KaMara couldn't say she was entirely let down by the false call to arms but she knew this beleaguered outpost had already experienced far too much war fatigue. The schism forming between Ryota and Rextelian being both a symptom and just the tip of the iceberg as far as the strain Nan Gau was under.
"Yessir, " KaMara piped up, all business-like, " We're going to need a good deal of intel on the village you want us to liberate as well as the area around it. A good rundown on what kinds of undead your forces have encountered so far and what the Iceknife can do besides be a family heirloom. Also, some of us could use any spare armor or cold weather gear you can afford to loan us..."
AnoYi suddenly regretted not letting Gutou get swept away by the torrential flood trap earlier. Such feelings would have to wait until later, however, given current circumstances... Gutou's Champion and its minions begged immediate attention. The Coyote surveyed the opponents as Alaerin and von Mackenstein surged into action. The automaton riflemen should be able to handle the Champion's minions in short order, he hoped, so he joined in with his compatriots in attacking the monstrous Temple Champion.
The Coyote Swordsman wasn't made of metal parts nor had a magic lightning shield so he had to be fast, nimble and precise to avoid getting smashed by the ghostly emerald Champion! Moving up rapidly, he helped Alaerin flank the monstrous Champion but observed the great beast before moving to strike along an unguarded flank. He used the bulk of the Champion's shield to help him hide from it's view. Having a head in the middle of its torso didn't exactly give it a wide, nor high, field if view...

3) Evade Attack
Speed D + Fast F + Jump F
"Never expected an undead army to be 'morning people'... " KaMara said, tightening the dark metal greaves protecting her legs. "That's just rude and inconsiderate. Probably just scavengers looking for a meal or scouts checking out us new arrivals."
She listened to the runners and their report to Nakamura, taking in their Intel. Customarily, duty assignments were the purview of a direct superior officer...but that was regular forces. KaMara and her cohort were Adventurers and could, at best, be described as Irregulars and thus mostly under their own command. Still, deferring to local commanders was a courtesy. "Sounds like the Front Line has things handled on their end, Commander. You want us on North or West duty?". She acted as if the strange and eerie supernatural disturbances around them didn't bother her in the least.
AnoYi picked himself up from the floor and dusted himself off as the trap behind himself and Alaerin closed with the grinding thud of finality. He had to admit that the automatons and their rifles had come in extremely handy, as had Alaerin's magic; together all they made a formidable force. Hopefully, formidable enough to face the final challenges ahead.
While Alaerin made his sketches and von Mackenstein tended to his 'men', AnoYi sheathed his Cutlass and studied the room until the time came to unlock the snake-glyphed door. He eyed Gutou as they all arrayed themselves to face whatever lay behind the serpent door. "Say, Gutou, you've definitely enjoyed watching us strive against the traps and monsters in this tomb... One might think you're something more than just its 'keeper', hm?"
He did not give the four armed undead time to react before taking his place beside one of the doors as Alaerin placed the keys. It was his intent to run back-up for Alaerin and intercept anything that got past the lightning mage and threatened the automatons. He made ready to move at a moments notice as he pressed his back against the wall next to the huge serpent door. With everything off Cooldown, he prepared for the next step...
"Oh, that's an easy answer." KaMara countered as Emily broached the subject of 'non-combatant' Adventurers. "You guys are a 'force multiplier'. What I mean is, you guys can have an outsized effect on keeping the defense militia running and give us an edge over the Zombie Horde by coordinating things and providing analysis on conditions and logistics." She leaned over, dark armor creaking, to whisper perhaps a but too loudly to Emily, "These guys aren't real familiar with the way things are done 'back home'. They're still operating like it's the 1200s. Well, I guess it IS for them... I bet you could really whip things into shape and organize everything to work a lot better. That way we can more effectively defend the town, maximize our supplies and minimize our losses. That's real important work!"

He wasn't sure what the change in color meant for the bolt launched at him. Magic wasn't something he was familiar with in this world, any more do than any other denizen was he supposed. He just knew that it meant something different than the last golden sizzling beam he narrowly avoided.
He left the analysis to those with the knowledge for it. AnoYi was a man (creature?) of Action... Instead of maneuvering out if the way of the bolt, he met it with the steel of his cutlass as he tried to deflect the bolt.
"We better check the time, Sparky..." he addressed Alaerin, turning towards the way back to the others. "Looks like it's Closing Time!" The pillars shook and groaned as they slid closer and closer. Even though his Unicorn Jump was still on Cooldown, AnoYi was still quite quick on his feet (paws?), and made a dash towards safety even as he kept an eye on Alaerin.

Actions:
1) Parry
Fighting Style E (flex to F) + Deflect F (flex) + Accurate F
AnoYi intercepts a blow with his Cutlass, turning it away from him.

Grade: F, Cooldown: 0

2) Mad Dash
Fast F + Jump F
Run & leap to the trap's exit.
Unprepared for the upgraded turrets' strike, AnoYi reacted quickly. In a whirl of crimson cloak, the Coyote Swordsman moved erratically to avoid the incoming fire before leaping forward and activating his Unicorn Jump Ability and bounding along the corridor to strike at one of the upgraded turrets before it could fire another volley.
He hoped that between his own attack and those of Alaerin, von Mackenstein and his droids each attacking different targets the turrets wouldn't last long enough to get a second volley. In as much as he'd trained against living opponents, the traps and automatons fielded by the Tomb thus far had been far more than he'd counted on. Not that it would deter him from finishing out the mission... In fact, it reminded him that there was far more he had to learn about surviving this world than he'd already learned.

ACTIONS:

1) Dodge the incoming Bolt.

2) & 3) Unicorn Jump to reach and attack one of the upgraded turrets.

• *Unicorn Jump*
Fighting Style E + Fast F + Jump F + Accurate F + Penetrate F
Leveraging speed & power, the Unicorn Jump allows the user to spring over and behind an opponent to deliver a surprise strike from the rear.
Actions: 2, Cooldown: 1
Grade: E

KaMara had taken her seat alongside the ladies she'd entered the hall alongside. The others that had traveled the treacherous mountain passes with, the gladiator, the cat girl and the fencer, had joined the three in the Meeting Hall for the formal debrief by Ryota. The Beastman laid it all out in no-nonsense terms and she appreciated the candor. Not that she fully understood the mystical mechanics of the situation but it sounded just as bad as the tactical end of the equation.
The Gladiator and the Assassin both had sound counsel, in her estimation, for Commander Ryota but the Bear-Man knew the true extent of Nan Gau's strengths, weaknesses, defenses and resources. "I stand ready to defend Nan Gau in whatever way you see fit, Commander." she addressed the Bear-Man. "But I do think Yumi..." she pronounced the Assassin's name as if it were 'You-May', her American accent slipping unceremoniously into the Common Tongue as she spoke, "...has a valid point about striking directly at who or whatever is the 'intelligence' behind the undead horde. A decapitation strike would make handling even a large horde of undead a whole lot easier when they're just a shambling menace rather than a directed force." From the Adventurers assembled around her, she thought there were enough that solidly fit a reconnaissance force while still leaving some to stay behind and defend the town.

He didn't like essentially being Gutou's guard or handler but the practicality of it made it a necessary evil...the worst kind of evil. "We don't really have to haul everything out of here, Alaerin. It's a tomb. Most of this stuff should probably stay here unless you wanna start your own British Museum or something. Plus, lugging all that around is bound to slow us down. We're here for the flute.
He couldn't stop Alaerin from treasure hunting or souvenir collecting but he didn't see the point in disturbing the tomb any more than necessary.

"Yeah, I don't think just 'magicking' the orb over to us is the ideal thing to do either... I agree, doing that might set off a trap." he looked down his muzzle at Gutou as if seeking some kind of answer to the question. "Well, I'm guessing those turrets there explain why the armor we found was battered up so badly." he indicated the murder slot boxes along the obstacle course. " You've got a forcefield, Alaerin. You could run the course and von Mack and his, er, robot army could shoot the projectile ports and give you covering fire."
AnoYi

"As ill advised as delving further into the tomb may be, I'll stick with my compatriots...as will you." AnoYi answered the dessicated tomb guardian. "'All for One and One for All' and whatnot..." The Coyote mischievously winked at Gutou as he drew his cutlass, pointing it into the damp corridor where Alaerin and von Mackenstein recovered themselves.

Dragging Gutou, figuratively if possible and literally if required, AnoYi joined his companions above the formerly submerged pit. "For a Tomb Guardian, you are woefully uninformed on what exactly lurks around here..."
