I sincerely hope you know any IC thread made gets a free OC half, right? This just feels like a wasted thread here, and I'm deeply confused about it existing here.

In so far as I've found no one really limits their characters in free. So I don't know where you're getting at there. Everyone usually ends up getting described as some teenage super-model, intelligent and misunderstood geek, or benevolent god-type. Ya'll need more character archtypes.

And in-so-far as it matters from my end beautiful things would have happened if the rock climbing wall was to be a disaster.

A circle jerk isn't necessarily healthy since you just keep recycling things. So without being exposed to new content - whatever the quality - you don't get to broaden yourself. Nor can others.

And it's not like Free has a maximum skill cap anyways. This sort of concept is only really there a social barrier between the role-playing castes of casual to advanced.

Sometimes no one really notices. Other times they basically doom themselves.

Most of the time I try to RP as much as I can as far from them as possible, re-adapting their world to my vision and in-all trying to encourage folk to do better by doing it myself. This is especially easy when the world is very empty and needs - or demands - a lot slathered onto the canvas to dress it up; or it just gives me a lot more room to explore than RPs with a better and more complex drafted world. It's what I like to go far, open canvasses to spill myself onto among others so the world becomes more of a communal dream and less one build brick-per-brick by someone else.

And no one in NRP is offering this anymore. Gotta gimmick it all up too.

Is it me or are there barely any RPs that I'm interested in?

More often than not I have to go down to the Free Section to look at the god awful RPs there. Because chances are something will be so vanilla and goofy I can't help but have something to throw into it and watch the gears rattle.

The closest I've come to playing as a pre-existing, not-mine original character was someone that was already treated among her fans as being whatever-the-hell-you-want. The ongoing thread from whence she's from preaches a considerably laisez faire canon to any character, there's often some consistency between interpretation; but no one would give a shit if they're any different from an "accepted" personification.

I now find myself wondering why there's so many NRP's trying to throw in as many gimmicks into their RP as possible. I honestly can not see myself finding any way of using this to do much of anything.
