Allegiances: House Landry, House Tully, House Redfort
Occupation: Noble, Squire
Relationship Status: Single
Sexuality: Unknown
History
Born only 10 months before the youngest Landry child, Ashton, Willam was named for his late uncle. An always energetic and ambitious boy, Willam, much like his eldest brother, Morgain, wished to ward away from Fallow Hill to see more of the world. Unlike Morgain, Will got his wish, and was sent to live with the Redforts of Redfort in the Vale at age 12, becoming page to Lord Refort. He has since been taken on as a squire, and looks a promising young swordsman.
Personality
Quick-witted, and full of energy, Will has always been determined to be the best he can be. As a young lad, he dreamed of being a great knight, and one day fighting aside his brothers in battle. He's usually lighthearted, but is known to focus in when it's time to work.
Appearance
Stands at around 5'9. Wiry, quick build. Shoulder-length brown hair. Light hazel eyes. Typically wears light leather.
Born the second son of the second son of House Landry. Born and raised as a warrior like Edmund’s father before him. Growing up hearing stories from his father’s men and some from his father himself it was when he heard the name of the legendary Ser Barristan Selmy Edmund’s mind was made. He wanted to be a part of the legendary Kingsguard, his name to go down in history as a knight so legendary that his name would be remembered for the century’s to come. He didn’t waste a moment to train and hone his skills, becoming a keen warrior despite his early age.
Finding the best of friends in the Master of Arms Baldric bastard son, forming a strong bond between the two young. One of the few people that he completely trusted. Growing into his own with an incredible height of 6’4. Leading some people to believe of that he was a bastard but looking at Edmund he is a spitting image of both his mother and father. Growing strong and tall fast, his calling as a knight would be soon realized. He knew that his dreams would be put into motion but something would happen during his years as a squire that would throw his ambition of being a Kingsguard out the window.
Edmund spent his years as a squire to the new Lord Ryger, his mother’s brother. Spending many years learning to become a more ample and revered knight for his future position. In his time as a squire and attending to the new Lord Ryger he met another highbord, a young woman that he became enthralled with and she with him. Would it be though? A riverman and girl from the Westerlands, could it happen? It was in this time he met his idol Ser Barristan during one of the tourney’s that he attended as a squire but it was also around this time that he found out about his brother’s disappearance. Honestly he didn’t know how to take it. All of a sudden he went from the second son to the the heir of Fallow Hill, he didn’t know how to take it. He kept about his duties but he continued to dwell on his newfound calling as an heir.
Within in the year Edmund was knighted and was very proud about the fact but it was short lived as he realized he’d be the heir instead of dream as one the Kingsguard. Returning home to Fallow Hill to take on his role as heir apparent. Rekindling lost relationships with his family and friends. Focusing more on his youngest brother Ashton and his mother Priscillia.
In quite recent memory Edmund had participated in the Tourney of the Hand, like any young newly knighted highborn he wanted to prove himself to the rest of the world. He entered the joust and did fairly well even knocking down one of his two opponents before he lost. His first opponet was Ser Symon Haigh, the family's main rivial. Knocking him clean of his horse in the first bout, claiming his horse in the process. Creating a much larger rift in the rivialry.
His loss didn’t come from any ordinary man though, it came from Ser Gregor Clegane. The Mountain that rides himself. Facing him right after Ser Hugh of Vale had died the previous day from Ser Gregor’s lance. Perhaps he was bold or just plain stupid but he rode against the man showing no fear. Actually breaking several lance against him before Edmund had to concede defeat. The power Ser Gregor had was just too much for the young man to handle and withdrew from the tournament. Afterward, he didn’t feel right, he couldn’t stand the weight of his armor hanging from him. Seeking a Maester afterwards it turned out that he had severed bruised ribs along with his shoulder being bruised and a considerable amount of whiplash from Ser Gregor’s lance. Needless to say Edmund was hurting and lucky he didn’t receive more punishment. Though he did fare far better than most against Ser Gregor which did put him in a good light in the eyes of most.
Personality
Edmund is his father's son, loyal to fault. When Edmund gives his word it is set in stone, true to his dream being a knight is loyalty is unwavering. There are a few that he is more loyal too but to true to his nature Edmund is always dependable, even if he is a bit rash and hot headed at times.
Unlike his father’s chastity Edmund has a thing for women, sometimes and obsession and rumor has it that he has several bastards at the local brothel. The ladies won’t say though considering the amount of coin the young man has spent there. Along with his vices Edmund has grown an odd twisted sense of humor, sometimes downright crude. He watches his tone around his father and his family, usually only letting such behavior lose along with his closest friends.Edmund also craves his father praise and yearns for a sense of accomplishment but he also resents his father for reasons he won’t divulge let alone openly admit to it.
Appearance
Despite Edmunds hair color which has grown to lighter shade of blondish brown, indicating some blonde back in his family's lineage, it’s only when the sun hits just right that his heritage clear. Keeping trace amounts of facial hair the perceives him to be slightly older than most people think. He tries to keep it somewhat trimmed to distinguish his appearance. Edmund has inherited his father's hazel eyes that change with his mood se, they tend to favor a greenish tint though. Edmund is a giant among his family, he stands at a lean and muscular 6’4. Almost a literal giant and his frame broad frame gives him more of authoritative look about him, despite his jovial attitude towards all.
Typical around the keep he is often wearing leathers to keep comfortable, but he does also carry is his blade. Ever the warrior he does want to at least be prepared if anything was to happen. The only real indication of his highborn status is a simple gold signet ring about his finger, but it is only a formality.
Notable Possessions
Golden Ring with the sigil of his family, personalized armor (Leather/Chainmail and plate), Weapons including Sword, Shield and Spear, Black Destrier named Shadow
⚜§Edwyn Landry§⚜ Edmund relationship with his father is both awkward and a bit estranged. Even while on the road riding together they don’t say much. Leaving most words unspoken, having a general consensus on what the other is thinking. Edmund doesn’t resent his father for thrusting him into the current position as heir, he resents him for leaving him unprepared for the road ahead of him and the fact he seems rather placid when things heat up in the family.
⚜♫Priscilla Landry♫⚜ Edmund and Priscilla are close and this fact is widely known. It is most likely that she gave him more attention in his younger years helping to mold Edmund outside his martial training under his father and Ser Baldric. He identifies with her because the believes they share a lot of the same personality traits. Her approval was always there and welcoming while it seemed his fathers was vacant at times. This is the main reason he is so close with Priscillia.
☮§Ariella Landry§☮ Edmund is as nice as he can be to his sister and he knows that she is hurting but believes that the past is the past and she needs to get over their brother Morgain. Accepting the facts as they are and that he is most likely dead or that he went to Essos. If Ariella tries to corner or talk to Edmund about the relationship with his father or his vices he will walk away. He doesn’t feel the need to explain his reasons and she should pick up her life and carry on.
⚜Morgain Landry⚜ Edmund loved his brother and he still does but he believes his brother is long dead. If he wasn’t he would’ve come back by now. He enjoyed the scuffles and the rivalry that the two shared but thats all they all are is memories to Edmund anymore.
⚜☮William Landry☮⚜ Edmund loves William but feels estranged from the young man since he is gone so much. He wants to spend more time with him but he knows young William will need to focus solely on his time being an active squire. He wants his younger brother to become a knight and with his duties as squire that they will consume his time much like they did with him. Looking forward to the day he can call him Ser.
⚜♫Ashton Landry♫⚜ He feels almost like a father figure to his younger brother Ashton. Teaching him combat and helping train his unique style. Taking the time with young Ash and talking him through the motions, taking a very hands on approach to his youngest sibling. With him being the youngest though he feels as if he has to protect him until he can come to a full understanding of the world about him.
⚜Ser Baldric Durant⚜ Best of friends with his son Mace who is one of Edmunds truest confidants. When it comes to Baldric himself he is eternally grateful for help hone his skills as a warrior. Enjoying his company, especially when he’s started drinking. He does wanna box with him at least once to see who’d win but the opportunity has never arose.
☯⚤Liliana Blackwood⚤☯ While he doesn’t know Liliana well he does believe that they are a good match and hopes that they get along, at least better than his parents. The only bad or rather questionable thing about his betrothed is her size. He worries that when/if the day comes they have children it will take a considerable toll on her small frame.
☮Robert Rivers☮ Overall Edmund likes Robert, his sarcasm and jest to lighten the mood are always welcome, even if they are at the most awkward of times. Bonding with him on the many hunts the two accompanied his father on. Considers him pretty much like another brother.
Born only ten minutes after his twin sister, Ariella, Morgain was the first son of Lord Edwyn Landry, an heir, born within a year of his parents' wedding. From his first steps he was trained and tutored in the ways of lordship, but also found a first-class swordsmanship tutor in Baldric Durant. He did not despise his studies, but he found more enjoyment in riding through the hills with his sister, whom he always shared an incredibly strong bond with.
By his early teens, he was already a promising swordsman, a charismatic diplomat, and a natural leader. In a lot of ways, he mirrored his father, but without the reclusive, introverted side. The people of Fallow Hill took to him greatly, with soldiers voicing their respect, and maidens voicing their intrigue.
Although he never clicked with them the same way he clicked with his sister, Morgain still held all of his brothers close to his heart. He enjoyed many spars with Edmund on summer evenings (despite a slight rivalry between the two, at times,) trips out into the fields with Will, and deep conversations with Ash. He respected his father greatly, but often felt like an object of succession, as opposed to a truly loved son.
Aged 18, seemingly out of the blue, Morgain went missing from Fallow Hill during the night. To this day, nobody knows if he is alive or dead, or where he is.
Personality
Charming, courteous, and seemingly full of confidence, Morgain always seemed perfect for future lordship. With wit and leadership similar to his father, but without reclusive tendencies holding him back, Morgain was seen as a centrepiece of the Fallow Hill community. However, much like his father, the four walls of the keep often felt restrictive to him, and he much preferred riding through the plains, without a worry in the world.
Morgain accepted his responsibilities, though, and embraced the house values of loyalty and hard work. He was often light-hearted and cheerful, but always took his duties seriously. The pressure bestowed upon him often got to him, however, and he was known to have periods of time where he would struggle to eat and sleep from stress and low mood.
Appearance
A classically handsome lad, standing a little over six foot, with a agile, muscular frame. Short, messy dark-brown hair, and a light layer of stubble covering his chin. Hazel eyed, much like his father.
Notable Possessions
A dapple gelding named Lightning. It has the same mother as Ariella's horse, Thunder. It's status is unknown.
Born in Willow Wood soon after her parents' marriage, Ariella was the first child of Edwyn and Priscilla, followed a mere ten minutes later by her twin brother Morgain. Coming in so early meant that she was able to enjoy Edwyn's younger years, when he played more the role of a father figure than he did with his subsequent children (though she always suspected that being the only daughter earned her a soft spot in her father's heart).
Ariella had a childhood fairly typical of noble girls, though she and her twin were absolutely inseparable. She took well to womanly arts such as sewing and embroidery, never having shown much interest in fighting beyond watching tournaments, though she shared a passion for riding with Morgain. The two had taken to the sport as soon as they were old enough to sit on horses, and it was a rare day that they didn't tack up at least once for a ride through the trails at the foot of the Mountains or across some great expanse of harvested field. Often the two would take some meandering path and simply talk about anything and everything, though Morgain had been known to goad his sister into racing. Though Ariella formed bonds with all of her brothers, it was unquestionable that Morgain was the one she held the closest, even as their interests deviated in their teen years.
Always a well-behaved and surprisingly cooperative child, Ariella was a pathological mediator, often trying to break up fights between her brothers, even when there was no real conflict to be had. Her even temper and cooperative attitude served her well as she grew, the girl soon becoming a natural diplomat, popular with visiting nobility as she was talented at forming and maintaining relationships and avoiding and diffusing conflict. This skill became even more useful as her parents began drifting apart; Ariella is perhaps the only of Edwyn and Priscilla's children to maintain a relationship with both of them, often acting as a sort of go-between, trying not to let the rift between her parents split the family any further than it has.
When Ariella was 16, it was decided that she would wed Ser Rodrik Blackwood, son of Howard Blackwood and brother of Liliana, a young man of only 19 at the time. Initially upset to be leaving (as she is quite attached to both her home and her family) Ariella took the news in stride, more than willing to fulfill her duty as a Lord's daughter and hopeful that she could forge the alliance that the marriage was meant to create. She was sent to live with the Blackwoods in Raventree Hall prior to the marriage, and to her pleasant surprise, Ariella found Rodrik to be a fine young man, and found nothing objectionable about marrying him. She didn't exactly love him, but he was a good man, and they did become something like friends during her stay at Raventree hall; Ariella held out a hope that love could grow over time.
Sadly, Ariella's hopes were dashed when, almost two years into her life with the Blackwoods, Rodrik was killed in a joust, devastating Ariella more than she would have expected. With her betrothed dead, Ariella was sent home to Fallow Hill, then 18, where she learned that Morgain had gone missing. Still grieving from Rodrik's death and then faced with possibly her worst nightmare coming true, Ariella fell into a deep sadness, unable to sleep from the worry gripping her and losing all desire to eat. She became thin, gaunt, and weak, and for a few months became reclusive, often simply refusing to get out of bed. All she could think of day in and day out was Morgain, worried absolutely sick about what fate could have befallen him, and heartbroken from his absence.
After a few months of this, Ariella finally got some kind of grip on herself and forced herself to rejoin the living once again, resolving that Morgain must be out there somewhere and that he wouldn't want her wallowing in sorrow. However, his absence still gnaws at her, and although she is healthier now, she hasn't quite bounced back to her former self.
Personality
Ariella is very much her father's daughter; measured, tactful, stable and dignified, she took his teachings of honour and duty to heart, and is every bit what a proper noblewoman should be. It was often joked by her caregivers that she and Morgain were one soul in two bodies; all the fire had gone into Morgain, leaving Ariella to act as the cool-headed voice of reason, a serene presence to balance out her brother's dynamic personality. This was a great help as children, Ariella being the one usually breaking up fights between her brothers, and has continued into an effective diplomatic tool, the woman having a talent for diffusing conflict. However, unlike her father, Ariella used to be a touch more alive, warmer, not so much stoic as simply calm and patient.
However, in the time since her twin's disappearance, Ariella has lost some of the life in her, having become withdrawn and a little sullen. She'll still put on a convincing brave face and fulfill her duties as needed, and still greet her siblings with a warm smile (she always has time for them), but as of late it seems as if it's more for their sake than her own, seeming like she's not so much living, but going through the motions. Losing Morgain made her feel as if she lost a part of herself, though it's the uncertainty as to his fate that gnaws at her the most. She holds out the hope that she'll see him again, but in the back of her mind, she fears the worst. She doubts she'll truly have peace until she sees her brother again, dead or alive.
Appearance
Ariella is an earthy young beauty, with auburn hair that falls in gentle waves, a little lighter in colour than her brothers, and smooth, fair skin. A young suitor once told her that her eyes were the colour of an early frost; a pale, icy green inherited from her father's hazel. Her middling height of 5'6" is made all the more apparent by the towering height of her brothers, though she holds herself as tall and proud as any of them.
Once healthy and vibrant, since her brother's disappearance Ariella's distress has manifested physically as well as mentally. While not exactly sickly, Ariella has an air of exhaustion about her; she is thinner than her maester would like, her appetite having all but disappeared, and she's often seen with dark circles under her eyes. Her beauty is still there, but grief has dulled it.
In terms of dress, Ariella dresses as finely as is typical of her station, not letting her despair affect her image. Her thinness has attracted her to more covering garments, as despite her loss of appetite, she's self-conscious about being bony. She's fond of styles from the Westerlands, thinking their colours and patterns more exciting than the styles typical of the Riverlands. She wears her hair many ways, often wearing whichever new style her handmaiden wanted to try, though the theme is usually to let her hair fall largely free, tempered with braiding.
A dagger carried within the layers of her skirts. It isn't exactly her 'style' to carry a weapon, but when she left for Raventree Hall, Edmund and Morgain both insisted that she not be totally helpless, and she has carried it ever since.
⚜☮Edwyn Landry☮⚜ Ariella and her father share a sort of understanding, Ariella being possibly the only remaining member of their family to maintain a personal relationship with the man. A largely unspoken bond, it's likely that Lord Edwyn has a soft spot for his only daughter, whereas Ariella seems to see the love her father has for his children more than the rest of the family can. She greatly respects him, and enjoys spending time with him, riding and occasionally talking, knowing a certain gentleness in him that her brothers aren't so privileged to experience.
§Priscilla Landry§ Ariella's relationship with her mother is difficult to explain. While they get along on the surface, and there is love there, there has often been an odd tension between them, Ariella tending to be uneasy around her mother for reasons she herself can't even explain. She is loath to form a rift in the family though, and remains as respectful and friendly as any good daughter should be, but there often isn't much to be said between them when they are alone. Ariella always felt closer to her father, but she is saddened by his and her mother's estrangement, and tries to act as a sort of go-between for them to try and prevent them from drifting further apart. Secretly, Ariella wonders that Priscilla isn't as saddened by Morgain's disappearance as she should be.
♫♫Morgain Landry♫♫ Ariella's bond with her twin cannot be overstated. The two were inseparable into their teen years, acting as everything from playmates to mutual advisors to confidants; so close were they that Morgain often joked he'd never let their father marry Ariella off to anyone who lived more than an hour's ride away. The two truly did seem to be "one soul in two bodies," often balancing each other out in personality; Ariella was often the only one who could calm her brother once his temper had flared, and Morgain remains one of the only people who could rile his sister out of her habitual calm, either for an argument or a raucous laugh. Morgain's disappearance has been more than the loss of a brother and dear friend; for Ariella, losing Morgain has been like losing a lung.
☮Edmund Landry☮ Despite being fairly close in age, Ariella still considers Edmund a "little brother;" stature notwithstanding. While Edmund might object to the idea, Ariella thinks he's more like their father than he realizes, and sees the same hidden gentleness in him that she sees in Edwyn. She is greatly impressed by and proud of his skill as a Knight, and enjoys spending time with him when she can, though she disapproves of his womanizing and hopes he'll clean up his act after his marriage to Liliana. To Ariella's chagrin, deep down she resents his eagerness to take the mantle of Heir (even if he is resentful of the position himself) as it seems like he considers Morgain dead, a concept Ariella is not yet ready to accept.
☯Willam Landry☯ Like her other brothers, Ariella adored Willam when he was a child, taking delight in his antics even if his rivalry with Ashton occasionally (needlessly) bothered her. However, his lengthy absence during his formative years have made him somewhat of a stranger; the two are still fond of each other, but they don't know each other as well as Ariella knows the rest of her siblings.
♫Ashton Landry♫ Ariella loves all of her brothers, but towards Ashton she is particularly gentle. Many, many times she's counseled the boy in his fits of worry, careful not to coddle him too much (lest he feel condescended to) but offering him an ear to speak to and a shoulder to cry on should he need it, not to mention no shortage of older-sisterly advice. She has enjoyed watching him grow (though she regretted being away during some of his most formative years) and is impressed with the young man he is becoming, but she would caution him not to shoulder the burdens of manhood quite so soon.
☯Ser Baldric Durant☯ Only really having observed her brothers' training in the yard and watched him in tournaments, Ariella has had very little personal interaction with Ser Baldric. She respects his skill and appreciates his expert tutelage of her brothers, as well as his loyalty to her father.
☯Liliana Blackwood☯ While Ariella did live with Liliana's family at Raventree Hall for almost two years, their age difference was fairly pronounced at the time and as such, they didn't interact much on a personal level. Ariella is fairly fond of the girl, as she never gave her any reason to dislike her, and since her warding at Fallow Hill, has tried to familiarize herself with the girl who will wed her brother. As of yet, though, their relationship is mostly formal in nature, with little in the way of personal familiarity.
☯☮Robert Rivers☮☯ Save for the time she spent at Raventree Hall, Ariella crossed paths with the kennel-and-stablehand near-daily on her way to either retrieve Thunder for a ride or one of her favourite hounds for some excursion. While she always thought he had a funny way about him (owing largely to his cavalier attitude with others) she found him overall pleasant, always having taken good care of Thunder and never having shown any disloyalty to the House. As of late the two have grown a little friendlier; Ariella has taken up secretly paying Rob to search for information on Morgain during his patrols, and she isn't blind to his attempts to cheer her up, either. She's particularly fond of his little friend Wight, probably more than Rob himself is.
Priscilla is a medium height female with a slim frame that almost makes her look fragile. But she's not so fragile as she appears. She stands at five foot seven but some of her clothing makes her look a tad bit taller than she really is. Only a tad, not much. Priscilla weighs one hundred and thirty pounds so, many can see why she seems to be fragile. Her eyes shine the color of blue with hints of green seen in the irises. Her hair flows to the middle of her back and while it may appear black, it is actually a dark brown color. She ties it up in a bun or likes to let it flow freely with some of her hair tied up in a middle ponytail.
PERSONALITY
Priscilla is an extremely loyal person. She is mostly loyal to her family than anything though. She will literally do whatever it takes to ensure their safety and will rip someone to shreds who dares to try and cross anyone of them. Even Edwyn. Priscilla is quite the noblewoman but will turn into a bitch quick, fast and in a hurry if you mess with her family. She's also quite understanding other's feelings and their needs. She can only give them, whoever it may be, the best comfort possible and try to be there for them as a confidant or a shoulder to cry on.
But do not take her kindness for a weakness as she'll definitely toss a few well-placed words your way. She has a sharp tongue that's probably tired from all of the lashings she gave out over her years growing up. She's a very quick-witted woman and doesn't hesitate to give even some of the finest nobles a taste of it. She's been known to do so in the past. She even gives Edwyn a taste of her words whenever she feels like he needs it.
HISTORY
Priscilla is the eldest daughter of the Ryger family from Willow Wood. She had your rather basic noble upbringing, having many servants and maidens around her at all times and available whenever she needed it. Priscilla was also heavily guarded with her being the eldest but when her mother birthed a second child, a boy, he was quickly chosen as the heir apparent and she was left with little to no attention at all after that. She became a bit bitter towards him and acted out accordingly. She was still a lady but took actions as she saw fit towards her brother.
Growing up, she was much closer to her mother and learned a lot from her. Her father was too busy with running the lands and primping up her brother up to be the next Lord. She and her mother always walked through the gardens to discuss things amongst themselves but when she met Edwyn, it was seemingly already set in stone that they’d be betrothed to one another. They became extremely close to one another after a while and soon enough, they were getting wed to each other. She was just a year younger than him when they did so. About a year later, she was packed up and heading over to Fallow Hill with Edwyn and her newborn twins. She said goodbye and left behind everything and Willow Wood and hasn’t really looked back since.
Things changed pretty fast there for her and it was like she couldn’t really keep up during her first few months there. So much was happening that she felt like she was caught in a whirlwind. She also started to feel a bit detached from Edwyn, who became rather distant from her. Priscilla did not know what to do but gave him his space during the times he needed it the most. But it was during a battle that was being waged that she was caught in the middle of it. Priscilla had to choose where her true loyalties lied and of course, with her children and husband, she stuck beside them and rooted for them inside of her own family. She did what she had to do for her family, the one she has now.
A few months went by and Edwyn returned back to their home. She had taken care of the children with the best of her ability. The news of Edwyn’s father passing in battle devastated her and she stood by Edwyn during this time but he was busy with his Lord duties and she felt even more detached from him. Priscilla honestly couldn’t take it anymore and just accepted it for whatever it was. At least she had her children though, who she adored very much. There’s a small piece of her that still adores her husband, Edwyn, as well. She just wishes that things could go back to the way they were but unfortunately, it doesn’t seem as if that’s the case.
Now though, she has bared many children for Edwyn and has been the best Lady of Fallow Hill as one tries to be. She has grown worried over the disappearance of her eldest son, Morgain and tries to keep herself and the rest of the family sane during these troubling times. Priscilla hasn’t mourned yet because of it as she is keeping the faith. The summer has come but so has pressure from the west. She is trying to enjoy this summer at least but for her children’s sake besides her own.
NOTABLE POSSESSIONS
❖ Her bow and arrows are hidden away from prying eyes and she keeps it a secret that she's an expert archer. No one in the Landry Household knows.
❖ When she became a teenager, her mother gifted her with some jewelry that she has treasured since then and plus, they somewhat match her eye color.
As the second son of Lothor Landry, Edwyn was trained for war from a young age in hopes of one day becoming a great knight. His elder brother, Willam, a good and honourable lad, had been groomed from birth to be the next lord of Fallow Hill, so it was never Edwyn's intention, nor his desire, to take up the role. The farmlands bored him, the politics bored him, and he wanted for nothing but to see the Seven Kingdoms, and to bring honour to his family name. From his mid-teens he spent several years as a squire for Lord Ryger of Willow Wood. There, he became close to Priscilla, a daughter of Lord Ryger, who he was eventually made to wed, aged eighteen. The two returned to Fallow Hill a year later with newborn twins.
By his twenties, Edwyn was a well-thought of knight, and fought valiantly for his house and House Tully on multiple occassions. However, expectations of him drastically shifted when his brother, Willam, was fatally wounded in a joust. The duty now fell to Edwyn to one day follow in the footsteps of his father, who was now in his late fifties. During his shift into adulthood, Edwyn found these expectations damaging to his mental health, becoming more and more closed off as he aged, distancing himself from the rest of his family, Priscilla included, at times.
When Lord Hoster Tully called his banners in the early stages of Robert's Rebellion to aid the rebels, House Landry heeded the call immediately, with both Lord Lothor and Edwyn riding out from Fallow Hill. In the Battle of the Bells, Edwyn narrowly survived death with the help of a fierce Northener, Baldric Durant. The two forged a great friendship, and fought in several other skirmishes and battles together. Edwyn eventually participated in the Battle of the Trident, which ultimately determined the outcome of the war. During the battle, Edwyn's father was killed by Targaryen bannermen. With no time to mourn, Edwyn took Valleysong, the House's ancestral blade, from Lothor's body, and assumed command of House Landry's forces.
When Edwyn next returned to Fallow Hill, he was a Lord. He took charge well, an commanded respect from his people. He installed Baldric as his master-at-arms, and focused on maintaining the wellbeing of the land. One of the major hurdles Edwyn faced as lord during his first years was the troublesome neighbouring family, House Haigh, of Deepbank. The Landrys and Haighs had always hated eachother - the Haighs saw the Landrys as arrogant pricks, and the Landrys saw the Haighs as jealous fools. No Haigh was more intolerable than Lord Walker Haigh, who stopped at nothing to step on Edwyn's toes whenever he could. Needless to say, Edwyn, for the most part, shrugged off the other Lord's childishness, remaining focused on his lordly duties.
Now, many years and several children later, Edwyn is in his middle-age, and has watched over a truly fruitful summer for his land. After the recent disappearance of his eldest son, however, and the growing pressure from the west, Edwyn has no time for celebration.
Personality
Edwyn has always been a closed book. Cold, quiet, and reclusive, it is a rare occassion that he ever shows the slightest hint of emotional fragility. Whilst many describe him as stoic and brave, some, particularly his family, find his neutrality difficult to deal with. He was born to be a soldier, and a leader of men, and, as such, is renowned as one of the great Lords of the Riverlands, but the role of a father and husband do not come so naturally to him. He loves all of his children dearly, but is rarely openly affectionate, with a simple "well done" being significantly gratifying for most of them. Strict, but justly fair, Edwyn has never inflicted an undeserved punishment - to his children, nor his people.
His confidence and duty to play his role as a diplomat are often decieving, as he is very much so an introvert. He spends most of his days reading, dealing with Lordly duties, or hunting, leaving little time for his wife, with whom he has become estranged in years gone by. Their relationship is far more complex than 'fallen out of love', however, as is to be expected from a character such as Edwyn.
One trait of Edwyn that remains ever-stalwart is his value of honour. He believes in fairness, and his word is bond. Since birth, he was taught about loyalty and it's importance, and now, as a father, echoes those teachings unto his own children. He has never bedded another woman since marriage, nor acted dishonourbly in war, and, as such, is one of the most respected Lords in the Riverlands.
Appearance
Edwyn has a striking, classically handsome appearance, with short, ruffled brunet hair. He looks well for his age, though he typically wears a stony frown that emphasizes the wrinkles and scars on his skin, and his dark brown beard is speckled with flecks of grey. His hazel eyes can seem either brown or green depending on the lighting, and they seem to have a fire about them when he is impassioned or angry. He stands at a reasonable 5'11, and has a healthy, broad-shouldered shape, perhaps a little stronger than the average Lord.
Even when in the comfort of his own home, Edwyn tends to wear fairly practical clothing, such as light leather, as is his nature to move and be active. A former soldier, it is not uncommon to see him in armour, especially outside of the keep. He is rarely ever seen in public without Valleysong, the ancestral sword of House Landry, at his hip. He wears no jewlery, and cares little for material possessions.
Notable Possessions
Valleysong, a valyrian steel longsword that has been traditionally carried by the Lord of House Landry for over 400 years.
⚤§Priscilla Landry§⚤ Once teenage sweethearts, now fallen out of love? It is not as simple as that, mostly due to Edwyn's complex nature. He still cares dearly for his wife, but has struggled with life as a lord, a father, and a husband. He often shuts himself off from Priscilla, and unintentionally neglects her personal needs, which has left her estranged from him. For the good of the family, the two put on a convincing show as star-crossed lovers, but behind closed doors, their partnership is often quiet and tense.
☮Ariella Landry☮ Edwyn has a unique bond with his only daughter. Intent on all of his sons being sturdy and emotionally strong, he seldom shows them his softer side, but to Ariella, he occasionally speaks unguarded. Ariella perhaps understands her father as well as anyone could, and for that, he values her greatly. He loves all of his children equally, but finds that his daughter shares the most in common with him out of them all. Part of him is secretly gladdened that her marriage did not work out, as he sees her as an important personal advisor.
⚜Morgain Landry⚜ Edwyn was incredibly proud of the man Morgain was becoming, but still never had a truly strong father-son bond with his eldest boy. He did not solely see him as a student and successor, but that was how he treated him most often. He only wanted the best for his boy, and thus, sought to fully prepare him for lordship. Edwyn misses him dearly, but would be incredibly disappointed if he found Morgain ran away from his duties.
⚜§Edmund Landry§⚜ Much like Morgain, Edmund has more of a student and successor relationship with Edwyn than a close family bond. The two have stood beside eachother on the battlefield, and have a bond in that regard, but there is still an awkwardness that leaves room for resentment from Edmund. Before Morgain's disappearance, Edwyn pushed Edmund to his limits to become the best warrior possible. Everything he has done, though, he has done thinking it best for Edmund.
⚜Willam Landry⚜ Edwyn is proud of Will for his eagerness to branch out and develop as a fighter. Will's time away has not affected their relationship much, and he always gets a hug and a ruffle-of-the-hair when he returns home, before Edwyn quickly retreats back into his distant, observant persona. Will does not hold any resentment for his father, and respects his role in the family.
⚜Ashton Landry⚜ As with his other sons, Edwyn wishes to mould Ashton into a strong and stable man, and, as such, is often strict and unemotional towards him. However, Edwyn sees Ashton as wise beyond his years and believes in his ability greatly. He believes Ashton's future to be bright, but sees some weakness in the boy that still must be rooted out.
⚜♫Ser Baldric Durant♫⚜ Baldy is probably the best friend Edwyn has, as the two have seen a great deal together. Edwyn values and respects Baldric, and sees him as a brother on the battlefield. Whilst normally highly strung and calm, Edwyn is relaxed and lighthearted around Baldric, and the two have had plenty of good laughs together. He trusts him with the life of his own children.
☯Liliana Blackwood☯ Edwyn had met Liliana briefly before she moved to Fallow Hill, and he suggested her betrothal to Edmund himself. He sees her as a charismatic, bright young girl who would make a fine partner to his son, likely balancing out Edmund's more rash and rough side. That being said, the two do not have a personal relationship, and have only exchanged a handful of words.
☮Robert Rivers☮ Edwyn takes on the role of an uncle of sorts to Robert, watching from afar to make sure that he is safe and well. He is not as strict to the lad as he is to his own children, as, in his eyes, Robert has less to live up to. Because of this, the two have a more casual relationship and have had numerous conversations over the years when out hunting.
I think I'll post the character sheets myself in the Characters section. It just makes it easier in case anyone drops out/goes rogue. Is this alright with everyone?
