Our local furry is a dude who wears big fluffy fox ears and a fox tail. He legally changed his name to "Mr. Fox" and carries around a raccoon hand puppet that he talks to.I kept hearing stories of him until one day I went to see a movie and he was in the audience. The really fucked up thing is, he is married. Not sure how. She didn't look like a fox anyhow.

My last brush with local furries was with some highschool kids walking around in full-on fur suits. They came into the store because they needed a screw to fix their Naruto head bands.

My Dad didn't know what to think of them and excused them as mascots. I found the experience too awkward to do anything but stand far back.

Nuclear defense is pretty tricky, but in less ways than you'd expect. The intense shit gets washed out by the rain within the first couple of weeks, and you can hang out outside in your MOPP suits after that happens and start like, pressurewashing the ground to get everything else out. I don't remember an exact procedure, but I can research.Fallout is just radioactive particles in the dirt. Once you clear that away there's not too much of a problem. Probably can't plant food and stuff, but you can walk around. Hell, most of Chernobyl right now is able to be hung out in, and has been for a while. That's our case study.

VICE did a documentary on the old Soviet testing grounds in Kazakhstan. You might have watched it, since I think you follow them about as well as me (or that's Hugs) so I won't go into details for you.

But for the rest: the Polygon testing grounds in northern Kazakhstan was where the Soviets tested a lot of nuclear weapons. I think they basically tested all their nukes there, where as with us we sort of spread it all out in maybe five places, or jointed them with our allies. There's lingering radioactive effects that do cause genetic mutations or higher risk of such things. But you can walk around there with only your shoes covered. The dangerous part of the radioactivity is in breathing the dust.

Also Vodka is the approved Russian protection against radiation, as a fun did-you-know. You could call it the RL Rad-X.

A Nuclear Spring. Oh god how cool would that be?Sure, everything is dry and desilated, but I would think it be cool if there was a state where the bombs turned everything nature-y into something that tries to kill you.

An argument could be made that over two-hundred years would be enough time for at least the hardier trees to come back. Most of the very deadly radiation tends to decay rather quickly.

.EDIT: In retrospect, the events surrounding Sweet Gin's progression towards meeting with the crew are also probably important if only for the story of how a Commonwealth Android linked up with the team. If you don't want to read the entire 121 pages, you might consider going through and cherrypicking out Aaron's posts.

Ohhh shit china and japan joining the fray, there goes the neighborhood:p

I may be missing greater context... but...

> Backwards ass unmodernized China
> Just as well Japan
> Destroying Russia

Try not to make me laugh. Both states should be catatonically backwards. Japan's a lot closer, but China wasn't really "modern" until the Second World War at least. Even against the awkwardly dead-fished Russian military.

Well, he is a ghoul, and they existed before the bombs, so, maybe the US Government grabbed a ghoul and did some sort of experiment on him. Robco used criminals robobrain production, after all. surely the government could use a human if they wanted. That would make him over 200, though, so he'd have to have quite a bit of backstory.

>Ghouls existing prewar.

wat

And most pre-war cyborgs haven't been large-scale rebuilds of something's body outside of animal experiments, if those are pre-war. The minimum of pre-war cybernetic research operates more on the brain-in-a-jar basis and that they had more a grasp on neural interfacing than anything else. And even if Big Mountain hasn't gotten passed the animal stage with cyber dogs we can probably assume that cybernetics outside there is such an oddity they're best relegated to what Terminal has noted: as being end-game bosses.

And without a bio or anything the character lacks any context which only makes it worse. But on face-value with the abilities and perks it seems like too much.
