As Ruby arrived a dark shape would pass beneath the pale moon, a brief, eerie squawk trilling overhead. Were Ruby to glance up, she'd be able to see a large black vulture circling high above her. Upon looking across the dojo with her thermal scanner, the thief might be surprised to find the red glowing shape of a figure staring right back at her, squatting less than twenty yards away in plain sight. Somehow the target had known she was coming. No insects chirped, no wind blew, no wood creaked. The venue had become shrouded in a heavy, unnatural silence.

Appearance: Zande is a tall, lean man whose musculature is best likened to that of a starved jaguar. The dense, tube-like muscles adorning his long arms and legs allow him to exude a great air of physical prowess despite his thin and wiry look. Unwashed dreadlocks hang over lurid, amber eyes whilst high cheekbones accentuate his abnormally sized jaw muscles, the feral aspect pushed even further by sharp, filed teeth. He often wears the skulls of recent victims upon his belt and is rarely seen without his rubber padded, steel clawed boots and black steel tribal mask. Zande's cape, however, is by far his most recognizable feature. A clearly visible skull and crossbones is sewn upon the ratty black cloak, neatly surmising the headhunter's affiliation with bones and death.

Physical Abilities/Skills: Zande's untamed strength is far greater than his appearance would suggest, albeit reasonably less than that of a formidable professional weightlifter. He can wrestle and subdue wild beasts with just his bare hands and overpower a stronger opponent through pure tenacity. These traits greatly pale in comparison to his incredible biting and striking power. He can and has killed men with a single punch, and never neglects to train his jaws by chewing through blocks of wood and chunks of rubber, being capable of chomping clean through an unhusked coconut with a single bite. The magnitude is most impressive near the back of his molars, where he can leverage out enough brute force to rival the PSI of a dire wolf. Equally impressive is Zande's great speed and agility, which his lean body is practically built for. He can scurry up and down trees in the blink of an eye and move with a silent swiftness that puts to shame his native brethren. He can amplify the potency of his physical capabilities by consuming a special potion, which grants him animalistic power at the cost of sanity and health (I.E, internal bleeding).

And so ended a fight both very short and anticlimactic. Hmm? Boring, you people say? Shut up, not every dispute between metahumans ends in bloodshed. As the knight went over to the water, Gonad crossed his arms and nodded with sagely approval at the defilation of the clearly offensive sign. Why, if any bloke could just plant a piece of board marking ownership over something, what sort of world would it be? Surely one of greed and people running about with signs and shit. Who needed 'em. Whilst Daniel fished, Gonad started making a barbarian style fire. That is to say, he didn't really know how to make a fire so he just picked up a pointy little stick to poke the poopy guts out with. Sushi tonight baby.

Gonad had expected the knight to bring up his blade. After all, there were only so many options one could execute from such a position and the Lord of the Rising Sun had seen them all (except the explosive shield bit). Unlike the gun-toting, spell-flinging combatants from most universes, Gonad had come from a realm where shields and swords were not only common, but used by virtually every able-bodied humanoid in the country. Yes, even children. It wasn't a very safe or sane place. Regardless, he was pleasantly surprised to see that his opponent more than matched up to the elite Spartan-like warriors of Gielinor. Gonad duly noted that Daniel's small body contained much more power in it than most.

Gonad would release his grip upon the shield the moment he had seized the knight's bicep, snapping his left forearm up to smack away the blade as it darted towards his chin before attempting to roughly jerk the knight closer whilst slipping behind him (maintaining that grip on the shield arm), the general idea being to get at the fellow's back. Even if Daniel's strength could match Gonad's, his lesser body weight wouldn't allow him to easily resist. If Gonad were able to reach this position, then he himself would pause so as to allow conversation. Gonad too had a secret weapon that he preferred not to use. A remorseless technique, mocked and parodied by many but rarely understood for the true lethal impetus it possessed. The German Suplex. Often deadly if used by a common man. Mortal transience incarnate when used by Gonad. Whether or not he succeeded in his positioning, Gonad would still bellow out a boisterous answer to the man's words. He really didn't seem to have an indoor voice.

Upon concluding this reply the large man would release Daniel and step back. If the knight spoke the truth, then chances are the match would end in a draw due to both warriors being so damned friendly.

Background~ In the darkest depths of a savage jungle wilderness, shrouded in dread Congo secrets beneath a sky of eternal blackness, there existed a tribe of maneaters. One would think that there would be no bottom amidst the depths of their depravity. Yet, a young boy native to this landscape of monsters found it. The word "bloodthirsty" is often thrown about. However, no other description of Zande holds so true. He was exiled from his village for exceptional reasons and became a freelance mercenary and bandit leader, feared across the land.
