Honey Lake Records was recently named one of the rising independent record labels that you should be looking out for. They were founded in 2008 and have been growing strongly in the past decade since. Founded by the trio of Chloe "Periwinkle" Prairie, Jesse King, and Oskar Andrea, together with over six decades under their belts they have come out with a few big players in the music industry. But Honey Lake Records hasn't forgotten their roots and have maintained a keen interest in discovering new artists, signing some of the best new artists of the past three years.

Their quest to find the diamonds in the rough continues to grow as they recently expanded to include a wide range of genres such as pop, soul/R&B, and hip-hop. Honey Lake still holds onto what brought them into the spotlight, making sure to highlighting indie-folk singers and songwriters too as one of their top priorities.

Located in Los Angeles, California, Honey Lake has gone through many ups and downs but have recently come into shape with their new two-story building, large enough to house their 10-man team of producers, sound engineers, songwriters, and many more, along with their artists in a hidden hole in the wall of LA.

Honey Lake does whatever they can to uphold their mission of creating, polishing, and sustaining talented artists in their musical adventure and career. But of course, not everything is perfect within the fluidity of the music business. Something that might be a hit now could wilt off the next day, and the image of artists and their actions are always under the watchful eye of people all over the world.

Hello and welcome to Honey Lake Records! This roleplay is designed for the freedom of customization on characters. You could be one of the artist within Honey Lake or you could also be one of the producers, sound engineers, etc.! The choice is yours!

The story will follow our characters as they progress though-out the year, from their tinder escapades, hook-ups with A-List celebrities, to writing songs about their exes, and even ordering pizza for the sixth time in a week! The core of this roleplay is to have our characters live and breathe, but also remember that they have something to strive and work towards and that is to achieve success with Honey Lake Records.

Each person has their own talents, whether it is singing, songwriting, playing an instrument, mixing music, or even discovering talent. Everyone at Honey Lake Records is important, you just have to remember that too.

• GENERAL — Follow the standard rules and regulations of the Guild. They can be found here.

• RESPECT — Please respect everyone and truly just be kind. We're all writers trying to have fun and grow their craft together, remember that. If I ever do anything to offend you or if you have a question, feel free to let me know or ask me. It's out of respect for the both of us that you do, sometimes things go over my head without realizing it. Don't hesitate to say something that doesn't make sense. I'm all for constructive criticism.

• POSTING & COMMITMENT — We're aiming for a casual roleplay, and in turn that means no one-liners. Also please consider the amount of effort the others in the roleplay put into their posts as you should read theirs before posting yours in case the posts don't align. This goes with respect as you should respect the other writers in their efforts as they should do to yours as well.

If you have any issues with the posting rate please let me know. I myself know that life can hit at any time, so just keeping us in the loop will help everyone and the flow of the roleplay keep steady! Goal is at least one post a week, I'm not a man of many wants, but this is what I should also strive for, but of course if you want and ask for more I can totally give too!

• COLLABORATIONS — I'm all for collaborating posts, so if you and another writer have something in mind then go for it. I know for you shippers this is a fun thing to do.

• MATURE THEMES (+18) — Drugs, alcohol, and other mature themes are more or less a thing in this roleplay, if necessary in the overall scene. Think of it as a PG-13 movie, it doesn't go into super detail, just touches on whatever is needed.

• CHARACTERS — Use the sheet provided if you'd like, otherwise you can of course always create your own. Approval of characters will be given, makes it so I can understand who is all going to fit in with everyone. We're looking for a unique and collaborative effort and with that comes variety. Also color coding is important, use text colors. I like using this to find colors.

He believes in hard-work and dedication and expects that of those around him. As one of the founders of Honey Lake Records, he isn't scared to do what is necessary to keep his family above water. Being at the right place at the right time was always something that Jesse had a knack for. Being lucky was about sixty percent of the reason as to why he got to where he was today, the other forty percent being of his own hard work in starting from the bottom of the barrel and working his way up the ladder. Never being a man to feel sorry, Jesse is extremely unapologetic. Most of the time he believes that he is right and can be a bit of a hothead because of that. He often butts heads with the other two founders, but the three have overcome a lot in their careers together so they do what they can to stick by each other, even if Jesse can be an ass to them. Which is how Jesse dreamed of making it big in the entertainment industry. Graduating high school, the budding visionary moved to Los Angeles where he busted around the city, making friends and making contacts with whoever he could. One lucky day, he was invited to a party that changed his life, making friends with a young Italian by the name of Oskar Andrea. The two were the same age and had the same dreams of making a splash in the entertainment industry, Oskar doing whatever he could to succeed with his music, and Jesse with trying anything to get his foot into the door. The two teamed up as Jesse offered to become Oskar's manager in hopes to help get him into the scene. From there on, the two hustled their way into party after party, and studio after studio until they met the missing piece of their trifecta. Her name was Periwinkle and she was a young pop singer with an ear for production that the two were missing. The three fledglings came out arms swinging as they created a summer hit that landed them into a deal with Sony Records. The sweetness ended there though, when after six years with the label they were dropped as their sales plummeted. Still wanting to make a name for himself and for his friends, Jesse conjured up the bright idea to start their own label to be able to have the creative freedom of how they wanted their music to sound and how they wanted to be seen. With no one else but each other, Jesse convinced his two friends that they could make it, as long as they believed in him, he knew that he could take them all to new heights. And that is where they are today, a decade with Honey Lake Records, they are finally getting the recognition they deserve.
