I'm still getting used to doing digital art, so my shading is either bad or non existent.
I'm a lot better at doing traditional art.

I tried doing that myself, and succeeded, but I liked the texture on the traditional drawing better.

You can use a hyphen, but an EM Dash (— or two hyphens --) indicate that something was cut off. This is getting into higher levels of grammar, so either don't worry about it or use two hyphens, --. It's no big deal, really, and we can figure out what you're doing based on context.

A "=" can also be used to continue the second half of something. It's only really used to refer to the character set to an account if the account is using multiple in the post. But that does make it more clear. And thank you, grammar is important.
