Real Name: Maleficent
Cursed Name: Blake Lockwood
Age: Appears 28
Appearance:
Standing at 6ft exactly, Blake paints a rather domineering picture. Having a fairly active lifestyle, has leant him to an adequate musculature, though not over the top by any means. His hair, a dark brunette shade, is usually kept short and swept back for ease of wear. Surprisingly to some, his eyes are a sharp blue in colour and if any part of him were to betray any emotion, it would be them. Generally he dresses smart casual, with his attire ranging from a shirt and jeans, to a jumper and tailored trousers. Although he is by no means 'interested' in fashion, he does take a degree of care in his appearance. In terms of age he appears around twenty-eight, fairies seeming to age differently than their fellow humankind.

Personality:Before the curse, Maleficant was a being consumed by hate and revenge. He cared not for the lives of others and was consumed with his own dark feelings. As a powerful fairy, he was able to twist the fate in his direction and most were too scared to challenge his him. Although it was true that he had developed a fondness for Aurora, this was not able to overshadow his hatred for the King and he never ceased his attempts at revenge.
Now he is generally viewed as a man who keeps to himself, unconcerned with the trivial goings on amongst the small town. Yet he is hardworking and puts a lot of effort into his businesses. He can be stubborn and unforgiving once his trust has been lost, not easily seeing the viewpoints of others. He can be sociable when he needs to be and has a certain charm that he doesn't particularly like to reveal to others. Generally his likes can be summarised as alcohol, cigars and late night walks (alone).
Backstory:Maleficant was born in an enchanted kingdom known as the Moors, which bordered a kingdom of humans. Originally a beautiful land of picturesque mountains, lakes and forests, he lived their peacefully as a child, magic simply being fun and freeing. He had never known his parents (whom had been killed by humans when he was a baby) but had been raised by the other magical creatures that populated the Moors. As a young boy, he met and became quick friends with a human peasant boy named Stefan. Stefan became like a brother to him, a family that he had never had. Over the years the divide between the human kingdom and the Moors grew greater, the then King Henry hating the creatures out of fear of their magical abilities. Subsequently as Maleficant grew he became more powerful and as such became the protector of his land, keeping the human armies at bay.
On his deathbed, King Henry declared that whoever could kill Maleficant would be named his successor and marry his daughter, Princess Leah. Stefan, having lived a life of poverty, had an cruel ambition that overshadowed his friendship with Maleficant. Betraying their friendship, he cut off his wings with iron, which is lethal to fairies, and presented them to the King, sealing his fate as the future King Stefan. Maleficant, devastated by the loss of his wings and the betrayal of his friend, fell into darkness, the Moors becoming a place of anger and war.
Not long after his coronation, King Stefan announced that he was to have a child. At her christening Maleficant, driven by anger and revenge, placed a curse on the baby, deeming that on her sixteenth birthday she will prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and fall into a deep sleep from which she will never awaken.
Despite their best attempts to hide their daughter, Maleficant was able to locate the cottage where the baby and her godmothers resided. As the curse would not harm the child until her sixteenth birthday, Maleficant resorted to watching over the girl. At first he had planned to ensure that Aurora grew up in misery but after observing her godmothers, and seeing how incapable they were living as humans, begun to reluctantly take care of the Princess from afar. Afterall, it would not do if she were to fall ill or die
before her sixteenth birthday. Although this proved a difficult feat as the child was a curious and explorative one, Maleficant did take pleasure in playing tricks on the three fairies. Throughout all of this, Maleficant spent those long sixteen years at constant war with King Stefan and the neighbouring Kingdom.
Despite himself, Maleficant developed a fondness for Aurora. However the curse could not be broken now that it had been set in motion and on her sixteenth birthday she pricked her finger on the needle, falling into a deep slumber. Maleficant, intent on saving Aurora, took her apparant true love Philip to the castle, whose kiss failed to awaken the girl. At her bedside, Maleficant apologised to Aurora and kissed her forehead – his feelings towards her counting as true love. Not wanting her to know, he insisted that Prince Philip say it was him who had broken the curse, the fairy leaving before she could fully awaken. Maleficant spent the subsequent years trying to find another way to get revenge on King Stefan, until the curse hit that is...
Post-curse he is the owner of several businesses across town, including a bookshop and coffee shop. He works hard and his employees are fond of him, however he doesn't generally socialise outside of work and prefers to keep to himself. The other inhabitants of the town don't really known much about him and it would appear that he wishes to keep it that way.
