Was talking to someone who worked in closed captioning who is now getting a new degree because so many companies are turning to AI to close caption now… Which AI is pretty shite at it still.

“I don’t think anyone can achieve that level of overindulgence.” Kiki remarks as she’s led to the kitchen, cheeks flushed from the brief kiss. It left her wanting more. “You see how I fidget about with my hands, dishes seems like an easy enough thing to keep them busy.”

Nic lays on his side, chuckling as he reads Cass’ message. His fingers drum on the back of his phone as he thinks of what to say next.
Kiki raises an eyebrow up at him as she blushes from his teasing, but gives him a pointed look. “Because it’s hard to let people do things for me.” She says with pursed lips, knowing Avery has a point but still feels wrong to do nothing. “Besides, I’d still be in the same room as you.”

Nic laughs heartily while rolling onto his stomach as he looks at his phone.
Well, I’m hopeful that my next move will involve a place with you. Will you help then?
He grins to himself before he sends it, picturing Cass’ cute blush as she reads that even if he won’t be able to see it.
Kiki places her hand in Avery’s with a playful pout. “Well darn, I was going to make you toast.” She teases with a smile. “Can I at least do the dishes from this morning?”

Nic watches as the little dots show that Cass is typing and then they stop. He quirks an eyebrow, wondering what exactly she’s typing. He starts scrolling through some medical articles on his phone while he waits and nearly jumps when his phone vibrates. His lopsided grin warps his face again as he reads Cass’ message.
It’s okay, I find goofy and silly to be quite adorable traits. I’m glad we’re spending time with each other that’s not moving tomorrow.
Kiki smiles, sighing in relief that he isn’t jumping ship at her neediness for him right now. “If by relax you mean stay by your side as you cook, sure.” She says. Her codependency on Avery right now feels pathetic and pitiful to her, but she also knows she almost can’t function without him.

Nic sends a thumbs up and a heart to let Cass know it’s a plan before he heads into his bathroom and showers, scrubbing off the day. He’s starting to feel worn down from everything he did that day and he can't help but think back to that moment in his old apartment. Ears warming, he turns the temperature of the water to a more cold setting to finish cleaning up.
If only the two hadn’t been interrupted by the landlord. When he’s toweled off and in some clean pants, he heads to his bed and checks his phone instinctively. Cass had texted him and a lopsided grin curves his mouth.
Kimiko rubs her neck and looks up at the ceiling. “That’s still all the way across the house and if you’re going to be sleeping in there with me anyway, it makes more sense.” She steals a glance at Avery.
“If that’s too much of me though, I totally understand.”

Nic chuckles, gathering some clothes so he can shower and lay in bed.
Well, my first thought was to make you some scones, but then I realized I would have to go out and buy the ingredients lol eggs, bacon, and toast are simple enough and I have those :)
“About that,” Kiki says before sitting right next to him on the couch, tucking her legs underneath her as she faces him. “You should put some clothes in my room for yourself… I mean, just until I don’t jump at every shadow… That way you don’t have to go all the way back to your room every time.” She fidgets with her fingers, her nails trying to find hangnails to pick nervously at.
Kiki’s ears turn red before she even says the next words. “B-but, I don’t think I’ll need one of your jumpers if you’re sleeping next to me.”

Nic had just finished measuring the dimensions of the room when he feels his phone vibrate. He chuckles softly at Cass’ message.

He sends with a little gif of a pinky swear before continuing.
What do you think you might want for breakfast?
He thought about making some scones, but realizes he doesn’t have all the ingredients. He had only picked up the essentials when getting groceries earlier.

Nero has an admiration for Caden at his ability to carry them and the shopping bags into the hotel. When Caden sets the imp down on top of the dresser, they can’t help but smirk a little, but once again their attention was distracted easily by Caden’s lips on their neck. Already breathless, Nero closes their eyes as pleasant shivers run up their spine and arch their neck to give Caden more room.
Kiki had caught the small bit of disappointment in Avery’s features when she spoke and she can’t help but feel bad about it. She fidgets with her fingers as Avery checks every corner of the room and bathroom for her. She’s about to tell him that he should just bring some clothes to leave here but he’s gone, Kimiko able to just barely hear a sigh behind the door.
She’s frustrated too - if it weren’t for that pack, Avery and her might be having a normal relationship right now without Kiki getting panic attacks or waking up screaming or jumping at every sound. She lets herself bask in a small pity party for herself, much preferring that she has a meltdown now rather than later. That doesn’t seem to work well for her as she hears a ripping sound from behind her and twists to see a bushy white with pink toned tail had erupted from her leggings.
“Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.” She groans before she just rips the leggings off. It seems to help, though, as her tail slowly disappears. Kiki slips into the shower, but doesn’t take long. She just wants to clean off the sweat and dirt and then run into Avery’s arms. She pulls on another one of her tank tops and some jeans before heading to the living room.

Nic sets up the bed and night stands how he wants to when he gets a message back.
I’ll bring you some boba when I pick you up tomorrow.
He smiles to himself before getting back to work. Nic had opted for the leather armchair from his place and the leather loveseat from his parents to go in his room so he could set up a little reading corner on the other side of the room from the bed. Nic guesses that he will probably want to make some custom bookshelves on the wall for his collection of books, since there were quite many of them.

Nero could say they’re surprised by Caden’s actions as soon as the elevator doors closed, but they’re not. They happily clasp their hands around Caden’s neck while standing on their tiptoes to better reach him, kissing him pack deeply. You’d think these two had spent months or years apart with their passion.

At first, Kiki had thought about leading Avery into her before locking herself in the bathroom, but she realized that wouldn’t be fair for him since he wouldn’t have his clothes there. Her second thought was to just tease him, but her real reason is that she wants him close by generally, but also would feel better entering her room with Avery by her side. Just in case. She thinks to herself as she opens her door and peeks her head inside to turn on the lights.
“Rabbits make for an exciting chase.” She says offhandedly. “Sorry to drag you all the way here only to send you away, I just…” Kiki shrugs, chewing on her lip when she couldn’t find the right words.

Nic smiles, sad that the moment is over already, but it’s probably for the best. “I will, don’t you worry.” He tells her sincerely before kissing her head. “I’ll see you tomorrow.” Nic waits for Cass to go inside her house before he gets to the SUV and makes sure the door closed behind her. He knows perfectly well that she’s more than capable of handling herself, but he still worries.
The ride to the new place is relatively short and Nic picks up some groceries on the way to make sure they have some food in the apartment. Kat and Jane had already left, his dad informs him when he go through the front door. When Nic let his dad in on what Cass is doing for them, the man cries and hugs Nic. They have their moment and set up a place to have their photos of Mom and Kiki on display before going off to their own rooms to unpack there.
Sorry, I got home but my dad and I were talking and I almost forgot to text you… Will you forgive me? 🥺
