This is my idea...
instead of having people come in, present a character, and when the game ends or the character dies, they all go their separate ways. End of story. Instead we get a group of gamers together... some people say "Hey, I was thinking of running this game." We all decide what to play together, and we go from there. However, when this game ends or a character dies we treat it just like a face to face game. We say "so what are we playing next?"

See what I did there? Instead of everybody walking away because the game is pivotal, it is the group that is pivotal now.

So why am I on here recruiting? First of all, I suck at selling things, my games, my characters, myself. Secondly, I don't know if it is just me and a run of bad luck but I keep encountering 4 scenarios. This is over the span of dozens of applications and months of waiting and working and trying to get something going.

So, enough on recruiting for games. That isn't working out, and enough for applying to games, that isn't working out. So, let's just focus on meeting some new respectable people and decide where to go from there.

As for me, it really doesn't matter what we are playing. (I say that, but I don't play horror or tabletop at all.) I'm game for anything because this really isn't a pivotal life decision here, it's a game. I don't have a story that HAS to be told, and I don't have a character I HAVE to play. Some of the best games I've been in are ones that I had no control over character creation.

So, playing? Sure, I'm cool with that.
Running a game? I'm cool with that too.

So, here are some ideas on what I can GM for you guys if
Fantasy Rising: Somewhat generic fantasy, but I find that D&D straight up isn't as fun since you have to be pretty educated in the Encyclopedia Arcana (aka 3.5 edition)
Rift Runners: Sci-Fantasy with modern characters from earth traveling to fantastic places.
Superheroes (I prefer Marvel, but I am better equipped at handling DC)
Alpha Zone: Science Fiction band of misfits in which the characters are trying to go big or go home.
Elf Dawn: This is a comedy game in which characters are about equal to Christmas Elves in a Lord of the Rings kind of world.
Something Else: I am super creative and have been generating new worlds, environments, plots, etc for about 25 years now.

We can do free-form, or we can use a rules system. (I have my own creation as well if anybody wants to give it a go.)

In addition I am willing to play just about anything so long as I am surrounded by the right folks.
So, how's about it? Let's get some introductions some blabbering (and the whole friendship making thing) and some votes on what we want to play.
I will not be joining any of you. Enjoy your game.
@Hellis Dude, nobody here are mind readers. You asked for a character sheet, didn't say where you want it, drop out of communication for a while, and then command people to do it your way.
Now, I make character sheets concise for quick reference. You mentioned nothing about a writing sample and have just assumed that everybody does things your way.

You also shut down Heyitsjiwon even though in your own rules you establish "you don't have to pick any of the examples. I have not defined the world much outisde the citys closest vicinity for a reason!" Implying that we are free to be as creative as we like. Yet, you seem to have some preconception of what you expect since you are correcting those who wander off the path you prefer.

So, I will let you figure things out and how to communicate it, but I'm not going to do a bunch of work in hopes that I somehow hit the jackpot of what you have in mind. Please communicate to us what you expect and stick to it. THEN we will be able to give you what you are looking for.
Updated the appearence for you @hellis
Well, I think it's safe to say that we are the ones that outlast.

I would like to invite you all to my game because I know you aren't going to dump me.

Okay, so here are a few things.
1) No, this is not a fan game. This world is my own creation, and my own ideas.
2) I am looking for players who wanting to treat this game as a game (as in hang out with your friends and not be bored) instead of a proclamation of their lives or a begrudged "I'll do this until I have something to do."

Post length I really don't have any set posting length. I have seen great posts be pages long and one line, likewise I have seen posts that have been volumes long that don't advance the plot at all. All I ask is that you have your character actually DO something when you post... and no, observing and thinking do not really count. I only mention this because I have seen plenty of players write themselves into corners because they are unwilling to commit to action or follow other people's lead.

Posting Frequency Ideally I would like at least 1, from someone in our game, every day of the work week(5 days a week.) However, I won't get on people for posting more. I really would like to avoid 1 post every 2 days, that just makes a game crawl and it is just too little to remain fun.

Players I'm looking for players (3-6 of them, but we can deal if people are seriously wanting in) who are interested in settling into a nice long game that they can slowly build their characters and get to know each other. Honestly, I'm looking for some friends who pass the time of their boring lives playing with me and others.

ON SALE Right now we need to get the game started, this requires a few elements in order to get it going. Here are the requirements to get the game up and running before we can tag on the extras that cannot support the plot alone.
-Proactive Character Concept (x2, though the entire group is welcome and promoted to snag one of these.)
I need a player either someone who is proactive and trying to get their world rolling a new and better direction or...
A "Forgotten" (someone with memories of the here and now, but these memories are jumbled and distorted) experiencing huge culture shock and inadvertently (or intentionally) leading these people to something better than their backward practices.

Broken Utopia

A clan based fantasy roleplaying game

Back at the dawn of the age, there were powerful beings given authority over the world. The daughters of the stars, the sons of the air, the daughters of the water, the sons of earth, and the daughters of the fires beneath the earth. Each union lead to the birth of a race. All analigus unions were just fine. However, two were warned against long ago, and were forbidden. It happened anyway. Thus the Adego and the Tapurim were born, and shunned.

It is now the dawn of civilization... The idea of nationality is a radical concept on the fringes of the minds of philosophers, metal is a super material possessed by the wealthy and technologically advanced. Stone and wood weapons are the most common. There is no law, only blood relation. This is the birthplace of a world, and it is messed up. The clans (interrelated kin) pillage and raid and war against each other, vying for dominance, slaves, wealth, and revenge.

Like it or not, this is the world. You can choose to do nothing and allow one clan murder all of the others, or you can stand up and stop it... but how? There is a terrible disease that afflicts many and few survive, but of those that awaken again hold memories and thoughts of a greater world where the magics of the current broken utopia are an afterthought. The social and philosophical views alone are potent, but the potential of the technologies are frightening. Met with skepticism and fear, but also temptation for dominance or progress, these few “Forgotten” are world shapers, but will their knowledge bring ruination or unification. That... I believe, is your decision.

Hey, thanks for all of the hard work @beyond visions I really appreciate the whole thing, just wish we got to get to the meat of the story. Honestly, I think we can keep playing with the small group we currently have. I just don't stick around games when nobody has posted for weeks or days. I'm game if everybody else is.

If you aren't up for GMing, I am planning on running a Fantasy soon if you guys are looking for a game to stick with for a while.
No one knows what really happened to Emmett that day, but he remains a legend of the Whispering Badlands even until now. Of course they survived the rogue attack, and that remains another mystery as to their intent. The journey out of the badlands was pretty uneventful from that point. Rook was of course out of sorts, and the others were thoroughly confused, however, all were glad when the rough green grasses were crunching under foot instead of the soft sand. And that sight, oh that wonderful sight of civilization, made their weary hearts sigh in relief with a newly-dawned appreciation for their lives. They determined to never allow any such oversight happen to their perspective again.

So... for better or for worse, they all lived happily ever after.

The End.
I would give this a go.
