Current When going to the abyss, you must ask yourself, "am I still sane?" constantly.

what do you do when you are both mildly sad, and mildly happy all the time?

That's pretty cool I guess.

<Snipped quote by Darlit Glitch>

No, I'm saying what if he does? Did he suddenly become a poor magician?

No, I do suppose you have a point, but even so, it's not habit for him to do so.
<Snipped quote by Darlit Glitch>

Oh? How so?

Since you can't always count on having a bunch of power to draw from, most magic uses precision to achieve it's results, instead of brute force.
Let's say he uses magic to turn off the lights, he can do it in a few ways.
*starts counting out on fingers.*
One. He can compress the air above or below the switch and release it in a focused burst to move it.
Two. Mess with the gravitational effects on the switch to make it move.
Three. Bend space to make it closer.
And so on.
But all of these require at lease a decent amount of power to achieve, and oftentimes magic users are targeted right after they're done with giant spells. So if he get's attacked after a huge experiment the next day, he's not likely to have much energy left, and the energy that he used to turn off that light could deflect a bullet or create a distraction, giving him time to live and recover.
It's the reason why most of the careless magic users are dead, because they aren't prepared for such situations, making them powerless and physically unable to protect themselves.

What if the best magic user in the world is just really tired and he doesn't want to get up to turn off the lights?

He does it anyway, because those that just use their magic without thought end up without it when they need it.
Besides, he didn't become the best by being lazy.
<Snipped quote by Darlit Glitch>

Which wouldn't happen if you walked instead of ghosted.

*Looks annoyed.*
I wasn't trying to get anywhere, I had finished the spell and tested it without turning off one of the last protective spells.
If i want to go anywhere, i walk, if i want a sandwich, i make it myself.
I don't rely on magic for such petty things, that's the mark of a poor user.
<Snipped quote by Darlit Glitch>

It's usually not risky... for me, at least. I have to be more careful around others, though.

Why's that?
<Snipped quote by Darlit Glitch>

Basically, yeah. I speed up gradual processes and apply a chaotic tinge of randomness to it all to get more random effects. And I usually execute my powers with instruments.

Sounds useful and risky at the same time.
<Snipped quote by Darlit Glitch>

I just meant walking.

When i said i was suck halfway through the floor, i meant that i had fallen into the floor, up to my stomach.

<Snipped quote by Darlit Glitch>

Chaos with a tinge of order--part of the balance between chaos and order. It's based on the idea of change. Generally, it involves speeding up natural processes, but it can take other forms.

So it's like the mutation of the object's natural state?
<Snipped quote by Darlit Glitch>

I'm the Lord of Chaos. Strange stuff is basically my shtick, except if I'm using Harmonic Chaos.

Well, that does explain it, but, harmonic chaos?
<Snipped quote by Darlit Glitch>

That wouldn't happen if you used physics.

I don't think I can mess with physics the way you guys can.
But I can do it through magic.
<Snipped quote by Darlit Glitch>

Because it would be soft and edible, but wouldn't necessarily fall apart.

Um... ok...
*Looks a bit weirded out.*
