His day had started early, Sam was on his usual delivery run for Tas at the hospital and stayed up all night afterwards. Sleeping wasn't a big deal as the man never really needed the rest. His days were long, but being able to be dependable for someone else always refreshed him, or at least that's what he told himself. By seven thirty Sam was already at The Seaside Creative Group offices, where he was interning as a member of their creative development team. His internship wasn't just coffee runs and dry cleaning pickups, he was also part of the team coming up with ideas for new ads and campaigns, something he wanted to do. It wasn't cooking, but it would do for now. His morning so far had consisted of a run to the coffee shop down the road and was now joining in on the daily morning meeting.

"What if we decrease the opacity of the logo in the background and swap it over to the left corner instead of the right?" Sam chimed in, hoping that his input would be taken into consideration. His voice wasn't often heard during the meetings but every once in awhile he had a good idea or comment, something that would catch the attention of the creative director.

"Could work actually." His boss agreed, giving him a nod of approval. "Good eye, it's a pretty easy fix. Can you edit it for us then, Sammy?"

"Sure thing, boss." Being acknowledged made this day even better, and it was just the beginning. Not to mention it was Nat's birthday and that meant a grand old party. "Oh... shit. Nat's birthday..." Sam quickly realized that he hadn't sent her a birthday call or text, something he would normally do for his group-wife. It wasn't for another thirty minutes before Sam made his way to his desk and hopped onto his phone, preparing a text.

"Maybe I can start off with a sorry or something." It wasn't that he had forgotten her birthday, it's that he was just too busy and he lost track of it. He silently thought to himself and bit his thumb, "Maybe... I can just text her later, play it cooler." But then a better idea popped into his head. If he couldn't say it himself in person the next best thing would be to have someone else say it in person for him. The relationship Nat and Sam had meant that she deserved something more than just a little text for a happy birthday, it had to be done in person, with her being his group-wife and all. "Tas!" He shouted to himself, she was most likely going to be the first one that Nat would be seeing as Dom was out of town again.

Sam is a very friendly and open guy. He can be outspoken and loud, but most of the time he is just wanting to make others feel welcomed. The young adult has a lot of growing to do, but he is always wanting and willing to do whatever he can to do just that. He likes to experience as much as he can and is often times found doing things he is really uncomfortable with but knows that the feeling will pass once you make it a routine or habit. Trying everything once is one of his mottos, as long as it doesn't kill you.

One of the defining traits that Sam has is that he is extremely stubborn. Once he thinks he is right there is no real way to make him change his mind. He knows that it is something he needs to change, but in due time it will come. With that he also hates admitting that he's wrong, and it is hard because he always believes he's right. One other major flaw about Sam is that he can't commit to a relationship. Becoming serious with another person in an intimate way is something that scares the hell out of Sam, but again it all comes with experience and growth, something he knows his mother wishes he gets soon.

History:
Sam was born in California, his parents had immigrated from South Korea to open a now very popular Korean barbecue and restaurant. Both his parents are professional chefs but now have taken a bigger managerial role within their restaurant. Growing up Sam was always expected to take over the family business in managing it. They groomed him in every aspect but the cooking and artistry of the restaurant. His parents wanted him to run the restaurant from the top of the chain, not the kitchen. Sam has an older sister, Rosie, who was given a different role and path in becoming a doctor. As a teenager Sam was always kept busy in sports and extracurricular activities, along with a job at the restaurant right after whatever he had planned. There was never a second to himself, which was hard as he didn't every really have time for anything else. During whatever time he could spare on his fifteen-minute breaks or weekends he wasn't working, Sam drew and painted. He found a way that he could output his creativity in, which was drawing and painting. He joined an art club in high school and began a bigger interest in the arts.

The time he spent at the restaurant was always in the office managing the payroll or accounting, not being able to learn how to cook. His time at home though was spent differently. He was able to learn how to cook by his parents at home, but those meals were more casual and nothing crazy. He knew he wanted to cook like his parents, but they expected something different from him. They didn't want him to spend his time in the back of a restaurant, bossing and ordering around a kitchen. They wanted him to manage the business as a whole. He graduated high school with top honors and went off to college. His parents argued that he needed to obtain some sort of business degree and Sam wasn't having it. He did mention becoming a chef, but again his parents brushed that idea out of the door. So the next best idea was to become an advertiser. It was something he could picture himself doing, being able to express his creativity through the arts of drawing, painting, and design instead of the culinary arts.

During his college years Sam kept up with his busy schedule, becoming highly involved within many clubs and organizations around campus and also picking up many internships. He also began taking up part-time jobs as a bus-boy or waiter. He eventually found himself as a line cook at a few hot spots and it wasn't until after he graduated that he found some more free time for himself. Now with a more lax schedule and experience of freedom away from his parents he has spent more time soul-searching. He currently has a job as an intern at a local advertising agency and also works as a part-time line cook at a newly popular restaurant. He dreams of becoming a chef, obviously with his parents having no idea as they would automatically disapprove of his choice. Not living too broken down under his parents thumb he has more time to himself.

Sam is currently trying his best to make life simple, but obviously when you try to make things easier for yourself, life likes to throw things into the bowl to make things interesting.

Feliks is always getting into trouble and it doesn't help that when Sam is with him the pair get into just as much, if not more, trouble. One of the motto's Sam has is to try everything at least once and Feliks likes to abuse it by coming up with the wildest things to do. There is never a dull moment when Sam joins Feliks on one of his extravagant adventures, never.

"He asks a lot of questions, sometimes too much."
Benji is always asking Sam questions, whether it be questions on cooking or about the Korean culture. They aren't annoying questions, plus Benji is always coming up with new ideas and things for Sam to try. Though there are times when Sam catches Benji just staring at him, that's a little weird, but Benji is honestly a cool guy otherwise. Sam likes to hang out with the guy whenever he has the time.

Bringing "lunch" to Tas is something Sam loves to do, especially after 1AM. He has become very close friends with her as they both grew up in a blink of an eye, plus with their busy, professional schedules as interns they always have something interesting to talk about from their day. Not to mention she is a regular at his parent's restaurant, and did he mention that she's beautiful? He may or may not have a crush, but that's all it is, a crush...

Both Sam and Connor have a great attraction to the ladies, that is where they find their deepest connection. Both great wingmen for one another, Sam doesn't really think much else of Connor. The two are friendly, with obvious room to grow a budding friendship. They have spent a lot of Saturday nights together.

Sam has found a fondness and deep respect for Dom. He listens and cares about the well-being of others, something Sam values a lot in a friend. Sam finds himself hanging out with Dom and just having a chill night, drinking and talking freely. One thing that Sam wants to do though, is to help Dom open up from his closed and withdrawn shell.

Sam has a respectful and loving relationship with Nat. They are pretty much two sides of the same coin in the sense that they act very similar. They are the same person, just in a boy and girl version. The two take care of the rest of the group by being the mom and dad. They care for the others in very parental and sometimes over-protective ways. Nat and Sam also share a close relationship with two others, Tas and Dom, which give them another strong connection.

There have been a few times Sam's invited Echo over to eat. She lives above him and the fumes of his cooking have probably floated above too many times, so he's owed her that. The two carry an interest in art, more specifically digital art. Sam being an intern at an advertising firm has helped Echo out with a few of her designs, but more so she's helped him out in his own designs and ideas. She's got talent but is a little shy to show it, Sam's got the voice and the mind, so he does his best to push her to open herself up artistically.

Didi spends a lot of time with Feliks and that means when Feliks drags Sam into one of his crazed schemes, they're together. Didi is good person, she's young, and possibly fragile like glass, but she's sweet. Sam has spent a few mornings on the beach just sitting with her fairly wordless. They have a fairly good relationship in the sense that they can just hangout without speaking, having a kinship with honestly just being there. Sam doesn't know too much about Didi, but likes to just sit with her.

Eva is someone Sam tries to watch out for. Out of the rest he probably keeps a careful eye out for her because shes still so young. He plays out his fatherly role very well for her and does whatever he can for her when she asks.
