Current Its a fun feeling to just sit and think about what to do for responses. The flipside is feeling locked in place, waiting for another to go first on something.

You ever take a look at the forum board, not see anything of ready interest, and decide to just go about your day? Figured I'd see if a new game was interesting, nope, ah well.

Writer's block is a pain, but if I happen to owe anyone apost, I'll be working on them tonight, hopefully. Might go surfing, see if any games catch my attention.

Bio

I already did an earlier introduction, but this is something one could always see, so let's roll.

Serene is the pen name that I use over on my old G+ account, which if you're able to find the account before the site shuts down, is Serene Selphia, but no fancy url, lol. But to those I'm close enough to, my nickname is Chris, and if I ask you to not use it, its nothing personal, I'm just not ready for that level of friendliness. That isn't to say I'm not a friendly person, just that I can be a bit professional when it comes to stuff. I've been rping since like...2011 I think? If I could find the Minecraft rp forums I started on(yes those were a thing, it was actually full of good rpers, but all good things come to an end of course), I'd have a precise date.

I roleplay a lot of things, well, that was the old system. About four years back, I settled down in a roleplay community on G+ called Temple of Glory, and began to stick to just one character who I kept working on, using other characters as I felt the need. That was my current primary character's father, a character I'll call the Professor for now, as I intend to post a version of his character sheet later. Probably when doing so wouldn't spoil what became of him in a storyline. Anyway, after a point I burned out as him, and switched focus to his daughter, who I use primarily in the old roleplay hub I come from. The Good Doctor, and here, no spoilers, mostly because ahaha, I'm shy about that.

I love a lot of series, but my heart goes out mainly to Rune Factory, Sonic, Mega Man, Metroid, Mario, Pokemon, and Duel Monsters. Especially Rune Factory and Sonic, though lately I've fostered a love for the Nasuverse, Fate Grand Order is a fun time. I love to read a variety of things, and I'm always online unless sleeping, so feel free to drop me a line if you need it. While I'm relatively new to the site here, I'm an rp veteran, and a skilled writer, as you'll see whenever I post the Doctor's current profile.

Ah right, more on me. I'm a college senior presently, I just had my capstone for my history degree wrapped up, and I'm proud of my progress. While I am a loner by nature(I mean my writing often keeps me trapped in my room to meet paper deadlines), I'm still a sociable person, and if you can't reach me here, my Discord is Serene Selphia#1064. So I suppose that's a bit of a spoiler, but to who, I won't say. Just be forewarned, if you ask me about a character of mine, there's a risk I'll write a lot, so make sure you're totally fine with that.

In terms of roleplay, while I do mainly fantasy/science-fiction, I can roll with just about anything(as far as I know), but if I tell you its not working for me, don't take it personally. I'm a fairly detailed writer, and in terms of style, I'm good with both combat and non-combat related narratives, I mean, my current main was built for combat initially, whereas her father is more the sociable type. The most detailed things tend to when I describe the world around, or when writing profiles for characters I adore. Basically, if I'm in tune or really love something, you could get a lot. I once wrote about twenty pages on a google doc in two hours because I loved it so much. Weird flex sure, but you can understand it. I don't look for much in rp partners, so long as you can write me enough that I understand either what you're doing, or what's going on, I'm usually good. I'll generally drop a line if I need more information.

I love learning, so if you ask me about something, and I don't have an answer, I'll gladly take the time to do at least a basic amount of research. And if you're ever stumped for ideas, drop me a line, I'm always glad to help fellow veterans or the newer folk. Heck, at one point for a friend's group I wrote an entire(albeit unused) document full of random plot ideas for the group drawn from throughout film and video games. Point is, if you need someone to talk to, unless I'm in a bad mood, or its a bad time(aka I'm about to go to bed, or in class), I'm always up for at least a quick chat. I do take commissions, so if you want a fanfiction written, give me a holler, or if you just want a custom story about a character of mine, or just ask for them to give their input on something in a non-serious setting. Still debating what to set prices for, or if I work totally free...I mean I should charge something, but anyways, wew, talk about a ramble, eh?

Anyways, that's about it. I'll probably rewrite this as needed.
Restating ways to reach me as needed!

I appreciate the suggestions. I've been working on Discord with the fine GMs, and what I have currently is considered fine, but I might make that set of changes regarding magic and the like. Haversack I looked at, and it is pretty nice tbh. All the items the Artificer can make are.

Also the boat is always useful. Think about it, its a perfect base when you need one. And you can have the strongman of the party, if they're strong enough, throw one of the forms at an enemy. Or turn it into a land boat, for one of those antics. But yeah, I totally getcha.

Yea, everyone just seemed to up and disappeared after the holidays. Probably my fault for starting the game then, but unless the players who signed up show up and start posting again, I have to assume this is dead

Well, I'm not dead, and up to keep this going, this is an awesome idea, and just needs some more love. Perhaps reach out to the different admins involved, ask what's up? Then post new interest checks to draw attention?
I got busy, and forgot to get back to this. If no one minds, I can write something after I get back from late night, make up for my absence. Sorry for dropping the ball on my end.
A Challenger Approaches
Act 1.4: Close Encounters of the Family Kind

Location: Abandoned Factory, Industrial District
Time: Night
Mentions: Destiny Light @Silver Carrot

The lack of real lighting from overhead, minus whatever natural light filtered in, coupled with the dancing beam of her flashlight, as far as the beam penetrated into the darkness, already had begun to put Serene on edge as she'd begun to explore. She hadn't gotten far from her point of infiltration, but already her mind was racing a mile a minute, putting all sorts of ideas through her head. Ranging from the mundane like something breaking and falling, to the exotic, like a portal to hell active beneath the factory sending up a demon lord to aliens using the place as a cover for their space ship, like in Predator 2! Every sound had her gaze darting around, nervously trying to determine if that was just the sounds of the dead factory, her imagination, or something worse, like...well Freddy Kruger was in a dream world, and this wasn't a dream, and Michael Myers was...yeah. She was so caught up in thinking about it that even if Destiny had made a sound prior to the door slamming, she wouldn't have heard it. But the door slamming shut...

...She heard that alright.

"FUCK!" Serene nearly jumped out of her skin, clearly spooked, as her head whipped around at the sound of the rolling stone/rock, her arm following in short succession, the flashlight beam blazing a trail through the dark air in the wake of her movement. She was going to probably have whiplash later from the sudden head movement...but what came next was about to make such a thought pale in comparison. For as the light flew around, it caught the figure behind Serene. And as Serene turned to look, the first thing she saw was the black hair...which at once brought memories of Japanese horror films to mind. The second thing, was the pair of eyes staring back at her. This, coupled with the black hair, the silence of the person, and the overall setting...made Serene stumble backwards, slipping, and landing flat on her ass, sending up a small cloud of dust. As she had fallen back, she let out a soft screech of fear. The impact was bone jarring, sending a course of pain up her spine. Her arms flailed a tad, before she peeked through one eye, refocusing her flashlight on the person, realizing the person was...just staring at her. Not moving to attack, or anything. Hopefully the wildness hadn't blinded the other person with her flashlight being right in her face.

A million things raced through Serene's mind. Was this a trap? Were there others about to attack her, and drag her backwards into the deeper part of the factory? Or would the same happen to the woman in front of her? Who, the more Serene gazed, started to look strangely familiar. Something about the posture, coupled with the form overall. Her eyebrows scrunched together, as she tried to figure out what was going on, who was this woman? Meanwhile, she also wondered if a monster would appear behind the woman, or if her face would distort, and turn into a wailing ghost mouth thing. But suddenly, something made her drop her head, which, to anyone viewing the footage later, would make them mad, and say "if this was a horror movie, this was where looking up she'd be in your face about to bite!" Into the pocket of her tool kit her hand went, pulling out a small item, a photograph. Pulling into the camera frame showed a man, a woman, and a baby. The baby was her, at only a few months, the man, her father...and the woman, her mother. Who had supposedly died within the first year or two of Serene's life. And yet, the more she stared at the face, the more she felt that there was some sort of connection between this woman in the photo...and the one before her. She looked back up, the camera rising with her, as she took in a breath, the air hiking in her throat as she did so. Hair color was different, so were the eyes, but the rest...it was too uncannily similar to just be chance. Her pulse was racing, her other hand, the one with the flashlight, was trembling, the same as the rest of her, as she stared ahead, at the woman before her...as her lips parted, and a single word made its exit, hanging in the air, Serene frozen in place after speaking, as if the mere saying of the word had petrified her.

"M-Mom?"

A single word. Stuttered out, but holding a myriad of emotions to it. Confusion, fear, wonder, excitement. So many thoughts. Was this all a mirage, a trick of the light, a grand prank by someone? Or was this...really her mother? She'd always accepted the story as a child, never questioning the specifics of her mother's death, and even if she had wanted to, her chances dropped to nill after her father died. Only he had known the specifics. And it was doubtful her grandmother would have permitted it, given what she herself knew about her son's activities...in the Old World. Still, could one blame Serene for being shocked at such a sight? A ghost of her past, brought to life, at a moment when she felt alone the most. Providence, perhaps, a guiding angel in her time of need. Not like she could have expected eyes like those. Initial shock aside...part of Serene kinda liked them, they looked badass. But for now, she was motionless, waiting for some sort of response from the figure before her.
Yeah, I'm tracking with the whole not being D&D based. That's partly why I didn't go directly for standard Artificer. I'll make fixes when I can, not feeling tip top. I'll be on Discord in a moment though!
Something I forgot in my last post, but if you have any suggestions for more attacking based stuff, all ears.

I sometimes get a one track mind when it comes to writing up CSes lol.
@ERode@Versa

Didn't get notified before, terribly sorry to be late here. Anyways, I can add the Lizardman description with ease.
As for offensive magical abilities, I can add some attack spells, I'll have to take a glance at the D&D stuff. Artificers aren't really your standard class, since they're the support guys. But some of their stuff gets...wild. And gotcha, if there's no need for the folding boat, I can replace that with something else, and develop it later down the line. I also left out one of the more hilarious items, since being able to make a mechanical creature that fights with you is a bit crazy. Additionally, Alchemical Fire and Alchemical Acid are attack skills/spells. Healing Draught is just "hey you want a health potion that can be used regularly, but still needs a minute to cool down?" Artificers are just fun to play with. I considered the Gunsmith sub-class in place of the alchemist, but also figured I could always find a way to justify that later. Unless you don't mind me merging two sub-classes into one?

That Goddess Lady is gonna get a Lizzieman asking her for directions at some point.

Anyways, yeah, I'll make edits tonight, when I get settled in at dorms, no time to go through things seriously atm. Thanks again for feedback! Again, sorry to take a bit here, I forgot to put this thread in my subs list, and I wasn't getting notifs from tags, lol.

@Epsir
When I was first starting out with D&D, about six months back, I didn't know the items that well, and the wiki I was using didn't provide links to what I was looking at. But man, when my friend who's a D&D nut told me what a Folding Boat was, I went "I have to have that."
I'll probably look at that Haversack later, see if the wiki I'm using has info on it.
Seems a bit happened while I was in bed sick. I'll get myself up to speed and write a post when I get settled in at the dorms this evening. No time at present for posting.
Welcome to the world, hope you like it here! And either being super busy or sitting on ones ass sounds like fun.
