Professor Glynn

Glynn's tall, trench-coat-wearing figure graces the hedge behind the headmaster, a little to the side from many of the other faculty. He preferred to be out of the direct line of sight of people,and in places where he could see everything...and the view from where he stood was certainly good. Ghosts, Elves, a fairy, a fire demon? It would be a fun year, if you liked that sort of thing. As long as they didn't try too serious of shenanigans in his classroom. Glynn wasn't a fan of putting out fires in his textbooks, or other such things.

Headmaster Wick's speech was pretty standard...couldn't expect it to be tailored or personalized every year without a hell of a lot more effort than me man was willing to put into it. Glynn might have considered it, but that would still require months of prior planning and preparation, much less actual speech writing. Best to go with the tried and true individual approach. Besides, you could get some useful information from a standardized event. He could tell pretty easily which ones were bored, actually interested, mildly intrigued, or merely respectfully aloof from the words the headmaster spread across their ears. Just as they were getting a feel for what to expect around here...mostly. It wasn't as if people were good at expecting Professor Viola when they first met her. But a little controlled chaos went a long way towards a positive learning environment, as long as it didn't get out of hand. A hopefully healthy conduit for younger mischief.

As the Headmaster's speech wound to a close and people started starting at the presence of their room assignments in their everywhere, Glynn allowed himself an even smirk. Even at this school of magic, people were so surprised that it was actually used effectively. Of course the Headmaster's use of it was a bit more advanced than most, but even still...it wasn't as if these were experienced magic users here who should be surprised that a mage...even of such high caliber...had managed it. Most of these kids didn't even have wards to block such things. Ah well...they'd get used to it. As most of them started to move off to their dorms and the professors...some of them...started to disperse off to their dorms and offices, Glynn slowly walked around the edges of the gathering along the wall of the adjacent building, adjusting his sunglasses around his pointed Elven ears and letting his black coat sway outwards in the breeze. His eyes traversed the group, picking out the ones who seemed interesting and marking them for observation in class.

And oh bother, Viola...already?

We would like you to define your mental control powers further, please.
My pardon for slowness, I intended to have the OOC up by now however a few days ago I obtained a game by name of Stellaris and have had hard times trying to pull myself away from it. I know it is a poor excuse, and I beg forgiveness for I know full well that I'll still be away for several days yet caught within the web of that game.

I fail to understand the poorness of this excuse...
But...the ground vanished...

Kael wasn't caught off guard by the transition, not as such...

He just had essentially no options. He maneuvers himself as best as he can to take the shot in the same spot he took the last one, that way the metal would spread the same distance and merely coat metal with more metal, instead of spreading to cover something vital. At least if that worked, he would have access to the solvent now. He memorizes its relative position to him in case it doesn't work...luckily he'd gotten some out of the bottle before.
@Terminal

Kael sees the twitch and starts a dodge to the side, stopping when he sees it wasn't a shot and prepping to dodge again. "You know, we probably would have just let you use it...what the hell is the Allineator, anyway? I'm still wondering that." Chances of survival...well, 100%, but dying of starvation or old age while encased in a statue wasn't his idea of surviving a battle. If the bolt hit him in the chest where the first one did, then it would probably spread the same amount, so it would be the best place to be hit if such is unavoidable. As for killing or neutralizing the knight...chances are slim, but he had some ideas on that...it might be futile, but still. If his enemy was willing to take Kael down despite everything, then Kael would be happy to respond in kind.
Dang...a two-year old interest thread that is still actively used and tapped by the creator? A novelty in and of itself...

Hmmm...and ooh, and an SAO one...

Could be interesting.
@Terminal

Kael took a single look at the solvent and metal and figured that it was useless to try and get at it, instead planting his feet in a manner that made him ready to dodge another crossbow bolt. There was minimal chance of his being able win win this...but that was still enough reason to try. "If you want this to end, return me to where I came from. Tell me how to return, give me a clue of what I was and am supposed to do! Otherwise, I'll fight against the end for as long as I'm alive. No matter how bad things get, the consequences of what could happen can't get enough worse than they are now for me to stop trying to make things better."
