Just for the sake of offering some assurance: I am still working on my character, though progress is probably the slowest it has ever been for me when designing a character. I'll get it done soon enough, though.

Thanks. Fun fact: that's actually my real eye that I had someone help take a picture of (actually the picture was of my face, I just cropped it to only the eye).

By the way, since I didn't actually receive a response last time I feel obliged to repeat my question from earlier: is the picture for the appearance-section optional or obligatory? I don't usually use pictures of any kind for my characters, preferring to simply describe them in prose, and I don't want to start looking for a picture or start writing a detailed description of my character's features until I know which one should go in the CS.
Also, could someone possibly summarize what has happened in the RP thus far? There aren't too many posts, but they're long (something I am not normally opposed to) and a bit overwhelming to read through in that kind of numbers, and I figure past events would probably play a role in not only how I describe my character, but how I should introduce it into the story.

Very well, thank you... I think (newbie...? Well, I suppose that in this RP I am). In that case I will start putting real effort into making a character, once there's any effort to spare. I do have one more question before I feel fully prepared to write a character sheet: is it obligatory to include a picture in the appearance-part of the sheet, or is it optional?

I think it's by now safe to say that sartorous wasn't all that interested in this RP, considering how long it's been. I'll leave his character in the OP for a little longer, but I don't think I'll wait much longer before I write a post that advances events for Jillian/Gerald; the RP can't wait forever.
Speaking of which, any estimation as to when one could expect a new post for the Zerul-team, Merc? Rhaevnn?

Greetings. I noticed this RP mainly because my friend cthulu has been active here and was curious as to what had managed to catch her interest, and in the week's time that has passed since then I've read the OP and various character sheets, and I've - without even reaching a final decision as to my interest in the RP - even spent quite some time doing research on various mythical lore from around the world in trying to design a character.
Now as much fun as it is to create and breathe life into a character, I decided that it was really a pointless exercise unless I actually decided whether I would be using it in the first place. And so I decided to ask whether you are interested in an additional player for this RP? The OP doesn't mention whether it is open or closed to new applications, so I figured I better ask. The concept seems different from what I usually RP - which can be good, I enjoy a little experimentation when it comes to my writing - but interesting, and cthulu has assured me that it's quite enjoyable and that the players are a relatively pleasant bunch. If you will have me, I might start working on a character in honest.

You're just about right about that, Shien; unconscious creatures do move their souls to the Spirit Realm while asleep, only in this case they are indeed unconscious, and thus don't dream but merely soak in the abundant energy of the Plane. There is another difference, though: since the creature would be unconscious, meaning that not even its subconscious mind would be active to form a dream, the creature would not be in a dream in the Spirit Realm. Instead they would go to the part of the Spirit Realm referred to as the Psyche, which has other rules applying to it than the dreams... such as other creatures being able to go there through the raw Spirit Realm and, as discussed in our recent PMs, unlike in a dream, if one dies in the Psyche one dies in Reniam as well. So in addition to the purely medical dangers of unconsciousness, one can also be killed in the Spirit Realm in the Planes.

Very nice, Ashgan, although now I can't help but to wonder how Jillian came to learn this Orphid's spell... which is furthermore a compound spell, which makes it all the more impressive. I've added the link to the OP.

And yeah, I know - and mentioned earlier, I think - that it's not easy or even productive to play as an unconscious character, and I was actually working on a post to advance events on that side of the story some more and end on a time-wise loosely defined point that I hoped would allow Jillian to wake up and rejoin the world of the living, but then sartorous found the RP and requested permission to rejoin it... and since his character was in the same scene as Jillian and Gerald and is thus affected by the same progression of time, I can't move ahead significant periods of time without knowing what his character is doing.
...We haven't heard from him since he announced his return, though, and it's been almost a week already, despite my asking for him to make his continued presence known. If this is the kind of interest we can expect, I may not be willing to continue to wait for him for much longer. So once again, sartorous/Ink: show us that you are actually interested in the RP enough to at least check the OOC thread regularly after trying to return to it.

Everyone else, please don't contact him directly and urge him to check this thread or anything. I want to test his actual dedication to the RP, and if it is truly this lacking, he may not be welcome anymore.

Oh I didn't mean that he couldn't use the same character, just that the character would probably have to be reintroduced into the scene since it currently doesn't appear anywhere specific there.

I'll also need Salas' CS reposted... come to think of it, has Jillian's CS been posted on this forum yet? I don't seem to have linked a CS to her entry in the OP (I'm also missing i'on's, by the way).

Sure, I guess... but I'm afraid you'll sort of have to rejoin it, since events have continued since last time you were active in the RP, and the situation you left your character in doesn't exist anymore (the Wyrmslayer has moved on and the battle has moved into its final stage). You're welcome to rejoin, but unfortunately you can't very well just pick up where you left off.
