You ever take a look at the forum board, not see anything of ready interest, and decide to just go about your day? Figured I'd see if a new game was interesting, nope, ah well.

I already did an earlier introduction, but this is something one could always see, so let's roll.
Serene is the pen name that I use over on my old G+ account, which if you're able to find the account before the site shuts down, is Serene Selphia, but no fancy url, lol. But to those I'm close enough to, my nickname is Chris, and if I ask you to not use it, its nothing personal, I'm just not ready for that level of friendliness. That isn't to say I'm not a friendly person, just that I can be a bit professional when it comes to stuff. I've been rping since like...2011 I think? If I could find the Minecraft rp forums I started on(yes those were a thing, it was actually full of good rpers, but all good things come to an end of course), I'd have a precise date.
I roleplay a lot of things, well, that was the old system. About four years back, I settled down in a roleplay community on G+ called Temple of Glory, and began to stick to just one character who I kept working on, using other characters as I felt the need. That was my current primary character's father, a character I'll call the Professor for now, as I intend to post a version of his character sheet later. Probably when doing so wouldn't spoil what became of him in a storyline. Anyway, after a point I burned out as him, and switched focus to his daughter, who I use primarily in the old roleplay hub I come from. The Good Doctor, and here, no spoilers, mostly because ahaha, I'm shy about that.
I love a lot of series, but my heart goes out mainly to Rune Factory, Sonic, Mega Man, Metroid, Mario, Pokemon, and Duel Monsters. Especially Rune Factory and Sonic, though lately I've fostered a love for the Nasuverse, Fate Grand Order is a fun time. I love to read a variety of things, and I'm always online unless sleeping, so feel free to drop me a line if you need it. While I'm relatively new to the site here, I'm an rp veteran, and a skilled writer, as you'll see whenever I post the Doctor's current profile.
Ah right, more on me. I'm a college senior presently, I just had my capstone for my history degree wrapped up, and I'm proud of my progress. While I am a loner by nature(I mean my writing often keeps me trapped in my room to meet paper deadlines), I'm still a sociable person, and if you can't reach me here, my Discord is Serene Selphia#1064. So I suppose that's a bit of a spoiler, but to who, I won't say. Just be forewarned, if you ask me about a character of mine, there's a risk I'll write a lot, so make sure you're totally fine with that.
In terms of roleplay, while I do mainly fantasy/science-fiction, I can roll with just about anything(as far as I know), but if I tell you its not working for me, don't take it personally. I'm a fairly detailed writer, and in terms of style, I'm good with both combat and non-combat related narratives, I mean, my current main was built for combat initially, whereas her father is more the sociable type. The most detailed things tend to when I describe the world around, or when writing profiles for characters I adore. Basically, if I'm in tune or really love something, you could get a lot. I once wrote about twenty pages on a google doc in two hours because I loved it so much. Weird flex sure, but you can understand it. I don't look for much in rp partners, so long as you can write me enough that I understand either what you're doing, or what's going on, I'm usually good. I'll generally drop a line if I need more information.
I love learning, so if you ask me about something, and I don't have an answer, I'll gladly take the time to do at least a basic amount of research. And if you're ever stumped for ideas, drop me a line, I'm always glad to help fellow veterans or the newer folk. Heck, at one point for a friend's group I wrote an entire(albeit unused) document full of random plot ideas for the group drawn from throughout film and video games. Point is, if you need someone to talk to, unless I'm in a bad mood, or its a bad time(aka I'm about to go to bed, or in class), I'm always up for at least a quick chat. I do take commissions, so if you want a fanfiction written, give me a holler, or if you just want a custom story about a character of mine, or just ask for them to give their input on something in a non-serious setting. Still debating what to set prices for, or if I work totally free...I mean I should charge something, but anyways, wew, talk about a ramble, eh?
He'd been asleep when it happened. Perhaps it was mercy that his death was quick, and he'd not had to wake up to the terrible pain. But on the other hand, when they all started falling, he was groggy, only for his eyes to jolt open as air cut past. And then, the impact. That left him dazed, and somewhat knocked out. He heard the Goddess, and she seemed...nice. But he had a splitting headache, which soon began to resolve, as the lizardman lay there, flat on his back. Unlike the others, who needed a moment to realize the changes, he'd noticed at once.
"Okay...that's not normal." His vision was weird. Like, he could see more, in a wider range than previously. It was when he lifted an arm, that he noticed...he has scales. His first thought was that yes, he'd been transformed into a dragonborn or something! It was only when he looked a little closer, and started feeling his face, as he pulled himself upright, that he realized that perhaps he was wrong a tad. Sure, it wasn't a normal fantasy race that looked a bit more....appealing? Then again, at the same time, he was stronger than the average human, if he understood basic logic. This was more a lizardman, he thought. He groaned, glancing around, seeing what looked like a colorful jester girl, who was now losing her collective shit, a pervert who was clearly seeking to score with the elf, what looked like a dwarf, some sort of...witch girl? And the last one...he couldn't place. They smelled funny. Oh right, better sense of smell, perhaps?
There was also some sort of humming he could feel in his rear, but a quick check confirmed...it came from the ground. Okay, that was interesting. He took stock. A crossbow, and some sort of bag. It looked familiar, but he couldn't figure out why. Fun. He looked over the group again. Was he the only one of the school here? That...upset Henry internally. Sure, most of them were stuckup pricks, like that one kid who got in through his prestigious status, and let's be honest, that kid hitting on the girl reminded him of the other for some reason. Granted, Henry had always kept to himself, so he didn't know as much as he could about the others. But it upset him...because the thought of being that level of alone, where only you know yourself, and no others, hurt. He didn't want to be alone. If he was here, perhaps he had died or something, and that thought also scared him. But while the guy hit on the elf, and the one girl tried to help the one with arms, and the clown laughed like a pyscho...his attention turned to the last one. The witch girl. Sure, she looked scary, but Henry and her were...the most out there of their group. So unless she did something to repel him, or her mere presence was a problem, he went over, the lizardman looking towards them, his voice, while gravely and reptilian, holding a strange sort of gentleness that had any of the others known who this was, might have been startled by. This was a new world...a chance to be someone. He'd still be a writer, but for now...helping another was what mattered.
"Hey, how are you doing?" He really wasn't sure what to expect, but he held out his hand to the gothic gal, to help her up, if she needed it. Otherwise, he'd just be there, to offer aid as needed. His mind was thinking about the task laid out though. Some sort of threat. This was like a video game, a moltry crew of heroes or anti-heroes, or reformed villains. Either way, he'd do what he could, at least. First step, helping the odd one out. Besides, she couldn't be that scary underneath...it was probably just a side effect of what the goddess had done. Man, that was gonna be interesting to deal with, a goddess, rather than a god or something. Hopefully...she'd be a guiding light when they needed it, or just someone to talk to. He wasn't looking forward to the sleepless nights as he adjusted to this new form. And for a moment, he did wonder, like mister "I'm well endowed" what exactly had happened to his manhood, but he decided it wasn't worth figuring that bit of biology out just yet... So back on point, the hand, out stretched, as warm a smile as he could muster on his reptilian face, yellow eyes gazing out from the sides of his head, down at the girl. Thankfully he had some degree of balance. And could still feel that tingling sensation, but it was now just in his feet. Perhaps there was some sort of energy underground? Be worth looking into later, just what sorts of powers each person had to use. He hoped he'd gotten something useful...that bag was probably it. Right?
Man, what a bunch of misfits, poor goddess, she'd summoned a bunch of children who weren't friends already. This was going to be a steep learning curve. Especially with company on their way...
After Kai said to move close indirectly, Indy had done so, and when the teleport happened, he'd braced himself. He felt a tad woozy, in part due to the shift in location, and just how it was well, new and stuff. When it was over, he took in a breath, and slowly let it out. He nodded, half listening to what Kai said, but figuring out the gist of it. Wherever Astra now stood in the room, he'd look in her direction, before the sounds of the approaching Leedos drew his attention. Remaining silent, Indiana studied the armored titan, taking in the information, before looking back to Kai when addressed. "I follow. I don't envy you, that's some paperwork. Hell, I'm gonna have to explain to Meg the situation, if she's aware of the Guild at least...and she's probably gonna be pissed when I get back." That was something he didn't like to think about, how his NPC creation would react to the whole "oh hey that Dark Lord guy who was running around? He's actually just a really good actor, and wants to be a monster hunter instead due to a revelation." Let alone how she'd react to him being late getting back. That would be...fun. He looked back to Astra, and nodded, indicating she could lead the way. "Let's go, can't wait to see the place. That cavern sounds pretty nice too, so I might run over there to check it out. Stay safe."
So whenever Astra turned to leave, Indy would follow, humming a strange tune under his breath. If one knew their American songs...it was Country Roads. Yes, that song. Who knew why he was trying to hum it in a dragon's vocal chords, but give the guy credit, he was at least trying to adjust. And old habits die hard. Onwards to new adventures though, eh?
I wrote a hopefully alright post. I'd been sitting on it for the past day or so, and found time to write. Even included a little side story that could hint towards a MM2 plotline, if folks want to do it or something.
Desolate. That was a way to describe the breadbasket of the nation. Kansas was flat. Incredibly so. Something Rock had observed, as he rode across the state inside of a train. He was traveling with the scientist from the last lab, as they'd suggested this more scenic route, to enjoy the time, rather than constantly run. Rock had to admit, the chair he sat in was comfortable, and the technology in the train car was pretty impressive. He liked the built in TVs, which allowed him to watch the news, but in this case, a science show was on. When food was offered, he considered, then took the offer. While the Professor he was traveling with was at first concerned, Rock assured them it would be fine. He tried it, but found no real taste to it. Perhaps he lacked the needed upgrades, as he consumed the cookie. His core would burn the food up, and avoid any issues.
Eventually though, the train ride came to an end, as they arrived on the other side of Kansas, in the next state. Night had begun to fall, and Rock disembarked, offering the scientist a farewell wave, as the other had to return home. He left the station, meeting up with the next scientist, who was waiting with a car. Confirming her identity with Doctor Light via a phone call back, Rock got into the front seat, and the two drove to the lab, which stood on the edge of town. As the moon started to rise, Rock watched the world around outside, marveling at the sights. (Man...Doctor Light's right, the outside world really is beautiful! I can't wait to see New York City!)
He really couldn't wait to see the next place, and even as he settled in at the lab's sleeping area, preparing to rest, his mind raced with the thoughts of what lay ahead. Machine that he may be, Rock was a child through and through...
Side Story: The Fate of Doctor Wily?
Federal Prison was the fate of Doctor Wily for the time being. It seemed it had gone well, he had been transported to prison without a hitch. At least, that was how it seemed. But even as he sat alone in his cell, fuming, he drew on the walls, plotting, and planning. He was angry at losing to Light's little toy soldier, it angered him beyond measure. He wanted revenge, oh yes, he wanted it dearly. One way or another...he'd find a way to make Light's precious "Mega Man" pay for his insolence, and show Light up. It was only a matter of time. To the other prisoners though, he was just a delusional old man, who they left alone due to this, and to the guards, he was harmless. Just another mad man committed to the prison to keep him out of harms way. If only they knew what was to come...Doctor Wily would return, and he would have his revenge...
@QueenSabe Haha, its that stuff like "oh I died or I woke up in the video game world, oh no!" That kind of stuff. Don't lurk too hard, you'll iss out on fun rps!
It was almost impossible to notice unless close range, but the ways his lips quirked up in the faintest smile, indicated his awareness of the shift in the situation with the boy. Unlike another self, billions of worlds away, who might have known why the boy wanted to shake hands exactly, he didn't know for sure, but he had a suspicion of what it could be. Sometimes, risks had to be taken. But Chris mouthed to wait, and he seemed to be timing things. It didn't help the devil may care attitude of the undead like lifeform, but it also helped in a sense. Even as he noticed the guards starting to approach, his expression tightened ever so slightly, his hand moving just a tad closer to the boy.
The reason for waiting would soon become clear, as all hell broke loose in the form of the trio launching an assault on the guards. Chris's expression shifted, growing faintly concerned at the sight. If this was part of a trap or a suberfuge by the one behind it all, it was a good performance. But at the same time, his eyes flickered towards the people around, who did nothing to go on, taking the information in. Not good, they were either cowed, in on something he didn't know yet for sure was the case, or they had seen this before, and their reactions meant they feared reprisal. He needed more information. But in the commotion, he had his window. Even as Pox flew over his head, if he glanced down, he'd see Chris looking up for a moment, offering another flick of the eyes to indicate he'd have help. This help wouldn't the son of Ventuswill, at least not right away. Instead, his hand grabbed Ashton's. If this boy was the mole, the traitor, then he'd just taken a grave risk, but sometimes, great risks are required. Leaps of faith. Besides, he had a feeling the lad had some sort of power that required direct contact. Perhaps power share? Who knew... "Whatever you're about to do, be careful. If it involves the energy in my blood, don't use it too long, or at least, be careful." He said no more, but it was clear why he was saying it, Rune was incredibly dangerous, its intoxicating like effect on the unprepared, especially in too great a dosage for their body and mind to handle, could turn lethal for a user. But that was a matter for another time.
His gaze remained locked on Ashton's until whatever the boy had to do was complete, then Chris turned his head, looking towards the boy who sat by himself. If the two locked eyes, he'd make a head gesture. Towards the still cowed people. He needed intelligence. If any of the horrified people were nearby, Chris would lean over, and just give them a look meant to calm, the kind of trusting aura one might expect from a healer or a diplomat. His words would be whisper soft, meant to reassure, but also extract the information he needed while Ashton presumably joined the fray. For the moment, he was going to play support, even as his hands began to move slowly, performing a ritual he knew by heart. Nothing fancy, just something to heat the cuffs, and perhaps weaken them, as he began to talk to the other. "Mind filling me in on why you're looking so pale? Seen this before?" As for the fire magic he was using, Chris would keep it up, heating the cuffs more and more, while his other hand stopped using fire magic, and switched to water magic, using the coolness, to in essence, slowly expand and contract the metal, and hopefully weaken them enough to do the rest himself. Simple physics really. Hopefully the stunned person would fill him in, while Chris considered his next course of action...
Alright, sorry to be late getting back to this, was out at school commons without my laptop for a few hours.
Thanks, I was just curious, I'm keeping my hat in, so I'll see what I can come up with. Are any fantasy races permitted? Not gonna do one probably, but I'm leaning towards a technopath type character, since that's a concept I'm pretty familiar with. May just adapt an unused gal from another rp, who knows.
So basically anything goes, but the stronger the character, the more likely they may get targeted, right? So if a character's most notable trait is say, a superpower tied to intelligence or technology, would they slip under the radar, persay? Are aliens, or advanced androids accepted?
Asking since I'm just curious about what may or may not be okay. And seeing what, from my existing staples of past characters that haven't gotten off the ground, can be used for this. Should a writing sample be required, I can provide one when I get back from class.
