Current Its a fun feeling to just sit and think about what to do for responses. The flipside is feeling locked in place, waiting for another to go first on something.

You ever take a look at the forum board, not see anything of ready interest, and decide to just go about your day? Figured I'd see if a new game was interesting, nope, ah well.

Writer's block is a pain, but if I happen to owe anyone apost, I'll be working on them tonight, hopefully. Might go surfing, see if any games catch my attention.

Bio

I already did an earlier introduction, but this is something one could always see, so let's roll.

Serene is the pen name that I use over on my old G+ account, which if you're able to find the account before the site shuts down, is Serene Selphia, but no fancy url, lol. But to those I'm close enough to, my nickname is Chris, and if I ask you to not use it, its nothing personal, I'm just not ready for that level of friendliness. That isn't to say I'm not a friendly person, just that I can be a bit professional when it comes to stuff. I've been rping since like...2011 I think? If I could find the Minecraft rp forums I started on(yes those were a thing, it was actually full of good rpers, but all good things come to an end of course), I'd have a precise date.

I roleplay a lot of things, well, that was the old system. About four years back, I settled down in a roleplay community on G+ called Temple of Glory, and began to stick to just one character who I kept working on, using other characters as I felt the need. That was my current primary character's father, a character I'll call the Professor for now, as I intend to post a version of his character sheet later. Probably when doing so wouldn't spoil what became of him in a storyline. Anyway, after a point I burned out as him, and switched focus to his daughter, who I use primarily in the old roleplay hub I come from. The Good Doctor, and here, no spoilers, mostly because ahaha, I'm shy about that.

I love a lot of series, but my heart goes out mainly to Rune Factory, Sonic, Mega Man, Metroid, Mario, Pokemon, and Duel Monsters. Especially Rune Factory and Sonic, though lately I've fostered a love for the Nasuverse, Fate Grand Order is a fun time. I love to read a variety of things, and I'm always online unless sleeping, so feel free to drop me a line if you need it. While I'm relatively new to the site here, I'm an rp veteran, and a skilled writer, as you'll see whenever I post the Doctor's current profile.

Ah right, more on me. I'm a college senior presently, I just had my capstone for my history degree wrapped up, and I'm proud of my progress. While I am a loner by nature(I mean my writing often keeps me trapped in my room to meet paper deadlines), I'm still a sociable person, and if you can't reach me here, my Discord is Serene Selphia#1064. So I suppose that's a bit of a spoiler, but to who, I won't say. Just be forewarned, if you ask me about a character of mine, there's a risk I'll write a lot, so make sure you're totally fine with that.

In terms of roleplay, while I do mainly fantasy/science-fiction, I can roll with just about anything(as far as I know), but if I tell you its not working for me, don't take it personally. I'm a fairly detailed writer, and in terms of style, I'm good with both combat and non-combat related narratives, I mean, my current main was built for combat initially, whereas her father is more the sociable type. The most detailed things tend to when I describe the world around, or when writing profiles for characters I adore. Basically, if I'm in tune or really love something, you could get a lot. I once wrote about twenty pages on a google doc in two hours because I loved it so much. Weird flex sure, but you can understand it. I don't look for much in rp partners, so long as you can write me enough that I understand either what you're doing, or what's going on, I'm usually good. I'll generally drop a line if I need more information.

I love learning, so if you ask me about something, and I don't have an answer, I'll gladly take the time to do at least a basic amount of research. And if you're ever stumped for ideas, drop me a line, I'm always glad to help fellow veterans or the newer folk. Heck, at one point for a friend's group I wrote an entire(albeit unused) document full of random plot ideas for the group drawn from throughout film and video games. Point is, if you need someone to talk to, unless I'm in a bad mood, or its a bad time(aka I'm about to go to bed, or in class), I'm always up for at least a quick chat. I do take commissions, so if you want a fanfiction written, give me a holler, or if you just want a custom story about a character of mine, or just ask for them to give their input on something in a non-serious setting. Still debating what to set prices for, or if I work totally free...I mean I should charge something, but anyways, wew, talk about a ramble, eh?

Anyways, that's about it. I'll probably rewrite this as needed.
Restating ways to reach me as needed!

Copied most of this direct from the Typemoon Wiki below, hope that's fine! I uh, only realized how weird Edison gets after I took a look at his Parameters, and did a double take. Additionally, unsure what parts of him the Mystic Code from FGO buffed(nvm, checked, and it just buffed his Territory Creation and Item Creation as far as I can tell), but I can make changes as needed. After this, going to work on my master app.

Ham as in literal ham, or hamming it up?

And I haven't done a serious roll since Gramps so eh. And thanks, I'll try to have a good master sheet up tonight, depends on some school work I need to figure out how to do. Since the college prof left fuck all for instructions.
Yeah, I know how technology and magecraft usually end up being at odds in most cases. Science vs. magic and all.

And thanks for the feedback, I'm pretty much all ears anyway for ideas and stuff. I usually play ideas I know I can work within easily enough, partly why I was leaning towards the modern scientist boys, since well, yeah. Too bad Edison nor Tesla will answer my gacha rolls.
Class wise? I've always been partial to archers, riders, and casters.

Anyways, after a bit of thought, I'm leaning towards Tesla and Caster Edison. Edison wouldn't be his FGO counterpart since that timeline has all the US presidents fusing with him, and only for that one scenario. I don't think its needed, unless you feel otherwise. That or Charles Babbage, if any of them are deemed fine. More modern I know, but I have a soft spot for those three. Otherwise, if you know of any Riders, Casters, or Archers you might like to see, I can try and see if I can pull them off.

I've also given thought to making myself a Master, and in that, adapting one of my characters to the setting. Would the daughter of an archeologist mage turned tech mogul with possible dirty money ties be accepted in some form? Asking since that's a variant of my personal OC I've played in a few rps, and I could adapt her. I'm not sure what her origin or element would be, since I don't think there's magecraft associated with technology in canon, but I may be wrong. I'm more versed with the surface level stuff, like how the Grail Wars work, the nature of the Beasts, summoning, class system, and other factors. Less so with deeper stuff like the specifics behind some mystic codes, origins, and element stuff. Like I get Avalon being why Emiya has sword for element and origin, but otherwise, yeah.

Sorry if this was a bit to read, I was busy thinking in Ancient Medicine and Ancient Cities.
I'd have to see what kind of master I could make as admittedly, we did things a bit weird where I came from. Crossovers were weird. But fun.

And yeah, love Lancelot, he's a big old destructive cinnamon roll, but using him would probably not work out here. I doubt the Roman squad would like him regularly ripping up lampposts. Or stealing their NPs. Suggestions for a servant to do is welcome though, I've got some friends on Discord I asked for help, so hopefully one of them comes up with an idea. Gonna do an existing to save myself some effort, plus I'm not...ready to commit to the Servant OCs I've been working on(like Churchill). Let alone get serious with designing.
Color me interested.

I'll have to look through some servants I like, see who I can actually play, who wouldn't be problematic. As much as I like Berserker Lancelot, dunno if he'd be acceptable for this, nor do I think I can pull him off tbh. I'm used to being the master, not playing a servant, ahaha.
I'm to an extent the same with my personal canon Rockverse, as well as overall with the research I've poured into the Rune Factory series. However, I've tried to make myself more open to stuff.

To new entries into the rp world, the best thing to do is lay out a basic set of information, the minimum they'd have to know on entry. Like if they're making a character, what's the absolute minimum that's needed? More dedicated players may dig into more stuff. As someone who has overwritten stuff more than once, yeah.

In all honesty, even though I've been at work on chipping away on my personal stuff, I don't think what I have reaches that much. Granted, its mostly been me alone with my research. And a lot of stuff unwritten. As someone whose personal OC is in a sense a lore glimpse into an entire verse, yeah, loads of respect.

I'd say being protective is fine, but take it like this. A player is gonna make mistakes if new, if its not a serious one, correct them IC. Like have an NPC pipe up, if its during the course of a narrative. Otherwise, if OOC, feedback is key. You can either tell them directly, or pick them up in DMs and chat about it.

Dunno if what I'm saying is quite clear, its late, I'm tired, and mentally drained from a lot of writing today.

Ancient city blazing
Shadows keep attacking
Little children crying
Confusion, hopeless anger

A song from the late nineties played softly over ear buds, providing a backdrop to the task at hand. The bitter irony of the song playing as the world outside went to shit. Fingers moved deftly, two hands working in time, spinning and shifting faster. Tongue darted out, running pink flesh along reddish lips, green eyes focused intently on the task at hand. A rubix cube. She was almost there...another few turns, and she'd be...

KABOOM

The sound, of an explosion, shook her. Making her pause, stopping the world record attempt. She'd been so close. Her gaze, wide eyed, darted around, the darkened space that held only enough light for her and her work now lighting up, as the cause of the sound became clear. A television screen, in front of her, displaying the news. A crane like structure moved from the remaining darkness, carrying a spherical object on the end, which opened up, to display a dark blue "eye" that soon looked at Serene, while the arm holding it pivoted to allow this. Serene's breathing was fast, as she listened to what was going on, the earbuds she wore tied into the news now, rather than any music station.

"Drake, what the fuck." For a few moments after the loud words were let out, there wasn't a response, then the orb beside her flashed once, before a soft, female voice came from it. "Azure Park was attacked as of five minutes ago by a presently unknown terrorist group. I am currently scanning all parts of the local and national news for any information as to the overall picture, and the identity of the attackers. Casualties are currently estimated to be in the tens, if not hundreds, and perhaps thousands by the end of the day." Serene's gaze narrowed, confused by such numbers. Yes, it was all bad but...her eyes went wide, even as she surged upright from her chair, vertigo kicking her a tad as she did so, before she quickly whirled around to face her AI companion, and only friend. "Oh god, the Nico concert was today...Drake, please tell me someone's doing something."

"Affirmative, I have detected via sensors spread throughout the city that MSU personal, alongside local law enforcement and mutants are currently attempting to engage the attackers. I have yet to determine if this is a singular attack, or a larger scale operation across the country. I took the liberty of notifying all Rocktech employees to avoid the crossfire, and to remain indoors. On site staff are currently in lockdown. Does this please you?" Drake's arm shifted, even as Serene gazed around the otherwise featureless room, her "quiet place" where she could go to lock out all stimulation, except that which she had to focus on. It helped whenever she had headaches and the like.

It took her a moment, then she nodded wordlessly, staring at the news feed before her, the earbuds being pulled out one at a time, and set back down into the form fitting chair. A hand was lifted, fingers flexing outward, triggering the "off" part of the TV, the console shutting off, before it then flipped around in mid air, pulling itself back into the wall, revealing that the white tiling once more. She sighed, reaching up a hand, to brush a strand of hair away from her eyes. "Good work Drake, keep me posted of the ongoing situation, status report on the MKI Security Drones?"

"If you are asking if they are ready for immediate deployment, we lack the raw numbers and field experience needed to determine if they would be effective. While they were designed for urban pacification primarily, they are still being worked on. However, I can check with research and development, see how quickly one can be deployed, and if it could then assist MSU operatives?" Serene didn't respond as Drake spoke, the young CEO cleaning up her room, checking a monitor to one side, sighing. If she'd kept going, she would have been done and have beaten the world record. Oh well. She barely noticed the faint sounds from outside. Even through the padding and other materials designed to limit as much as possible of outside sensory factors, in these circumstances, she could...feel it all. She sighed, adjusting her tie, and her outfit, trying to compose herself. "How do I look, Drake?"

"Presentable. Unlocking airlock in three..." Serene moved, stepping towards the door, even as the chair began to fold down into the ground, with other parts collapsing as it prepared for self storage. "...two..." She stood before it, taking in a breath, before then slowly letting it out. "...One." Pressure seals hissed as air was vented into place, unlocking the first door. She grabbed it, pulling it open, stepping into the clean room. Aware of the scientists on both ends, running a quick check on her bio signs to make sure that say, no one had messed with her somehow, before then confirming she was fine. The door behind her sealed, and the next one hissed, as she stepped forward, pushing it open...stepping out into the hallway outside. It's...

Showtime.
