I already did an earlier introduction, but this is something one could always see, so let's roll.
Serene is the pen name that I use over on my old G+ account, which if you're able to find the account before the site shuts down, is Serene Selphia, but no fancy url, lol. But to those I'm close enough to, my nickname is Chris, and if I ask you to not use it, its nothing personal, I'm just not ready for that level of friendliness. That isn't to say I'm not a friendly person, just that I can be a bit professional when it comes to stuff. I've been rping since like...2011 I think? If I could find the Minecraft rp forums I started on(yes those were a thing, it was actually full of good rpers, but all good things come to an end of course), I'd have a precise date.
I roleplay a lot of things, well, that was the old system. About four years back, I settled down in a roleplay community on G+ called Temple of Glory, and began to stick to just one character who I kept working on, using other characters as I felt the need. That was my current primary character's father, a character I'll call the Professor for now, as I intend to post a version of his character sheet later. Probably when doing so wouldn't spoil what became of him in a storyline. Anyway, after a point I burned out as him, and switched focus to his daughter, who I use primarily in the old roleplay hub I come from. The Good Doctor, and here, no spoilers, mostly because ahaha, I'm shy about that.
I love a lot of series, but my heart goes out mainly to Rune Factory, Sonic, Mega Man, Metroid, Mario, Pokemon, and Duel Monsters. Especially Rune Factory and Sonic, though lately I've fostered a love for the Nasuverse, Fate Grand Order is a fun time. I love to read a variety of things, and I'm always online unless sleeping, so feel free to drop me a line if you need it. While I'm relatively new to the site here, I'm an rp veteran, and a skilled writer, as you'll see whenever I post the Doctor's current profile.
Ah right, more on me. I'm a college senior presently, I just had my capstone for my history degree wrapped up, and I'm proud of my progress. While I am a loner by nature(I mean my writing often keeps me trapped in my room to meet paper deadlines), I'm still a sociable person, and if you can't reach me here, my Discord is Serene Selphia#1064. So I suppose that's a bit of a spoiler, but to who, I won't say. Just be forewarned, if you ask me about a character of mine, there's a risk I'll write a lot, so make sure you're totally fine with that.
In terms of roleplay, while I do mainly fantasy/science-fiction, I can roll with just about anything(as far as I know), but if I tell you its not working for me, don't take it personally. I'm a fairly detailed writer, and in terms of style, I'm good with both combat and non-combat related narratives, I mean, my current main was built for combat initially, whereas her father is more the sociable type. The most detailed things tend to when I describe the world around, or when writing profiles for characters I adore. Basically, if I'm in tune or really love something, you could get a lot. I once wrote about twenty pages on a google doc in two hours because I loved it so much. Weird flex sure, but you can understand it. I don't look for much in rp partners, so long as you can write me enough that I understand either what you're doing, or what's going on, I'm usually good. I'll generally drop a line if I need more information.
I love learning, so if you ask me about something, and I don't have an answer, I'll gladly take the time to do at least a basic amount of research. And if you're ever stumped for ideas, drop me a line, I'm always glad to help fellow veterans or the newer folk. Heck, at one point for a friend's group I wrote an entire(albeit unused) document full of random plot ideas for the group drawn from throughout film and video games. Point is, if you need someone to talk to, unless I'm in a bad mood, or its a bad time(aka I'm about to go to bed, or in class), I'm always up for at least a quick chat. I do take commissions, so if you want a fanfiction written, give me a holler, or if you just want a custom story about a character of mine, or just ask for them to give their input on something in a non-serious setting. Still debating what to set prices for, or if I work totally free...I mean I should charge something, but anyways, wew, talk about a ramble, eh?
I do have three "hero" ideas I could go with. A hero known for Artificing(as that's a class I'm super familiar with to an extent), a hero known for artillery/siege weapons from the middle ages back, and I had the third one, but its slipped my mind. Being tired isn't fun. If I remember the third, I'll get back to you.

While everyone else who had spoken thus far seemed quite fine with introducing themselves, well, the nameless trooper had become deathly silent, simply staring. Everyone else had...names? They must have committed great deeds or be quite old to have earned them. She took in a breath, then slowly let it out, despite having no need to breath, it helped to steady her artificial pulse that was racing.
"I'm uh...an aerial observation robot, I monitor things from high up, and return this information to the Hive. Or would if I was connected to them..." She trailed off, having given no name, nothing beyond what she did, which was basically...a glorified unmanned drone. That was a good way to describe her. Not that she wasn't a person with feelings and a soul, as she did have one, just that...she had no name, she wasn't worthy of that. Perhaps she never would earn it. She could become more specialized, but without one or two upgrades from home, she'd need...a lot of time. She coughed nervously, wondering what would happen next. She was ready to use her gun if needed, but also ready to head to the next adventure.
The sign for the city limits passed, and the falling cloud grew ever nearer, as rubber bit against asphalt, propelling the non-descript white truck onward, a hand reaching from the wheel, to tug up the electronic button that would raise the left window of her cab. Last thing she needed was to get any of that stuff onto her by chance. Serene had to, however, quickly reach over and pull the right window tab up, slowing automatically as she did so, the truck swerving a tad as she did so, while she tried to drive and close the window. Thankfully neither were that low to begin with, so it was easy. She already had an umbrella up front, and a map of the city, and the closer she got, the more she had come to realize how localized the initial blast must have been. The lack of damage on the outskirts indicated that odds were, this wasn't a larger scale attack, nor a nuke, nor an alien invasion. Course, if it had been a nuke, odds were she would have been too close to survive anyway. But still, as she drove into the more industrial part of the city, she couldn't help but scan her surroundings, turning around corners, avoiding anyone losing their collective shit, looking for something.
And then, she found it.
Above the skyline, laid an abandoned factory, or a warehouse, she wasn't sure. It would do for the moment though. She drove around to where the back should be, past the long wide open gates that would normally keep people out. Act like you own the place, besides, its just to catch your bearings. She spied a loading dock, and drove up, turning and reversing into the dock, incase she had to make a quick run for it later. Thankfully, it was covered, and it was angled in such a way that unless the winds changed, and some of the stuff that could eventually fall past started falling in, she'd be safe and dry from the strange chemical. She turned off the truck, and unlocked the doors, popping the driver's door, and hopped out. Once on the other side, she locked it to be safe, and hurried around to the ramp that led up, quickly climbing up the stairs next to it, and round to her truck's back hatch, which she opened the coverings top part, pulling out a small toolkit, which contained a crowbar, lockpick, flashlight, and of course, a go-pro. Time for some urban exploration. Hell, if she was lucky, the company who had owned this place had gone bankrupt, and perhaps, she could find a way to buy the entire place from the city if that was possible.
She pulled out a miner's helmet, and slipped it on, attaching the go-pro to the top, and once confirming it was on via checking her phone's connected app, she walked to the curiously...unlocked smaller entrance door, and looked inside, her flashlight on, as she scanned her surroundings. Nothing. Just the normal area you'd expect just beyond a loading dock, some abandoned pylons, a...forklift left by itself...curious. She danced the flashlight around, wondering just what kind of...place it had been, as she stepped inside, letting the door slid shut behind her, but not before finding a convenient rock to prop it open with, just incase. This was looking a lot more like a factory or say, meat packing plant than anything else...she figured there was bound to be a place for a foreman or someone else to live. This place did look that kind of old fashioned.
And as she set off into the darkness, she couldn't help but shudder, hoping that there wouldn't be a clan of ninjas, drug dealers, or monsters in the place's depths...she just wanted a nice place to temporarily call home. And if she was lucky as she'd thought before, she could get it all cheap, and turn at least part into a home...Onwards she goes.

@Silver Carrot Funny enough, back when I first started seriously rping, after I left the first forum I was on, I drifted from place to place, where there wasn't a dedicated system for higher ups to take care of the common rper. So while each community there was my own new take on a given template for it, I never felt like there was a reason to stick. Then I found a place that was like a Persistent World, and ended up sticking with one character, plus a few others I made over time, tweaking them as I went. Eventually that made me jump into a new chapter of a connected tale, and from there, well, eventually when we learned our site was going downhill, I cast out for solutions. Aside from the place our group of rpers ended up migrating too enmass, I came here.
And found a system similar to what I had found in my early serious rping days, but with people who actually cared about each other. So that meant a lot. It just took me adjusting a bit, since I'd been in one Persistent World type narrative for a few years. I'd always wanted to get back into the whole various narrative thing, so that's another reason to be happy here. Now if only I could work up the courage and motivation to finish a personal CS for my personal CS thread. So folks can see where I derived the various Serene Light variants from, lol.
