Well that sounds like fun; I should visit another country some day. Get out and see new parts of the world. It'd be fun, and it's a pity it's so expensive.

I went to New Orleans for five days this passed year. It's an awesome place to be. Great music, food, and beer (of course). Post-mardi gras and pre-summer NOLA is a good time to be there.

Even if it was overcast the full five days.

But anyway, I suppose I won't be creating a new nation after all. I managed to get the culture section done for Hanartha; and anyone looking to use marriages for political purposes with the Hanarth will be sorely disappointed. :D

You say this like you're giving up, then continue like you're staying true. What is it!? :P

Also, I doubt people would have gone for marriages to that effect anyways. In my experience in this genre I haven't seen anyone pursue and fill out marriages between rulers or even the royal families. Even if as a way to allow them to step out from the RP for good by effectively signing two nations over to one in a personal union.

I went to New Orleans for five days once. That was killer. Even if it was an overcast it was a beautiful trip, with great food, music, and beer.

You say that like you're giving up, then continue like you're not. I'm sorely confused :P.

And I don't think anyone will really push political marriages in this. In my experience in this genre of RP no one's interested in the implications or leaving the fate of their nation to one birth and assassination. Nor has anyone decided that as a way to leave they'll pit their nation into a personal union with another.

Hi, all! I'm backI want to thank everyone for staying so long. Especiall Dinh AaronMK - You've done superbly.

Well, the time-skip between this thread and the last wasn't much a matter of a few years and more a few months. I forget the specifics, but we certainly left the old RP in 1980 and picked back up here in May of the same year. So there's that, could either have that compressed given the chaotic political window between then and now given the Sultan's sudden death and the current state of Precipice, or it could play out over long with - if you want - Palestine picking up with the "cold war" between them and Syria.

Bitch please, God came to me when I was twelve and was all, "Nigga I can make you have swagger and not be a faggot. You want?"

And then I said "yes" and I was twenty.

Well, I wasn't completely sure where the RP is at, so I just put that as a broad term. I just meant to bring them up to par with the average of the world, though with maybe a slightly more advanced navy, since it would be really easy for them to observe Chinese warships and use them as a base when making their own. Japan doesn't really need to have jet tech asap, especially since I just took the nation out of isolation again.

The general premise of current tech could be appropriately described as being RL 1950's, or late 40's.

Chinese warships were designed off of Japanese warships, given the capture of the station in Dalain. So apart from size the two navies could be regarded as 1:1. Helicopters exist, but at the same time jets are not homogeneous: only a few nations with the surviving industrial base have been able to build them, America and Spain. China built their jet technology off of American design following a brief clash with the US military and air force when they tried to retake the Philippines.

And by and large jets in these three nations are pretty much flying like their propeller counterparts and fancy Top Gun targeting computers aren't a thing, even to the Chinese who developed the instruments needed for such things for their lazy-ass space program.

So, that's sort of the base for things right now.
