hr code

Once an abandoned residential house, it is now under the ownership of former actor Joseph Haldox after buying its entire property and naming it The Nightmare Manor, building the place as one of the most popular haunted house attractions. It's known to be open for only about 2 months, starting from the 31st of October and closes at the end of November. Ever since its grand opening on October 2010, a large number of patrons - either horror enthusiasts or not - often visit the place, with an astounding number of seven thousand people waiting in-line and reservation slots being full on the first night of its yearly openings. Throughout the years, The Nightmare manor stood up for its positive reviews, given that patrons themselves admit how thrilling and terrifying their experiences were inside the place. Up until now, business is still going strong but their prices are starting to increase, which is a bit of an unwise decision as stated by interested customers.

Howdy!

To be honest, I'm bad at giving introductions as I am generally an awkward person both irl and at the interwebs. My conversational pattern often gets randomly connected and is prone to not make a single sense no matter how many times you try to comprehend it. Nevertheless, I'm an overall friendly person even if our views about society differ from one another or even if you're a cat person. I will try my best to clearly specify my RP preferences here and also the variety of plots that I am mostly interested on.

So without further ado let's get started...

stuffs & thangs.

What I prefer to be called: Conflux, Con, Lux, Connie are the ones I'm comfortable with. Otherwise, if you want a real name, you may call me Mark, and it's up to you to assume whether or not that's my real name. Either way, it won't matter. :P
Age: I'm in my early 20s, specifically 23.
Gender: Male
About Myself: I'm an eccentric human being who mostly finds comfort from being alone, though ironically, the characters I usually create are extroverts and socialites with a small mixture of broody loners. I just graduated last year and am temporarily working at a financial institution as of now. My job is indeed stressful but the amount of money I receive on a monthly basis is enough to put a smile on my face. Apart from playing video games, watching TV series/movies and roleplaying, I sometimes do painting as a method of relieving stress or just to lift myself up from boredom and put my creative juices to good use. At times, I visit bookstores to fill in my reading needs or just take a walk outside with my lovely dog. On certain occassions, I do hardcore drugs

I've been through a one-year RP hiatus only recently due to my job and how it absorbed a large sum of my time. My schedules have only calmed on a slight amount but I now have the time I need to roleplay. It's still quite limited though but not like before where I really don't have any time to spare. I value my RP partners to the point where I make it an obligation to inform them of my current real life situations. So whether I'm at my busiest peak at work or just plainly lost the motivation to continue, I'll make sure to let you know so that your time won't be affected by my actions.

More stuffs & thangs.

How long have I been roleplaying? About 4-6 years for all I can remember.
Free/Casual/Advanced? What are my standards? I really don't think I'm in the right position to distinguish that for myself as what I discern about setting standards is that they can be a bit subjective at times. I let content speak for themselves and allow them to judge their pertinence towards a particular subject matter. Sure, one liners are dreadful but I forbade myself to tell others of how and what they should write. It's like adding a question about quantum physics to a personality survey.

I also ignore these three categories. They don't mean anything to me, especially when differentiating "causal" and "advanced" as you see a three-paragraph post of the exact same thing with minor vocabulary differences. If role-plays are to be divided, then it should be labeled in the way of commitment. No one cares if your writing levels an English professor's as long as you're able to provide consistency with the participation you've given to the RP. Of course proper grammar and spelling are to be administered, but that's common sense to an activity that involves writing and they don't need to be mentioned over and over again.
How often do I post a day? Depends on how I can manage my time. If I can't post on a particular day, I'd usually just leave a message to my partners.
Third or first person? Third, but I did try first person before. I must honestly say that I wasn't entirely comfortable on using that approach.
Genres I usually go with: Fandoms aside, it's any specific genre. However though, I really have an unquenchable set of cravings when it comes to Crime, Horror and Modern Fantasy.
Ratings I'm comfortable with: Anything, as long as we can discuss how sexy/violent things are going to get before writing anything excessive.
Characters I usually play: As stated recently, my characters are often extroverted and high-spirited socialites if not broody and rebellious loners. I normally play males since I'm a male myself but I do have some fair share of experiences playing female characters. I'm open to fill in that role if needed be.

Plots and ideas!

Yes of course, this is what you're here for.
I bet you skipped the information above and
directly went straight to this one.
Don't deny it, I know what you're doing. I'm watching you.

All of the things listed here are mostly fleshed out from my cravings. That being said, feel free to suggest your own but I cannot guarantee that I will consider all of them, given that I'm not able to easily adapt the settings/plots I'm largely unfamiliar of. Examples of which are fandoms. Though I sometimes expand my interest to that particular genre, I'm really not into it for the most part as I prefer exploring through original ideas. Still, it doesn't mean that you're not allowed to give in fandom ideas. Feel free to do so, but expect those to be declined as there's a big chance for me to say no, depending on how familiar I am with the fandom's setting/universe. Usually, I prefer Sherlock fandoms but I only do it rarely.

What you need to know

  • While I don't have any standards nor expectations to begin with, I ask that it would be better if my partners are aged 18 or older.
  • Please do understand that I have a stressful job that will keep me from posting everyday. You don't need to worry though, I always inform my partners about my current situation in real life and make sure to leave you a message on what's happening so that things won't be left hanging.
  • Please do shy away from one-liners. I know I've stated before that I don't fuss over post lengths, but do always remind yourself that quality should be on top of quantity.
  • I enjoy writing romance and while the majority of my usual involvement are hetero pairings, I'm always open for MXM/FXF but be reminded that I'm somewhat terrible when it comes to that. Also, if you're asking me to play female roles, chances are that I might decline. Still, I can play them when I want to, just don't expect me to be anywhere good in that particular role. :D
  • Also with regards to writing romance, I don't really do smut and it's quite likely that I'll say no to suggested ideas/plot involving any of that matter. However, I'm willing to try new things and I might do smut someday, just not now.
  • I'm always open to new ideas, opinions and feedbacks, so if there's a problem that you see, please tell me so that we can fix whatever's wrong right away. Also, I don't tolerate erratic/offensive/immature behaviour, so if you're being ignored by me, you'll probably get the idea.

And that's about it!
