Interested indeed! I love alternate history, I actually came from NationStates' forums. What is the state of colonialism in the ATL 1980s? Also, what of the former "Great Powers" of Britain, France, Germany, Italy and the like? If possible and if it is free from British rule, I'd love to play as India. What would be their history if they are free?

Britain went through a political revolution that pretty much killed all their colonies and the commonwealth states in the 1950's. To make long-story short: Anarchists happened, then despotism, then they got the Prince Charles on the throne through convoluted something.

France is still a Great Power, Germany is too and back under a Kaiser, and Italy is Spain's bitch.

Per India, they had a sort of semi-successful Republic that crashed and Russia'd for five years. China went in to pick up the pieces, and then Persia tried to do the same with Brazilian assistance. Ultimately in the end creating the Federation of India at a peace conference. The north is pretty much Communist where the South is less-so, but both are supposed to work as one unit and not get involved in Chinese or Persian affairs.

In the end we got a rather incomplete Wiki that may not be up to date with the revisions.

Oh woe the west for it to have fallen so low.

It has come to the attention of my peers and fellows who come from the same forum as I that it's time to haul an RP three years of age into new pastures. Having lived for two years on the Minecraft Forums - until we got uneasy with the mods who started moving in mysterious ways - and a year before that on the Official Spore forums; until many of us were usurped by the mods. This pet project of my friends and I is set over twenty-years of alternate history, with a already well-written lore. And many of us are here now.

But what is this? Precipice of War. After a series of turns in the First World War the world came out a different and more bruised place. The Great War had no successor, and only went down as that. It carried on for eleven years, making it an even greater war. And on top of it all? It solved virtually nothing.

Some land had been switched. Alascea-Lorraine to France, colonial influence shifted, and the Empire of Russia remained an Empire after quashing the October Revolution and the Bolshevik Novemberists when the czar ceded to his critics and withdrew from the war. The Great Dragon of the east - China - has stirred and awoken from its mighty slumber, and with Europe all the same distracted with itself and weakened has come to be a challenger. And the mantle of the free world is now held by an arguably psychopathic, cocaine-addicted Spaniard with dreams of world conquest.

This is Precipice of War. Twenty Years of actively written lore among devote followers of its own. And we have decided to move into here, and maybe get some new blood as we're given the means to write freely for more years to come.


I'm AaronMk, and I've been in PoW since its inception on the Spore Forums when it was lead by Gorgenmast, friend of mine. I had inherited it by popular vote, and since than I've been its head for the very greater part of its life. I have seen its bullshit, and overseen us straightening it out as we push ahead. And by the point we get it up here, we should have it all nice and shiny.

The RP'll begin in 1980. But it will be a different 80's as we remember. Technology is still far behind with computers faring about as well as they have since the 60's IRL. Only two powers have seen and conceived space: Spain and China. The US is in a state of disarray given its politics over the last twenty+ years and an usurper Great Power is rising in the Amazon.

Russia as we know it, or knew it, is dead and gone. Political disaster following the assassination of the czar by Finnish Nationalists has left the region broken and in chaos. Much if indirectly controlled or influenced by the Mafiya, a strange collective of criminal armies presiding over Western Russia and Western Siberia, where the fledgling Russian Republic tries to cling on.

Rock music is unheard of, these cities were not built on Rock and Roll, and fuck Hitler and Stalin.
